It's Sunday and I'm left with two days for finding the right dress and adding a date onto the list before cotillion.
Standing in the guest room of the Mikaelson's home, I'm now searching in the closet for the right dress.
What kind of dresses are made for a cotillion anyway? Or at least what you wear to one?
Throwing another dress onto the pile I've formed on the bed, I sigh and leave the closet to test out the pile of dresses.
The first one I try on is a strapless sparkly gold one that's length stops to my knees.
Once I'm comfortable in the fitting I walk over to the body mirror in the corner of the bedroom and I judge.
I look like a hooker.
I pout and hurriedly take off the dress and slip into the next one: a long dark blue dress that includes straps.
Walking to the mirror I judge again.
Woah... too much boobs - extremely revealing.
Nah, I'll pass.
Taking off the blue dress I slip into the next: a long silky red dress that includes arm straps revealing my shoulders, and I make myself comfortable as I walk towards the mirror to judge.
Perfect.

"Klaus, all I need is a date to this cotillion thing and I'm all set, I don't need a dress!" I exclaim as Klaus sits beside Elijah as we're in the den downstairs.
"Which you've said five times, I know. But it'll probably be better if you just let me buy you a new dress instead of those--" Klaus offers before I interrupt,
"I'm fine, Klaus. I'm perfectly happy with the one I have! It's comfy," I reason and frown.
"We know that Niklaus will bring back a pink tutu instead of what a normal person would buy someone for a cotillion - a dress, so let's just place matter into it's own hands and let me get you a dress for the cotillion, Hayley." Elijah blurts and I laugh hysterically as Klaus rolls his intimidating eyes.
I pause from laughing and glare at Klaus, "Oh come on, now that was funny. A tutu?" I prance over towards Klaus and his serious straightening look still plastered across his face and I sit on the other side of him with him now being in between Elijah and I, "Aw, dear Klaus, would you bring me back a tutu?" I tease and I hear Elijah chuckle.
"No, Hayley. I wouldn't bring you back a tutu," Klaus pauses from hearing me and Elijah's chuckle escape our lips before continuing, "But next time, whether it's a birthday party or next year's cotillion, I'm getting you a dress." Klaus promises and I see him crack a smile.
"Okay," I say.
He says nothing in return instead his smile fades as he jumps up, "Well, I'm going to get another drink." Klaus leaves us in the den when he goes into the kitchen.
Elijah coughs, "Hayley, there's something I want to ask you if you don't mind."
I arch an eyebrow and respond, "Yes?"
"Would you, Hayley Marshall let me escort you to this year's cotillion?" He asks while gazing into my brown eyes and my mouth slightly drops.
"Of course, Elijah." I smile widely.
"Well, I think I bloody broke the--" Klaus interjects as he walks into the den where Elijah and I are sitting, "What's the exchange of smiles here?" He refers to us.
"Nothing. Well not nothing really - Elijah, asked to escort me to the cotillion. And I said yes." I admit.
The expression on Klaus' face fades whatever it first was - a look of comfort and gladness. And now - more shocked and the look of emotionless upon him.
Klaus raises his eyebrows, "Oh."
I stand up from where I was sitting, "I should go get something to eat," I excuse.
Leaving now only Klaus and Elijah to themselves in the den.

I'm so so so so sorry for not updating in so long! I've been busy but I'm back now and I enjoyed the voting notifications I've gotten when I returned.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
And sorry to my Klayley shippers. It looks like Klaus won't be escorting Hayley to the cotillion, Elijah beat him to it. But I won't give out who's going to end up with who by the end or throughout the story. Until then stay tuned loves!
Comment & Vote... thanks <3
