"You look beautiful sweetheart," Maria beamed as Noah walked towards her, "Thanks, Mom."
"One picture?" the brunette asked her hopefully, "Fineee,"
Noah stood in the hallway and smiled for the photo, "Perfect," Maria stated.
Noah's phone buzzed with a message from Maddie, "She's here."
"I'll walk you out," Maria stated, "Mom. You're gonna scare her off." Noah pouted, and Maria wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"That's the plan."
"Mom!"
Maria laughed, "It's a joke, relax." Noah arched an eyebrow at her, "Is it though? Is it really?"
Maria smiled softly, "You look so much like your mother, it's truly astonishing."
Noah nodded, "Yeah, I think it's mostly the hair though, Mama claims I have my dad's eyes. I don't see it though, or at least I don't remember seeing it....Mama also says I have your attitude and fully blames it on you."
"You do have my attitude. Clearly you spent too much time with me when you were a kid." Maria teased and Noah laughed, "Clearly."
Maria and Noah walked to wear Maddie was waiting, "Maddie, this is my Mom, Mom this is Maddie."
"Nice to meet you Mrs. Barn-" Maddie started and Noah cut her off by quickly shaking her head, Maria shot Noah a questioning look, "You can just call me Maria,"
"Oh, Nice to meet you Maria," Maddie smiled, "Ready to go?"
"Can I just-" Maria started, "Take a picture?" Noah finished with a small smile, "Go for it,"
Noah stood next to Maddie, wrapping an arm around the girl's waist, "You look gorgeous," Noah whispered in her ear, "You look stunning," Maddie whispered back.
"Thank you," Noah looked away from Maddie a small blush dusting her cheeks.
"Anytime," Maddie smiled, "Alright, I love you Noah, be safe you too." Maria spoke lowering her phone, "Love you too, Mom."
Noah could've asked Maria to give them a ride to the school, however she didn't really want to give the woman to much time to scare Maddie. So the both opted to walk to the dance, they looked ridiculous, Maddie in a dress, Noah in her blazer jacket.
"I'm seriously regretting the heels decision." Maddie laughed, "I'm sorry," Noah frowned, "I should've just asked my Mom to drive us."
"No, it's okay, really."
"We can trade shoes if you want," Noah offered, and Maddie laughed, "I'm gonna be honest, you don't look like the type of girl who could walk in heels."
"I am a master at walking in heels," Noah was not only a master at walking in heels but she could also fight in heels. The redhead was a girl of many skills.
"And now I feel like you need to be proven wrong," Noah stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, untying her shoe, "You're serious?" Maddie asked unmoving.
"Dead serious." Noah stood on one foot holding out her shoe, "Come on."
"If you insist," Maddie pulled off her heel handing it to Noah, "Oh these are amateur heels." Noah stated, teasingly.
"Amateur, huh?" Maddie smirked, "I guess we'll just have to see how you do."
"Wanna bet on it?" Noah taunted, "Wow, you're really confident in this, aren't you?" Maddie stated.
"Oh yes."
Noah very much proved Maddie wrong, as they had just arrived and Noah did an effortless job of walking in the heels. Upon spotting Peter getting out of a car Noah leaned over to Maddie, "Go ahead, I'll be there in a minute, I'm just gonna say hi to Peter real quick."
"Ok," Maddie smiled, kissing Noah's cheek, "See you in there."
"Peter!" she waved, approaching him, "Are you ok? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." Peter waved her off, Noah rolled her eyes, "No. Seriously Peter, what's going on?"
"Let's walk, and talk, please." Peter stated leading her away from the car quickly, "Peter."
"So you know that guy with the weapons, and stuff?" Peter asked, "Well obviously." Noah stated.
"Well...it's Liz's Dad." Peter stated and Noah stopped walking, "What? Like Liz, Liz? Like your date to homecoming Liz?"
"Yup, that's the one."
"Okay, okay. I am going to go into homecoming, and you are going to go into homecoming. And we are going to have fun. Tomorrow, however, we're going to figure this out, okay?"
"Yeah," Peter nodded, "Good, I'll see you in there then." Noah walked away.
Maddie beamed as she spotted Noah walking towards her, "Hey! You made it in!"
"Punch?" Maddie offered and Noah quickly shook her head, Noah didn't tend to drink anything that wasn't out of a previously sealed bottle, which was probably her over paranoia talking however, she still didn't push it.
"Wanna dance then?" Maddie asked, "Sure," Noah smiled, and took Maddie's hand, "I have to warn you though, my dancing skills are no where near as phenomenal as my walking in heels skills."
Maddie laughed, "Whatever you say, I'm starting to think you're a master at everything."
"Not true." Noah stated, "Name one thing you're bad at." Maddie instructed, "Cooking. Baking. Anything to do with painting or drawing, I could go on."
"Fine, so you're not a master at everything. I stand corrected."
Noah smiled, "I do love when I'm right."
"You're awful." Maddie stated, "Completely insufferable."
"Really? I thought I was 'stunning'." Noah spoke smugly, "Fuck you. Using my own words against me," Maddie shook her head, faking a scornful look.
Peter rushed by running right into Noah, "Jesus! Peter! Where are you going?" She shouted after him, "My god. If you want to talk about insufferable." she motioned to where Peter had previously be standing, "There's the definition of it."
After a couple minutes of dancing Noah looking around for Peter periodically, Maddie stopped her, "We can go look for Peter." Maddie stated, "I can tell you're worried."
"About Peter? Please-" Noah started sarcastically and Maddie cut her off, "Cut the crap. Let's go find him."
"If you insist, I should probably warn you that things might be a little weird, but not weird in the way you're expecting." Noah stated.
"You're borderline scaring me, right now."
