Rebekah's POV:

Damon's leaning over me as I have his arm around my shoulder, helping him walk.

I drove back to New Orleans with Damon by my side and the whole ride home I thought I was going to disappear into a puddle of tears.

Now standing on my front porch with Damon, I burst into the house rushing towards the couch in the den when I lose grip of Damon and he falls onto the couch, groaning.

"It's gonna be okay, love." I hush him.

"Where's Hayley?" I hear Niklaus behind me ask after he came downstairs and I turn to face him.

I try to not look him in his eyes and cough, "Where's Elijah?"

"Upstairs," He furrows his eyebrows in notice of his question unanswered, "Where's Hayley..."

"I-- she..." I break unable to inform him about Hayley's disappearance by Kai.

"Where is she..." Niklaus notices worry in my voice and me trying to hide it isn't working out too well.

He takes a step closer to me when he glances at Damon behind me and a confused look plasters across his face.

"He made a deal... Nik." I spill, my body shaking.

Niklaus is going to break.

I may not have seen Hayley and Niklaus' affection for each other but I know it's there. I see it in his eyes and I see it in hers.
That day at cotillion, when they danced - I saw something. A spark if that's what you'd call it.
And now that she's gone... there's no telling how Klaus would take this in.

"What do you mean, 'he made a deal'?" He steps closer again.

"I told him no, he said if he has Hayley he'll return Damon," I hurriedly explain, taking a step back from him.

He pauses from walking towards me and shoots a glare at Damon.

"And who made this deal?" He narrows his eyebrows at me.

I swallow, "Kai."

Niklaus' eyes slightly widen and his mouth lightly drops.

He glances down at the floor not meeting with my eyes and he closes his own, "Do you know where she is?" He says softly.

"No." I admit. The moment I answer him his eyes close tighter and he takes in a deep breath.

"Nik I'm sorry,"

He opens his eyes slowly and looks back up at me, his blue-green eyes lock with my blue ones, and I realize the tear falling down his cheek.

"I have a plan..." He states softly.
