Kindness always wins
*Celestia*
The sun warms my face as I step out of the courthouse into the bustling city. Tom, holds my hand firmly, while Alan, leads the way. I can feel the weight of my heavily pregnant belly as we tread the sidewalk. I only have about two months till my due date and I have started to get rather big lately..
"Tom, Celestia, how's the case going ?" A reporter calls out, his camera flashing like a strobe light.
Alan steps forward, his face calm and collected. "Things are going well, and we expect a positive outcome". He states confidently. "But we can't of course reveal any details".
We continue walking, trying to ignore the barrage of questions from the reporters. Eventually, we reach a quaint little café and slip inside. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, a stark contrast to the courthouse.
As we settle into our seats, Tom reaches for my hand again. "How are you feeling, babe ?"
"I'm okay," I reply, smiling at him. "Thank you for always thinking of me".
"Of course, I wouldn't want it any other way". He says softly.
Alan interjects, "Let's discuss the case. It is going better than even I expected, it seems Felicity's story is falling apart".
Tom nods, his jaw clenching. "Good. It's absurd to claim that Celestia paid to be inseminated with my sperm, it makes no sense at all".
I can't help but chime in, "And to suggest I was supposed to be your surrogate ? It's ridiculous. How could she believe those stories would hold up".
Alan leans back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Vicktoria, Felicity's lawyer, is a calculated woman, so we still have to be careful. But we have the truth on our side. We will win this, don't worry".
Tom squeezes my hand, reassuring me. "We are in this together, Celestia. We will protect our family".
As we continue to chat over lunch, I feel more confident than ever that we will come out on top. With Tom and Alan by my side, we will overcome this hurdle and finally be able to focus on our growing family, hopefully before I give birth.
After we finish our lunch, we walk back to the courthouse, the energy outside has shifted. A group of Tom's fans has gathered, and they look angry. As Felicity and her lawyer, Vicktoria, approach the entrance, the crowd starts throwing things at them and yelling harsh insults.
My heart races, and I instinctively move closer to Tom. Despite the fact that I have no love for either woman, this is not something I condone.
To my surprise, Tom gives my hand a squeeze, then he steps up and shields Felicity and Vicktoria from the onslaught, raising his hands to stop the chaos.
"Hey! This is not the way to support me. You only risk hurting our case". Tom shouts, his voice firm yet calm. "I don't want anyone to act hateful. Instead, focus on being positive and showing support".
The crowd quiets down, and some even murmur apologies. Tom's actions leave a profound impact on everyone, including Felicity and Vicktoria, who look stunned by his protection.
As we enter the courthouse, I can't help but feel proud of Tom. Even in the midst of our own personal battle, he chose to stand up against hate and promote positivity. It's just another reminder of why I love him so much.
Inside the courthouse, the room buzzes with anticipation. The judge calls the court to order and everyone takes their seats. The moment of truth arrives, and Tom is called to the witness stand.
Alan begins questioning him. "Tom, can you tell the court how it felt when you were told that a, then stranger, Celestia, was pregnant with your child ?"
Tom takes a deep breath, looking thoughtful. "I was torn because I have always dreamt of being a father. Felicity and I had tried for a long time to have a child with no luck. When I found out about Celestia, I was shocked, but also hopeful that my dream of fatherhood could still become a reality".
His words resonate through the courtroom and I can see the empathy in the eyes of the jury.
Alan continues his questioning, "How did Felicity seem to feel about this situation when she first found out ?"
Tom hesitates for a moment before answering, "At first, she wanted Celestia to have an abortion. But she was tired of the hormones and treatments we had been going through. Eventually, she seemed to come around to the idea, maybe even thinking that this was a good opportunity for us".
Alan then asks, "Why were you and Felicity seeking fertility treatments in the first place ?"
Tom looks pained as he recalls, "Felicity had claimed to be pregnant and then had a miscarriage. After that we tried naturally for a long time, but nothing happened. But now, I feel like it was a lie. She might have realized I was about to end the relationship and used the idea of a pregnancy to keep us together".
Alan raises an eyebrow and addresses the judge. "Your Honor, we would like to call in Felicity's doctor from that time to determine if she was, in fact, ever pregnant".
The judge nods in agreement. This testimony could be a turning point in our case, and I cling to Tom's hand, praying for the truth to finally come to light.
The court session comes to an end for the day, with the doctor scheduled to testify in two days. As we gather our belongings and prepare to leave the courthouse, Vicktoria, Felicity's lawyer, stops us.
She looks directly at Tom, her expression softening. "I just wanted to thank you for stepping in earlier and stopping the attack against us. It was a commendable act, and I appreciate it".
Tom nods, acknowledging her gratitude. "No one deserves to be treated with hate or violence, regardless of the circumstances".
Vicktoria gives a small smile before walking away, leaving us to exit the courthouse. As we make our way back to the car, I can't help but reflect on the unexpected turn of events. Despite the tension and conflict between us and Felicity's side, Tom's actions demonstrated that kindness and compassion can still shine through.
As we drive home, I realize that no matter the outcome of the trial, Tom has shown that kindness is always an option. I could not be more proud of him.
