26 May 1999, Burke Cottage.

Katherine and Theo arrived at Burke Cottage, though they had no idea who Aimee Burke was or what she was like, all Theo knew was that her family was a member of the Sacred 28. 28 pureblood families, still considered 'pureblood'. Something Katherine saw as utterly barbaric.

They knocked on the door, a woman almost aged 40, opened the door, she had long blonde curly hair. She wore a long-sleeved jumper and jeans. This wasn't the kind of pureblood Katherine expect she thought the Burke's were of high social status.

"May I help you?" she asked

"Mrs Burke-

"Mrs Burke, was my mother, I prefer Aimee thank you," she said

"Okay, Aimee we're looking for your nephew Max Burke, is he here," Katherine asked

"Merlin's beard what's he done now," she said,

"Nothing, we're just looking for him, there's been an attack and we think he may know something that could help," Theo stated, Aimee eyed them carefully.

"Let me see some I.D," she asked Theo showed her his Auror's badge, Aimee then turned to Katherine

"She doesn't have one, she's a healer at Mungos," Theo stated Aimee nodded,

Aimee Burke gestured for Katherine and Theo to enter her home, they glanced around her home, she had many photos hung around her home, including a picture of her who Katherine assumed was her husband with Harry's parents James and Lily, with Harry, Mia and their own children, though Harry didn't look much older than Alex.

"Has Max ever been to Knockturn Alley," Theo asked

"I should hope not, he knows better than to wander down there," Aimee said, disgusted that they would even suggest her nephew going to Knockturn Alley.

"When was the last time you saw Max?" Katherine asked

"He should be at Hogwarts, he went back to finish his last year," Aimee told them, Katherine and Theo nodded

"Will your husband be joining us?" Theo asked, hoping he could offer some extra information.

"I'm afraid not, he going away for a few nights every month," Aimee said, "for work," Katherine and Theo nodded.

"Well, thank you for your time, if you see your nephew could you tell him to report to the ministry," Theo told her, she nodded, seeing them out of her house, she closed the door behind them.

"Where too now?" Katherine asked

"Hogwarts, see if McGonagall has seen him," Theo suggested, Katherine nodded as they both apparated to Hogwarts.

At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,

Katherine and Theo waited for McGonagall to come back with the paperwork regarding Max Burke, it didn't say much just that he was a Gryffindor with an act for pranking Slytherins. Theo cringed remembering when he once pranked him. Nothing if his paperwork suggested he was doing anything sketchy.

"What now?" Katherine asked, her profession was Healing not investigative work, that was Theo's job.

"Do you still have the memories on you?" he asked she nodded, pulling a vial out of her pocket.

"We could look again to see if there's something we missed," he suggested, Katherine was surprised he suggested looking at the memories again, they made her feel uneasy whenever Theo was affectionate or fatherly towards the children. But she nodded and poured the vial into the pensive.

12 March 2004

They landed in the Malfoy Manor, immediately shouting roared from the dining room, voice the were recognised as Theo and Draco Malfoy.

"I have a son, do you realise what danger you could have put my family in," Draco barked

"And what about my family, Malfoy," Theo warned "I didn't know who else to go to,"

"What do you need?" Draco said, his voice still tense but understanding.

"For Katherine, Alex and Lisa to stay here," Theo said, practically begging him,

Draco nodded. Theo walked out of the room, a few seconds later, he returned with Katherine, Alex and Lisa who appeared to be four and two years old.

"Uncle Drakey," Alex said, running over to him,

"Where's Scorp," Lisa asked,

"Upstairs, you two go and find him," he told them the two small children ran upstairs to find Scorpius, Katherine too walked upstairs with the children. Draco turned his attention back to Theo.

"If you don't stop you're going to get yourself killed, stop looking for the warrior, for your family's safety," Draco begged.

"I'll do whatever it takes to protect my family," he said, "are you by my side or in my way," Theo warned

Katherine and Theo remained silent, Katherine saw first hand the length Theo was willing to go to in order to protect her and the kids. Theo on the other hand couldn't believe the dynamics between himself and Draco they had been best friends since they were young boys, nothing could cause such a loud argument between them.

At 3 Greenfield Street,

Katherine had just got back home, Theo also came back with her, Harry wouldn't be back with the children for another hour, he had taken them to his James and Lily's with Ginny. Katherine realised that the place was a complete mess, but have three young children around would make it this messy. She began to pick up toys, Theo also helped her clean up.

"Who's this winged horse?" Theo asked, holding a photo frame.

"He's called Spartan, my cousin got into trouble with the ministry she had to work at a sanctuary for one summer, but she really enjoyed, for my 16th birthday, she invited me to the sanctuary, where I got to ride the Abraxan, it was one greatest experience of my life," Katherine said,

Not realising how much she had told him, they actually had a conversation, no bitterness between each other, a genuine conversation, not about the case, or the children or the memories. And it was nice.
