Eris' state of slumber was disturbed by the feeling of somebody tapping her shoulders.

It took her a moment before registering what was happening, but once she did, she immediately opened her eyes and shrunk away from the touch.

A pair of dark brown eyes looked down on her behind a pair of round glasses. Wilbur looked at her with concern and determination, but a bit of anxiety also laced through his stare.

"It's time."

Wilbur put out a hand for Eris to take and that's when Eris realised that Eret wasn't at her side. Instead of his shoulder, her head rested against the back of the tent, but a blanket was still tightly wrapped around her.

She took Wilbur's hand and let him help her stand up, but when she expected he would let her go as soon as she was on her feet, his cold hand was still around hers in a comforting manner, confusing the younger girl slightly.

"I know things have been awkward between us the last few days, and I'm sorry if I upset you."

Eris stared up at her leader blankly, not immediately knowing what she should say. Replying to kind gestures and emotions was never something she was great at, she'd like to think it was an inherited trait from Technoblade, who was horrible at it as well.

After a good moment Eris came to a conclusion about her feelings and replied hesitently, "It's okay."

Wilbur nodded, the smallest ghost of a small haunting his chapped lips, "Before everything kicks off, I need to talk to you for a moment."

"You are very important to the revolution. Without you, I don't think we could win this." The tall brunet continued, his face set in a frown as he looked down on Eris, "But you're also very important to us. To Tommy. To everyone. To me. I have noticed you haven't been feeling well the past few days and I know what you can be like. Please don't be reckless. Don't throw yourself into a situation you know you can't get out of, even when you don't care."

Eris' eyes narrowed slightly, "The only thing I care about is L'Manberg and the people in it. I will do everything for it and you. This is war, people will get hurt, or worse, so don't expect me to get out of the way if something happens to any of you. Because I won't. I also know you wouldn't either."

Wilbur bit his lip, looking off in thought, before he met Eris' icy stare again, "I care about you like a sister, Dodie. Don't do anything stupid."

The tall brunet took the younger girl in his arms, hugging her tight. The nickname he used, jumped through Eris' mind and made her hold onto him a little tighter. Memories of childhood and lost innocence came bubbling up and the thought of her lost hat almost made her tear up.

But before she could, Wilbur leaned back and let Eris go. The man sighed and gave her a short nod, "Go put on your uniform and get your gear. It's almost dawn."

Eris nodded in reply as well, before turning her back to her friend and wiping her cheek clean from a non-existent tear before making her way inside the Carmavan to retrieve her clothing and weapons.

It took her around ten minutes to prepare herself before she stood outside again. The blue tailcoat that hugged her arms and sides felt comfortable, albeit a bit too formal in her opinion. She had to admit however that the revolutionaries looked good in their matching uniforms. As she looked over at Tommy she couldn't help but chuckle a little. His coat was slightly too big for him, as Eret had made it for him to grow into. He almost had at this point, but not quite yet, which made for an awkward-looking fit. The linen shirt and red waistband looked better on him and made him look more sophisticated than he in reality was. Eris reckoned she looked the same with her identical clothing.

The last real piece of the uniform, next to the woollen trousers and black boots, was the black hats that the revolutionaries wore. It seemed a bit ineffective to Eris, fighting wise, but Wilbur had insisted on wearing them.

And there they stood, waiting for their enemy to appear from out of the forest.

Anticipation slowly started to build in Eris' body as she looked down from the walls into the sea of trees and she could almost feel the anxiety and slight fear of the revolutionaries in the air.

The sun was now barely visible over the distant hills, but still, there was no sign of the 'Dream-team' and the brunette wanted to scoff at the irony of it all.

Tommy was positioned on the other side of the entrance, on the wall as well, staring off into the distance. Eret, Wilbur and Fundy stood down below, right in front of the gate, awaiting an uncertain fate.

When Eris started to get impatient, she scanned through the trees and there they were. The two black dots and eerie smile, accompanied by George and Sapnap. All three of them sat on top of horses that carried them through the forest at a mockingly slow pace.

Eris looked over at Tommy, whistling for his attention. He met her stare before looking at the point the brunette started to gesture at. When he spotted the trio he nodded at Eris and made his way down to the rest of the revolutionaries. Eris did as well.

"They're here." Tommy said as he made his way to stand on the left right side of Wilbur, rolling his shoulders back slightly to correct his usually poor posture.

Eris joined Wilbur at his left side, in between him and Eret, but unconsciously she set a small step in front of them.

Wilbur gave a look to the side and all members of L'Manberg took out their preferred weapons. Eris pulled a sword from her back. It was a spare, as her old one had been destroyed, but she figured she'd get used to a new one quite easily and quickly.

Then the enemy grew visible from this angle as well, the trio was armed heavily and their weapons definitely looked better made than the revolutionaries'. They came to a halt at the edge of the treeline and dismounted their horses, before tying them to one of the trees.

Eris looked on seemingly uninterested, but in reality the gears in her head were turning at the sight of Dream. He had haunted her sleep and mind for days now and seeing him once again in person made her stomach turn slightly, but she kept her composure.

"Hello." The masked man spoke as they came to a halt a few metres away from the gate, standing directly opposite to the people of L'Manberg.

"Hello, Dream." Wilbur replied. His tone was neutral but stern, sounding like a true leader.

"I don't see any white flags."

The words came out condescending but unsurprised. His stance suggested nothing more as he stood lightly on his feet. The arrogance made Eris grit her teeth.

"Indeed."

"So you traitors will not surrender then."

Eris could see Tommy stepping forward slightly and opening his mouth on the side of her vision, but he was swiftly stopped by Wilbur who put a hand in front of his chest, without even looking at the teen. Instead he spoke up for himself.

"We, revolutionaries, will not surrender. It's independence or death. If we get no revolution, then we want nothing. We would rather die than surrender and join your lands."

Dream chuckled lightly, leaning his head back a little as he looked off to the side, almost amused even, "Well then. You know what that means right?"

The question was completely rhetorical as Wilbur didn't reply. Dream put out his hand and looked at the smaller brunet at his side, "George."

The brunet pulled out a small object out of his pocket and handed it to the masked man, who held it up in front of him. Only now Eris could see it was a small piece of TNT.

Dream held the object in front of him teasingly for a moment, before pulling out a lighter and lighting the fuse. He tossed the object forward in the direction of the revolutionaries.

The size of the object was almost laughable and Eris looked at it in confusion for a second.

"Everybody step back." Wilbur commanded. And all of them did.

They split off to give the object the needed space to explode with Eris and Eret standing on one side and Tommy, Wilbur and Fundy on the other.

But the moment the fuse disappeared into the dynamite, all hell broke loose.

First the small explosion went off, making Eris flinch in her place, but seconds later another, far bigger explosion was heard and the ground split open from below.

Eris was pulled back by a hand as her ears rang and vision swayed. She could hear distant screams and shouts as balls of fires blasted in front of her and dirt rained down onto the ground, covering her slightly as well.

She looked behind her at the person who pulled her away from the exact position one of the explosions happened to see Eret looking down at the crater with a pain stricken face.

Multiple explosions happened at once, and Eris whipped her head around to see the main building of L'Manberg explode. The windows of the Carmavan blasted outwards as the glass in it exploded and a wave of fire blew from it.

Eris couldn't help but look on as her home tumbled to the ground and pieces of debris plummeted down.

Then, as another explosion rumbled the ground beneath her, another thought ran through her mind; Tubbo.

She darted off into the direction of the medical tent, avoiding the craters in the ground stealthily, once inside she rushed over to Tubbo who was sat up in his bed, terror written in his eyes.

"Eris!" He screamed at the sight of his friend, and he quickly wrapped his arms around the girl once she was in a reachable distance, "What's happening?!"

"Explosions. TNT. Dream." Eris replied hastily, hugging the younger boy back, before leaning back, "Can you walk?"

Tubbo nodded slowly and Eris took that as a good enough answer and swung one of his arms, the good one, over her shoulders and hoisted him up from the bed. He winced, but otherwise seemed to be okay and so they made their way over to the exit of the tent. Tubbo shivered when they stepped outside as he wasn't wearing a shirt, the only thing to protect him from the cold being his bandaged up chest and shoulder.

Eris let go of the brunet for a moment and pulled her coat from her shoulders and put them on Tubbo, leaving herself in her linen shirt. She then wrapped his arm around her shoulder again and looked around to find a place where they could run.

It didn't take her long before she spotted Wilbur in the distance and the two teens made their way over to him.

"Thank god you two are okay." Wilbur exclaimed when Eris and Tubbo came into hearing distance.

Only now Eris noticed that Wilbur had Tommy under his arm, almost in an identical position as she was with Tubbo. The blond boy had his head hung low against Wilbur's chest as blood dripped from his forehead and nose

Anger bubbled inside of Eris' mind as her ears still ringed.

"Where do we go?" Fundy asked desperately, his blue tailcoat torn, and his shirt slashed.

"I have something." Eret spoke up suddenly, looking at the ground, "Follow me."

Without much of a second thought the revolutionaries followed Eret to the back entrance of L'Manberg and into the forest.

After walking for around a minute or two Eret came to a halt in front of some sort of large stone formation, before he pushed away a rather large boulder which revealed a staircase into the ground.

"Holy shit." Eris exclaimed in awe as she looked at her friend. He didn't meet her gaze, instead looked off just to the side.

"Down here we should be safe." Eret said instead, making his way down the stairs, followed closely by the rest, "I've been working for weeks to prepare for this."

Eris was completely dumbstruck as she followed Eret down the stairs, making sure that Tubbo was still upright as well. He seemed to be doing fine, only occasionally wincing when they walked too quickly.

The staircase seemed to go deep into the ground as the walk down seemed to last forever, but maybe it was just the adrenaline that pumped to Eris' body that caused that.

"Wow Tubbo mumbled absently as they finally found their way at the bottom of the stairs. They were now in a dark, small room, with chests lined up on either side of it. Each chest contained a sign with the names of every member of L'Manberg. A chill ran down Eris' spine.

"What the fuck, Eret." Tommy said. He seemingly had gained his consciousness back quite a bit as he looked around with big eyes, but still was held up by Wilbur, who eyed the room as well, but with a bit more scepticism.

Eris let go of Tubbo's shoulder as she sat him down on one of the chests that contained the name Tommy on it, while she opened the one next to it, with her name engraved on the side.

But when she opened it, a pit started to form in her stomach.

"These chests are empty.." Fundy spoke up, exactly when Eris had wanted to speak out as well.

"What?" Wilbur asked.

Eris looked up at Eret with questioning eyes and for the first time that day, he looked back up at her and matched her gaze. But the look he gave her, revealed everything as his dark eyes contained a pain and sorrow she had never seen.

He reached over and pushed a button that was placed in the middle of the room that she hadn't noticed before. Parts of the wall opened and out came Dream, George and Sapnap.

Eris immediately pulled the sword from her back and stepped in front of Tubbo as she still held eye contact with Eret.

Inside everything screamed and hurt, but at the outside she looked at him numbly as he spoke up,

"Down with the revolution boys. It was never meant to be."
