September 2023
five years later
A red haired teenager looked around in confusion, the forest look different than she remembered, mover over grown almost. Noah's throat was dry, she cleared it a couple of times, and attempted to stand up, seemingly forgetting about the wound to her leg.
"Mama?" she looked around in several directions, before digging into her pocket for her phone, upon dialing Natasha's number, it had gone to voicemail. The same had happened with Maria.
Noah began to panick until someone finally answered, "Noah?"
"Tony, thank God! What the hell is going on? Why isn't Mama answering her phone?" Noah rushed out, "Look, Noah. I'll explain everything so-"
The line cut off with an explosion, "Hello? Tony?"
--
"Are you sure you're up for this?" Shuri asked Noah gently, "Why wouldn't I be?"
Shuri opened her mouth to speak but Noah just shook her head, "Let's do this."
"Hey Cap, can you read me?" Sam asked, Noah tapped her foot nervously replacing the earpiece, "Cap, it's Sam. Can you hear me?"
"On your left." Sam said, "You've always wanted to that haven't you?" Noah asked into the earpiece.
"Obviously."
Noah stepped through the portal beside Shuri, and offered a nod to Steve. Sam flew in above them, and many other portals opened all around them, just about everyone that could possibly be there to help, showed up.
If Noah was in the right state of mind, she would appreciate how unified everyone seemed, and how strong they all would end up being together.
"Avengers!" Steve shouted, as miljoner flew through the air, landing in his hand, "Assemble."
Noah moved forward right along with eveyone one else, fighting off some of the aliens. The red head was angry, so her style might've been sloppier than usual but it was just as effective.
"Cap! What do you want me to do with this damn thing!" Clint exclaimed dodging through people, and aliens alike.
"Get those stones as far away as possible!" Cap instructed, "No! We need to get 'em back where they came from."
"We can't Thanos destroyed the tunnel." Tony stated, "Wait! That wasn't our only time machine!" Scott spoke.
A distant horn sounded through the air, "Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Cap asked.
"Yes! But you're not gonna like where it's parked!" Valkyrie spoke, "Scott how long do you need to get that thing working?" Tony questioned.
"Uh, Maybe ten minutes."
"Get it started we'll get the stones to you." Steve ordered.
Noah spotted Clint and grabbed his attention, "Uncle Clint!" Noah exclaimed, "I've got it!"
"Hey, kid." he gave her a small smile, handing the gauntlet over, "It's good to see you, but I really better move." the red head stated.
"You think?"
Noah ran through shooting at aliens, blood splattered against her face, "Gross."
A trail of rocks lifted her through the air, "Oh. Not you again." Noah muttered her eyes coming across the alien. Peter swung by over head, "I've got it Noah!"
"Thank you!" she shouted to him.
"I..I don't know how you're going to get through all that." Peter stuttered, "Don't worry."
"She's got help." Okoye stated, Noah wrapped an arm around Peter, "You okay Parker?"
"Yeah, are you?"
"I'm surviving." Noah nodded, "I better go with them- I'd hate to screw up the girl power moment." she noted sarcastically, "I'm glad you're okay, Peter."
Noah ran forward with the rest of them fighting off the alien army, but what would happen next was in fact inevitable.
An explosion rang through the air as the van was destroyed, Noah tumbled backward, her ears ringing followed by her world going dark for a few moments.
"And I...I am Iron Man."
A flash of light erupted and aliens began to dust away, Noah felt a rush of relief at first, and then exactly what happened hit her.
"Tony," she breathed, Rhodey was already near him, and Noah nearly tripped over her own two feet on her way too him, "Tony...please don't...please don't- I can't lose you too."
Noah's body shook a bit, "Tony, I'm sorry. I'm...so, sorry. Please just stay with me." a couple of tears streamed down her face and Pepper's hands gently pulled her up.
"Why'd he do that, Rhodey?" she cried, leaning into the man, "Why'd he do that?"
Pepper knelt beside him, whispering to him, "It's okay Tony. We'll be okay. You can rest now."
Noah sobbed in Rhodey's arms, in her mind, two days ago she had everything. And now her mother was dead. And Tony Stark, one of the people who had raised her, was gone.
She had lost everything.
