Chapter 22
"So you're suppose to do some spell to help locate where the jerk is and--"
"It's called a locator spell - and yes, it's gonna help track down whoever it is that you're so interested in finding." The witch -Sophie- interrupts me.
Obviously she doesn't know who she's looking for - or else she would've mentioned his name.
Could a witch even activate this 'locator spell' if they don't know who they're finding?
"You were thinking out loud, love." Klaus whispers.
I glance at everyone in the room to see that Sophie's sending me a deadly glare as if-- ohhh... oops.
Okay, I might've been thinking aloud, but that luckily didn't stop her from continuing the spell.
"Sorry," I say under my breath.
"I need something of his," Sophie exclaims needing a belonging of Kai's.
"Here," Elijah gives her a thin strand of dark brown hair.
My eyebrows furrow, "Is that his hair?!"
Elijah turns to face me, his usual straight and serious look now turned to me and he nods.
"How did you get that?" I ask emphasizing the entire question.
"The day we damaged his house, I found that on the ground, and since we couldn't get inside I figured this plan of finding a witch would cover it." He explains formally.
I lightly shrug in return and Sophie does some witchy voodoo to locate Kai.
Meanwhile the three of us - Elijah, Klaus and I surround Sophie and watch her work her magic.
At some point there's heavy wind blowing throughout the room we're standing in, I assume coming from her magic.
I hear her let out a deep breath, "Done."
"You mean you found him?" I ask curiously.
"More like he found us," She shoots a glare at the front door just before it get kicks down, startling me.
We all hear someone from outside yell out with an angrily deep voice,
"HAYLEY!"
I jump to the sound of my name being shouted out.
Before I could follow the voice Klaus goes before me and hurriedly walks towards the door.
"Klaus, don't." Sophie demands but Klaus keeps walking without hesitation.
Suddenly, Sophie aims her hand towards Klaus and snaps his neck without touching him.
A gasp escapes my lips and I rush over to him, getting down on my two knees beside him lying on the floor.
"Klaus," I whisper, cupping his cheeks as he lays breathless.
I glance at Sophie from behind me as she stands speechless, her jaw dropped.
I stand and shoot her a death glare, walking towards her.
She reaches out her hands for me to stop, "Now before you kill me, there's a reason I snapped his neck," She spills quickly.
Still glaring at her, I continue walking towards her to rip her throat out.
"Elijah told me what happened. Why you wanted to find him," She adds quickly but I still try approaching her.
"Klaus would've done something to Kai, and you wouldn't of liked it because you are the one who wants to make him suffer, right?" She makes her point and I stop.
"You deserve to be the one who kills Kai, slowly and painfully. And with Klaus just a few seconds ago about to make his move wouldn't of been fair. I did you a favor!" She exclaims, her hands still held up in front of her chest, showing her innocence.
I glare at her once more and eventually nod.
She's right. If Klaus would've still been up and alive right now it would've gotten out of hand.
I want to be the one to kill Kai. That's not a selfish act - Kai tortured me and Sophie's right: I deserve it - I deserve to kill Kai.
Klaus, on the other hand will eventually wake. He's a hybrid - getting your neck snapped if anything is nothing compared to taking a little nap... just waking up with a little pain. He should be up and back to normal in no time - just angrier than usual.
And why I freaked when his neck was snapped you ask? Well I love him, and snapping the neck of someone I love and care deeply about whether it kills them for good or not - I don't accept.
I turn to glance at the front door, remembering Kai awaiting outside.
I walk out the door with no hesitation and there was nothing.
Kai wasn't standing there or filling us with his rage.
Nothing.
I growl and walk back inside.
"I can track him down again," Sophie suggests standing beside Elijah.
I huff out a breath and nod.
"I actually have another idea," Soph -which I'm now calling her now- states walking towards me, taking my hand.
"What are you doing?" I arch an eyebrow.
"Taking us to him," She claims, confusing me.
"Why in the bloody world is my brother lying dead on the floor?" I hear a familiar concerned voice call out from behind me.
I turn to face Rebekah, who's standing in the doorway.
I crack a smile and rush towards her, "Rebekah," I squeeze her in a hug.
"Oh, it's a long story," I let go of her in return of answering her question.
"I called her and asked for her to return to us for today. I figured it do some cheering up for your day that's been stressful so far." Elijah speaks, smiling.
I send him a small smile in return.
"Okay, enough blabbering let's get to it!" Soph blurts.
She takes our hands for herself, Rebekah and I to find Kai.
Meanwhile after her calling out some spell, she lets lose of our hands and we open our eyes to see that we're now outside - as there are many of dead bodies lying on the ground in front of us.
Soph sighs, "Well it looks like he's been here," she humorlessly laughs, "I take it you made him extremely angry."
"Come on, we need to keep going. The scent I'm getting from this bloodbath shows it just happened so he couldn't have gotten far." Rebekah informs, leading the way.
