"Hey, Mom." Jisung put on his most innocent face as he approached our parents. Our mom draped the dish towel around the oven handle, turning to Jisung. "I was wandering if we could go out and see a movie. Johnny said he could drive some, and Hyunji can drive the others. Afterwards, we wanted to stay at Jaemin's since it isn't that far from the theater."

"Awe, we're not cool enough for you?" Mom squeezed his cheeks, cooing. Jisung pulled away with an annoyed expression, which he soon replaced with something bright to help convince her.

Of course, she wouldn't allow us to go to the house at the end of the road at night. It was currently just rolling around to seven, so the slightest dash of pink lingered in the sky, but the sun was no longer seen. We decided a movie would be a good excuse, but we needed something else to make it last longer, since Johnny dared us all to stay until at least one in the morning.

"First to leave has to kiss their crush," Johnny established before we comprised our plan.

"What if we don't have one?" Jisung asked.

      "Then kiss your mom."

"The only lady he will ever kiss," I teased.

"Okay, Jisung," our mom gave in. "You guys can go. Be careful. I love you!" Jisung was quickly hidden by our mom's arms engulfing him. I heard him grunt in embarrassment before finally escaping. Hana, Jueun, Haechan, and Johnny had to give all they had not to burst out laughing.

Johnny loaded his car with the first people to arrive there: Mark, Jeno, Renjun, and Jaemin. We also stuffed a couple of the backpacks we decided on bringing into his car's trunk. We filled the backpacks with some items we thought were important. My car could only fit four others besides me, the driver. Jueun took shotgun and Mi-Cha and Hana slid into the back. Chenle and Jisung glanced at each other.

"How are we going to make this work?" Mi-Cha asked. "Will we have to take another car?"

"We shouldn't take another car," Jueun spoke up. "Shove Chenle in the trunk."

"Guys, chill," Hana started, unbuckling from the middle seat. "I'll just sit on Mi-Cha's lap."

Before Mi-Cha had any say in this, Hana slid onto her lap on the side behind the driver's seat, stretching the seatbelt over the both of them. Chenle waited for Jisung to get in before he took the window seat. Jisung frantically started buttoning up Hana's flannel he still had on.

"Couldn't we have changed back before leaving?" he asked.

"What's the fun in that?" I asked as I started to pull the car out. Johnny followed my car close behind.

"It would be great if we got there quickly," Jisung said. "My legs are a little cramped back here."

"Or you could stop being a giant," Jueun jokingly suggested.

"It's just down the road. Patience, young one," I sighed, looking at him through the rear view mirror. He adverted eye contact.

"Chenle, are you kicking my seat?" Jueun asked, turning to look at the pink haired boy.

"Sorry," he apologized, sitting straighter. "It's tight back here and I was moving around to give Jisung more room."

"You don't need to give him anymore room, he's just being sour right now. Jisung will be fine for the one minute it will take," I assured.

The drive was extremely short, as I had said earlier. I pulled my car up to the very start of the driveway, and Johnny was close behind. Everyone climbed out of the car, acting dramatic and gasping for air.

"Save your breath for when we get locked in the stuffy attic," Jueun said, trying to scare us. "The electricity works here, right?"

I nodded. "My dad just keeps it off since electricity costs money."

"Can we turn it on?" Mi-Cha asked. She rubbed her elbow and stared up at the dark windows.

"I guess we could." I shrugged. What harm could come from leaving it on for a while?

I led the way to the house, directing us towards the garage doors.

"What? Are we too cool to go in through the front?" Johnny asked, smiling. I looked at the ground, starting to blush.

"No," I replied. "The front door handle doesn't work. My dad's looking into getting a new one soon. We have to go in through the garage."

"This is awesome," he awed, looked up the big white, two-story house. "Jueun mentioned an attic. Can we go up to it?"

"Sure. We can also go to the basement if you want." My mind raced to the thought of me and Johnny going down to the basement together. Me getting scared. Him holding me in his comforting arms. I almost melted right where I was standing.

"Well, if you aren't going to open it," Hana began, pushing up the garage door. I shook my head, snapping out of my fantasy.

The garage was dusty and smelled like mold. Everyone stepped in after me. Mark, Jisung, and Hana had taken out their phones and used the flashlights to shine around the walls.

"This place really goes down fast," I sighed. "The last renters left this house last March, and no one really comes in it anymore. Except my dad, who makes sure there aren't any druggies hanging around, and to keep the yard mowed. He doesn't bother keeping it cleaned since people keep leaving so fast. I guess pests and insects are starting to claim it now. Maybe even an unwanted being."

Jueun oohed in a shaky voice to sound creepy. Mi-Cha nudged Jueun to stop.

"I found the electrical box," Jaemin called from one side. Over on the wall beside the door hung the box. Johnny flicked a couple switches, but nothing turned on.

"It isn't working." Johnny rubbed his chin, inspecting the different buttons as Jaemin held up another flashlight.

"It's cause you have to also flip the switches in the rooms, you dum-dum!" Jueun slapped the back of Johnny's head and opened the door into the house. She shined a light of her own around to find the light switch and flicked it up. She then turned to Johnny while pointing at the now bright mud room, a fake-shocked expression on her face. "How did that happen?" she asked sarcastically.

Johnny rolled his eyes as he started into the house. I chucked, leading the rest in. Jueun continued in front, turning up the light switches as we entered until we arrived in the bare living room. The whole house was sort of styled in a 1970's way. There was a bright red shag carpet and the tiles, along with the counters and walls in every room, were very retro.

"Hey." Johnny scuffed his foot on the carpet. "You and this red-shag match." He ruffled Haechan's vibrant hair.

Mark let out a little laugh, pointing at Haechan's hair and the ground.

"Well, if you're gonna make us stay in here until one in the morning," Mi-Cha started, not looking at all thrilled, "what do you expect us to do?"

"We could continue to play truth or dare?" Chenle suggested.

"Good idea," Johnny agreed, sitting down. The rest of us joined him on the ground. "Let's see. Hyunji was last to be asked, so it's her turn."

Johnny saying my name made it almost impossible not to smile. "Johnny, truth or dare?"

      "Dare. I'm feeling frisky tonight."

I laughed. "I dare you to show us the most embarrassing picture you have on your phone. Jueun has to help so you don't cheat us out."

Jueun cackled evilly as she looked over at Johnny's phone. She gasped before bursting into snickers. She pointed at the screen. "Please use that one!"

      "No!"

"It sounds pretty embarrassing, you should use it," I told Johnny.

He grumbled something before letting his phone fall into the middle of our circle. All of us crowded around the phone at once. I squeezed between Mi-Cha and Haechan. Haechan glanced at me when my shoulder grazed his, then he backed out of the circle. What's your deal?

I shook off my slight irritation as I directed back to the phone. I looked down to see what looked like a thirteen-year-old Johnny with hair just to his shoulders. Johnny had on cherry red sunglasses with frames shaped as stars, and a white rose was in his mouth. Two girls were standing at his side. Johnny happily had his arms around them, but they didn't seem as excited. Everyone, including me, rolled onto our backs. Johnny quickly snatched his phone and shoved it into his sweatshirt. Chenle dolphin squealed so hard I was surprised the windows didn't shatter. His squeals set off a chain reaction, causing us to laugh harder.

"Hah. Hah. Hah," Johnny fake laughed. He tried to take attention of of it. "Let's go explore the house." Johnny got up on his feet fast.

"I'm sure whatever happens tonight," Haechan started, getting up after Johnny, "it surely can't be as scary as that picture."
