Third Person's POV:

Present:

The sight was too foreign yet familiar to him. Jungkook did that a lot when they lived together back in times.

Jungkook had wrecked his apartment, venting his anger and hopelessness out on these inanimate objects. Those poor things that had done nothing wrong.

The cushions were sprawled across the room. Vases broken, lamps destroyed, even the decoration pieces were not spared.

Just like a tornado had hit the room, everything was a mess. Taehyung spotted Jungkook's medals and trophies lying on the floor.

The black haired male had seen Jungkook throw everything around when he was super furious but his medals and trophies were his prized processions. The young photographer had practically watched the other worship his achievements.

He was so proud of them, once Taehyung had even asked him why he was so protective of his trophies. Jungkook had well... replied with a very deep answer, unlike his usual self, stunning Taehyung to the core.

Taehyung can't remember the exact words since it was years ago but he can still recall that Jungkook had told him it were the proof of how hard he had worked and how far he had come. It was like a solid form of his struggles and efforts.

So seeing even his oh-so-precious medals tossed to somewhere, he realized that it must have been hard for him.

Really hard.

Of course it would. On the contrary, Taehyung thinks it would be weird if Jungkook remained calm and collected but since that had most certainly not happened Taehyung was oddly relieved. Why you ask? Because even if Jungkook adopted the whole new aura, his love and passion for his dream didn't falter. Not even a bit.

Taehyung had thought deeply about Jungkook. Nights went he couldn't sleep. Nights when his terrors wouldn't let him breath, he would think of Jungkook, a selfless troublesome brat with immeasurable love for his favourite sport.

Taehyung admired this side of him a lot. He really did.

He made a quick run to the room Jungkook was most probably in right now, his bedroom. The raven head had mindlessly mentioned his room when they had all visited him after his surgery before.

He turned the knob of the door to his room, knocking on it multiple times to aware the other of his presence but when he didn't get a response, he decided to enter the room.

Slowly striding towards the bed, he remained silent, still not sure if the male hidden under the comforts of his blankets had heard his previous calls.

Jungkook was curled up near the far end of the bed, his raven hair peeking out a bit, sprawled in every direction on the pillow he had his head on.

Taehyung sat near the other end, a dip in the bed caused Jungkook to shuffle slightly, the intruder mentally prepared himself to greet the other but Jungkook never came in sight.

"G-Get out Jimin. I don't wanna see anyone right now."

Taehyung felt his heart drop at the pained voice. The other could tell he had been crying for long. The usual confidence and smugness nowhere to be found in his voice. It was broken and Taehyung oh-so-desperately wanted to fix it.

He had never heard him speak in such a tone, Jungkook was never the one to be affected by something so easily. He was always the strong, bold person Taehyung admired.

The news must have hurt him a lot for him to react this way. It must have been a shock for him to accept the fact that he had just lost his career in a matter of seconds.

The career he had worked on almost half his life, the career he had build by sacrificing days and nights of his teenage, all gone because of a stupid accident.

"Jungkook." Taehyung whispered out after contemplating for quite a bit.

Jungkook stilled. His initial slight movement stopped. Taehyung was sure the other recognized who he is. It was a pretty obvious thing.

A few seconds went by in sheer silence. Not even a word uttered between them. Taehyung held his breath at what was to come.

Will he shout at me? Will he be mad that I came? Will he ask me to leave? By any chance, will he welcome me? Taehyung shook his head briefly to get rid of his unnecessary thoughts.

"Leave me alone!"

There it was. Taehyung was bewildered at the sudden change in his voice. It was no longer vulnerable and weak. It was cold and emotionless.

Taehyung felt a slight pang in his heart when he realized how Jungkook was willing to be vulnerable in front of Jimin but not him. It was no big deal but Taehyung was once again reminded that the trust and respect he once had in the others' eyes were all burned to ashes.

"I won't." Taehyung replied with finality, voice stern, leaving no room for discussion.

Jungkook remained silence for a few seconds but those mere seconds felt like hours to the other who waited for his response.

With a final sigh, Jungkook lifted the comforter off him, yeeting it to the corner of his king-sized bed and faced Taehyung.

Now that Taehyung saw his face, his bloodshot eyes, tear-stained cheeks and blank eyes, he felt ten times worse.

"I'm fucking sorry but I don't want you here. You can un-invite yourself and get lost cause I'm in no mood to see your fucking face-"

"You can't play any longer?"

Taehyung challenged with a raised brow, completely ignoring Jungkook's rant.

"What?" Jungkook asked in disbelief, the blood rushing to his face at the shamelessness of the other. Even if they were no longer friends, they had been companions at one point in life. Shouldn't Taehyung have kept at least that into consideration before speaking so carelessly about something he knew was sensitive to him?

"I think you heard me clearly." A sudden shrug of shoulder accompanied his words, The black haired male knew he was playing with fire. He had to take the risk of toying with him because the Jungkook he knows would never accept the consolation he'll give him, and right now, he can't leave him alone either.

Explains his actions a bit, doesn't it?

"I fucking did but, what? The fuck you mean?" He was getting furious and Taehyung smiled internally. No matter how much time passes, Taehyung knows him like the back of his hand.

He mentally praised himself for thinking of that at the spot and proceeded with his plan.

Slowly standing up from the bed, he walked slowly and started collecting the random objects that were laying on the floor.

Jungkook followed his every move with hawk like eyes, furrowed brows were displayed evidently on his face.

"Well I meant that--I heard you can't continue playing any longer. That's a shame. I was even a bit sad at the news but seeing you like this...", he pointed at Jungkook, scanning him from head to toes, even pulled out a disgusted face at the other before continuing.

"...Just reminds of how immature and childish you are." He finished his sentence with a perfect smirk.

He should've been in a drama with how well he was acting right now.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Jungkook clenching and unclenching his fists, his nose flaring and eyes closed, taking deep breaths.

Taehyung smiled in victory once again when he saw Jungkook all agitated and that's what he wanted. He wanted to anger Jungkook so that he can bring it all out. So that his emotions, his resentment doesn't bottle up inside him. That was the best he could have thought for the other.

"Just how you were back then, troublesome and foolish, thinking you were some kind of super hero--but no Jungkook, You were not. And you ain't now. So don't act like a pussy and grow some balls... Face the facts, don't hide from them."

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

There it was.

Taehyung had wanted exactly that. Even though it came a whole lot sooner than expected.

Jungkook limped towards him, a cast still plastered around his left leg. Taehyung even noticed the white bandage wrapped around his forehead, a pale read spot visible when one took a close look.

"What? Can't stand the truth?" Taehyung cooed at the end that further added to Jungkook's agony.

"YOU ARE NOT THE ONE TO TALK... OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE, NOT YOU!"

Jungkook had long closed the distance between them and now was standing very close to the other, who just gulped at the proximity.

Jungkook was practically towering over the other, who pretended to not be affected, tried to keep up his act.

Even if both of them were of similar heights, Taehyung couldn't help but feel small under Jungkook's furious gaze. Taehyung had been cornered by the professional athlete and he had no idea how to deal with a bipolar Jungkook right now.

"Not you! You don't know how it feels. You don't fucking know how it feels to see your...your life coming down. You don't know because you've never been through it but I have. I fucking have, okay!?" He was no longer shouting but his voice was still loud, loud enough to make Taehyung flinch whenever he came a little closer.

The despair in Jungkook's eyes was heartbreaking. He searched the other's eyes for a tiny bit of lingering hope but found none.

It was like he had lost all hope. Like he had just given up.

"You don't fucking understand how it feels to forcefully let go of the things you love with all your heart. And it's definitely not a good feeling."

"I-It hurts to even think about it. It hurts wanting to wail out but there's no one listening so why bother anyways." The crack in his voice was the only thing Taehyung could think of.

"Jungkook--" Taehyung spoke in the softest voice he could muster among all the chaos in his head right now.

"Don't say anything, Taehyung. It might not be a big deal to you but to me it matters. A lot."

Jungkook was not even listening at this point. He just shared down at Taehyung while talking. His words barely above a whisper.

"Jungk--" Taehyung tried again. He wanted to comfort him but the other had different plans.

"I had had enough of that bullshit--"

And he continued to rant.

Taehyung suddenly lunched forward and pressed his lean body against the other. The said other was astonished at his sudden move.

It was just a simple hug, none of them dared to move, even if Taehyung had initiated the hug, he was the one who was questioning his rationality and beating himself up inwardly.

None of them know why or how it happened but they stayed still, bodies still pressed against each other.

Taehyung had his eyes closed, his expression seemed oddly calm contrary to the frenzy in his heart at the moment.

Jungkook on the other hand had his eyes opened, staring at wall behind Taehyung's head.. He even took note of the small details on the wall that he had missed looking at.

Just as Jungkook was about to question his actions, Taehyung pulled back. A visible blush adorning his naturally rosy cheeks. It was a cute sight but Jungkook couldn't afford thinking about that, he had other things to look after. Like...

Why had Taehyung hugged him all of a sudden?

He had forgotten his former rant and worries. Calming his frantic heart, he opened his mouth to speak to the other, but before he could even do the said deed, Taehyung had sprinted out of the messy room.

Jungkook contemplated going after him but decided against it. Mind still processing the former events.
