Courtney and her friends, Beth and Diane, were walking home from a Halloween party. Some boy, Toby, and his friends always tried to prank them. They were at the party too. Surprisingly, they didn't try to prank Courtney and her friends. However, they couldn't let their guard down. So, they decided to cut through the woods, hoping to lose them.

"This forest is really creepy. Ah! What was that?". "That was an Owl, Beth." said Courtney with her usual sarcasm. "Grow up!". Diane looked around. "Are you sure the boys won't find us out here?" She asked. "Positive." Courtney responded.

Just then, a large snake dropped on them from the tree above! All three girls screamed and ran further into the forest. "I didn't think snakes did that." Beth said, out of breath. Now, they were completely lost. They had absolutely no idea where to go!

Suddenly, a figure jumped out from behind a tree! It was a Vampire! Beth screamed upon noticing how detailed the costume was. It was more like a costume that would be worn for a movie, rather than Halloween.

"Well look what we have here?" The Vampire spoke. "Humans. Foolish humans. Too bad they're about to be our supper!" "'Our'?" Diane trembled.

At that moment, three more characters came out of hiding. One was a brutish, savage Werewolf. The other was a slimy, axolotl-like Gillman. The last one was a decaying, rotting zombie.

Without waiting any longer, all three girls turned around and ran. They didn't stop until they were certain the monsters stopped pursuing them. It was 3 a.m. when they finally found their way out of that forest. The town they found themselves in didn't look familiar. Their walk home was eerily quiet. The night of Halloween was dead. Beth asked Courtney where she thinks the monsters came from. Then, she realized! "Toby!"

The next day, in the High School cafeteria, Toby was peacefully eating his lunch. Then, Courtney went up to him and smacked him! "What was that for?" He said, rubbing his cheek. "That was for that prank last night! We were lost in those woods for 3 hours because of you! My friends were really scared! Beth was in tears. She's very sensitive, you know. Shame on you!"

Toby looked at her confused. "It wasn't even a real snake, settle down.". "Yes, the snake and those monsters! Where did you get those costumes?". Again, Toby was confused. "There weren't any monsters. What are you talking about? We just dropped a big rubber snake on you.". Courtney then got goosebumps. If those monsters weren't Toby and his friends in costumes, who were they? More importantly, were they even costumes?
