Chapter 6

-chapter 6-

It was in the middle of the night when Isabelle came home. She was faded. Chaz and her went to a new nightclub that opened up and they experimented with a few different drugs. Isabelle could barely walk straight, let alone process information.
The slam of the front door woke Calum up. He rubbed his eyes and saw his naked body tangled with another's. However, Ana was still fast asleep and he knew she was going to have a pounding headache in the morning. Quietly, he removed himself from her bed and slipped on his clothes. After, he kissed her cheek and left the room.
Isabelle was half asleep on the couch, so Calum was a little frightened to a certain degree. Izzy was mumbling words as he passed by to the front door. When he opened the door Isabelle fell to the floor whimpering. He rushed to the loud girl's side and sat her upright on the sofa.
"Hey, you're Calum Hood. Ohmygod, can I have your babies," she mumbled, the best an intoxicated person could.
He didn't bother answering, just left her to fall asleep. He headed out the door and disappeared into the night, following his phone back to his flat. Calum actually got that reaction a lot, so it wasn't anything new to him.
The glazed girl was certain she just met 1/4 of 5sos and she would only remember his face. Isabelle was far too juiced to comprehend many things. Like how she got home for example, she had know idea. Eventually, she passed out in the living room and soft snores filled the small apartment.
A few hours later the sun rose and shook Ana from her sleep. She gaped at her naked body and quickly threw on clothes. She couldn't remember how or why she was naked, but when she stood to clothe herself she fell to the floor. Her legs were sore and weak.
Pounding headache? Naked? Sore lower body? Then it clicked. She had sex with Calum and didn't even remember it.
Ana frowned at her abominable mistake. She only met him three days ago, so this was unacceptable in her mind. She felt morbid and exposed. Did he at least like it? Was she good? That's all she was worried about by now. Having sex with him this early did bother her, but then she figured they were both drunk from the bar so it probably wasn't meant to happen this way.
Scrutinizing pain interrupted her reasoning as she held tightly to her head. This was why she didn't drink. Bad things happen when you drink. Learn from this people!
Anastasia traveled to the bathroom to achieve a pills for a headache. She found the medicine and swallowed a few. Walking out and into the living room she smelt her roommate. Yes, she reeked of sweat and marijuana.
"Get your lazy ass up you stink," Ana rolled her friend over and accidentally let her fall to the floor.
Isabelle muttered an, "ow," before lazily sitting up on the carpet. The dark headed girl groaned, "You smell too."
"Not as bad as you," Ana sneered, plopping onto the couch.
"You smell like regret and sex," Isabelle stated scrunching her nose, "What did you do last night?"
Ana bit her lip, "I'm not really sure, what about you?" She asked Izzy.
"Uh, I was with Chaz, that's all I know," She finally stood and trudged to the bathroom. Ana rolled her eyes. Of course she was with Chaz. One day that boy was going to let her overdose and she's gonna get the worst feeling in the world.
Anastasia had a talk with Isabelle before about drugs and her usage. She explained what happened with her ex boyfriend and her sister, how tough it was. She didn't want her best friend having to live through something like that. Despite Ana's warning, Isabelle ignored her and continued to go out with Chaz every other night.
"Don't use all the hot water!" Ana called after her, because she usually does and that aggravated Ana.
Now that she thought about it, a lot about Isabelle aggravated her. Sure, she was Ana's friend, but izzy wasn't treating her as a friend. Friendship is about being there for one another, not just being there and not doing anything. Isabelle doesn't pay rent, or go to class everyday, she's always out partying, she teases Ana. That's not a friendship, that's raising a child and Ana didn't like baby sitting Isabelle.
Admitting, Isabelle didn't feel that way. She had no idea all of those things were bothering her room mate. Because she didn't have a job she assumed it was okay for her to stay there and not pay bills. Though, she knew the partying with Chaz irritated Ana on an emotional level, she still did it.
After their showers they got ready for their classes for the day. Isabelle already missed hers so there was no point for her to go. However, Ana still had English and Math.
"Hey, did you dream last night?" Isabelle asked while Ana was pulling on a sweater.
        "Not really why?"
"Because I had a dream I met Calum Hood and I asked him if I could have his babies," Isabelle snorted. Anastasia froze for a second and contemplated telling her. She gave up on thinking because her head hurt far too much to do so.
"Uh, Iz? You know pharmacy boy right?" She eased her way into the secret. She didn't want to give her best friend a heart attack.
         "Yeah."
"He's Calum Hood.." She waited for an 'ok' or a scream anything really, but she got nothing.
"Haha, real funny Anns," She fake laughed from her bedroom.
Ana shook her head, "I'm telling you the truth. You probably saw him leaving last night," Ana suggested, leaving her friend confused.
"No, can't be," she pushed away the thoughts, however they stayed and Isabelle put the pieces together. Ana leaving to go on dates, her stench of sweaty sex, the rose, it was Calum Hood. This hurt her inside. She knew all about 5sos, not Ana. Izzy loved their music and knew countless facts about them. Yet Ana was the one to get to live the dream.
Isabelle walked into Ana's room with a plain face. In one sudden movement she pounced on Ana and smothered her with a pillow.
"THERES NO WAY IN HELL THAT YOU ARE DATING CALUM GODDAM HOOD YOU SLUT OF A WHORE!" She spat at her friend.
"Dude get off," Ana pushed her off and straightened her clothes.
"WHY THE FUCK DIDNT YOU TELL ME IT WAS HIM?!" Isabelle paced around the room. Deep down she was jealous, but on the outside she was happy for her honey haired friend.
"Cause I didn't was that to happen," she gestured toward the floor where Isabelle was on top of Ana seconds ago.
Izzy's was still furious on the inside, but she hid it quietly while she figured it all out, "Oh, sorry."
"Are you mad?" Ana grabbed her keys off the dresser and held on to them tightly.
"Well, kind of," Isabelle admitted, "It's not everyday your best friend has sex with a rockstar," They both laughed but Isabelle's smile soon faded, "No but seriously I fucking hate you right now."
Isabelle was angry, livid even. She had a huge fangirl crush on all the boys including One Direction. Knowing her best friend was dating one of them sent her reeling. It should've been her was all she could think inside. It should've been her. Quickly, Ana left before anything else could be discussed. She didn't like the hostility coming from Isabelle. Sure, she shouldn't of kept it from her, but it wasn't that big of a deal in the first place.
The blonde drove off in her 2006 Toyota minivan her mom bought her and traveled directly to university. If she hurried she could catch her English class on time.

-.-.-.-

Rushing through the door, her professor smiled at her worried face. Relieved, Ana took the closest empty seat which was all the way in the back. She seriously needed to stop barely making it to class.
A verse of '21 guns' played quietly in Ana's bag. ~'One, twenty-one guns' ~ Quickly, she silenced her phone and met the professors harmful gaze. Sheepishly, she turned down her volume and shoved her phone back into her bag then took out her notebook. The teacher returned to the board and continued to discuss today's plans.
"Your semester grade will be determined by this assignment," The middle aged woman stated in a shaky voice, "Describe the similarities of Poe's, Homer's , and Shakespeare's writings in a seven page paper, due before Thanksgiving Break.'
Ana frowned at the horrid instructions. It was the end of August though, so she had a few months to write it. She hadn't read any Shakespeare since high school, and she never even heard of Homer so she was bound to get a bad grade on hers no matter how long the dead line is.
Suddenly, her mind drenched itself with images of Calum shirtless hovering over her with a blissful gleam in his dark chocolate eyes. It startled her at first, the memories. She couldn't remember at first, but as the day went on she began to remember more and more from last night. It wasn't all there, but enough to make out the actions. Mostly faded, blurry pictures that she could barely comprehend.
She wondered for a minute if he had remembered last nights events. Ana wanted to know if he liked it, or if she even liked it herself. Anastasia felt love struck of sorts. No, she didn't love him, she barely even liked him, but she loved being around him those past few days. She made a mental note to text him when she got the chance and ask.
Although, she wasn't the type of girl to do that, be sexual openly. It just wasn't her. She was more private with things like that. For example, Ana hated PDA. Not the holding hands kind of affection, but when people are practically sucking each others throats off from their mouths right in front your face kind of affection.
The entire class, Ana was in space thinking about her personal problems, Calum, and how angry Isabelle was. The two hours passed by quickly. Every now and again, Ana's head would pound and she would flinch at the sharp pain.
Five minutes before the class ended, the teacher stopped talking and eyed Anastasia down. She was looking up, lost in her own thoughts and her professor did not like it.
"Ms. Sealy?" The wrinkly lady peered over her bifocals at Ana.
The distracted girl didn't answer at first, but the silence throughout the room pulled her from her mind. Anastasia raised her eyebrows and muttered a, "Yes?" Confused to why all eyes were on her.
The teacher walked a few steps closer, "Can you repeat what I just said?" Mrs. Crabapple crossed her arms and awaited the wrong reply she was about to receive.
The small blonde pushed some of her hair behind her ear and gathered her thoughts, "Um, w-what you said?" She clarified and the professor nodded, "Uh, W-well. You said th-that our papers are due b-before Thanksgiving Break," she stuttered terribly, hoping that was the last thing she said.
The woman sighed, disappointed with her answer, "Ms. Sealy, do you plan on passing my class and getting your degree?"
Ana mentally rolled her eyes, "Of course."
She walked back to her desk and sat down, "Then I suggest you pay attention, because I said we have a guest speaker tomorrow coming and she is very important to this generation," she sneered at the younger girl as Ana gulped down her insult.
The bell rang finally and Ana gathered her things as quickly as possible. Attempting to zip past her professor failed at the first second when she called her name before Ana had the chance to dash out the door.
"Oh, and Ms. Sealy," The cranky woman loved using Ana last name.
         "Yes ma'am?"
"Your assignment is due before Halloween," She stated, turning back to her paperwork.
Ana bit her tongue before she called her teacher something that would be considered 'threatening' and instead replied with, "Why?"
"Obviously, if you don't pay attention that means you already know all about their particular styles and works," She gave a fake smile and Ana mentally rolled her eyes, "So it should be easy for you."
It was stupid to her, the assignment in general. Who cares? Ana didn't, but she knew she had to of she wanted to be a doctor. An entire essay deciding her semester grade was something she didn't like anyway, but she forced a smile and nodded her head.
"So, October 30th at midnight is my deadline?" She confirmed questioningly, the lady nodded and shooed her out the room. Frustrated, Ana left the classroom with a newly found hatred for the wrinkled prune that called herself an English Professor.
Now, Ana had to deal with an angry roommate, a drunken memory, and a seven page English essay. Not to mention her pounding head and sore legs from the night before. This had to be one of the erroneous days she's had all week.
