Chapter 48: A Silver Gun

When the sun rose at dawn, Jimin's eyes opened in the early morning. This was hours before the thunderstorm as Jimin began to feel somewhat scared of what could happen. He couldn't seem to put his finger on the feeling and question what this truly was. There was something off about the day… The way the clouds moved, the way the sun beamed down on the city alone, or even the plans Jungkook had for the gang today. Jimin felt as if he wanted to stay where he was just to spend more time with Jungkook… But deep down, he knew Jungkook would never leave his gang alone.

Even then, Jimin just wanted to bail out for today. On the other hand, Jimin just couldn't trust Jungkook alone in the gang… Mostly because he still worried about the chances of Jungkook killing someone. The man couldn't tell when and where Jungkook would do this… But most likely when he has the power to shoot someone with a gun. Thinking about it always sent fear through his skin like a bullet shot into water. Of course, Jimin wanted to believe his lover wouldn't do any harm… yet, he also doubted that. Even one week worth of therapy wouldn't be able to comfort Jungkook and change his heart if the day ever comes when he has an urge to kill. Thoughts on that alone, left Jimin afraid deep down.

Jimin sat alone on his bed in the morning and quickly looked around. Trying to find Jungkook, but the young man wasn't in the room only Peanut was over at the edge of the bed. Last night after their intercourse, they took a shower to go out for dinner, and cleaned up the bed. Setting the covers into the washing machine and dryer soon after. After the whole night, they fell asleep on Jimin's bed and cuddled while wearing only their underwear. Jimin thought back at the lovely night as he noticed Peanut stretch and make his way towards Jimin to meow.

"Ah, of course Jungkook let you in." Jimin chuckled as he raised his hand to guide it along Peanut's fur. "You're so quiet… I hope you didn't hear me last night…" Jimin mentioned. Observing the kitten move it's head along the touch and purr as well. Jimin took a moment to caress the kitten after neglecting him all day yesterday. As Jimin looked at the kitten, the bedroom door opened and in walked Jungkook. Wearing different clothes from the ones he wore last night. The younger stepped in with a black T-shirt tenting over his blue jeans, and black boots as well. Looking as if he wasn't going to work for the day.

"Good morning, Jimin." Jungkook spoke happily as he walked over to his lover, yet, kept one hand balled into a fist. Almost as if he was hiding something. "Today is another big day, My Swan…"

"It's just another mission, Jungkook." Giggled Jimin as his hands continued to caress Peanut until Jungkook leaned in to give his soulmate a kiss on the lips. "What's so special about today..?"

"Well… I know it's stupid to count the months… But, exactly one month ago, we met… and I wanted to give you something to remember the time…" Jungkook mentioned as he rose his hands to cover Jimin's eyes. Hearing his lover giggle cutely after. "Remember, you don't have to give me anything… all you need to give in return is your love… I don't want anything but you and no other gift could compare to what you are to me..." Jungkook whispered delicately. Just as Jimin kept his hands over Jungkook's hand that blinded his vision, the younger pulled his hand back and that's when Jimin opened his eyes to see a silver necklace. The necklace was the most precious and breathtaking thing Jimin has ever seen and let alone, the charm of a silver swan was in Jungkook's hands as he held it for Jimin.

"Jungkook… its beautiful… you didn't-" Just then, Jungkook unraveled the necklace around his hand and then raised the silver chain to Jimin just to clip it on.

"Don't say I didn't have to do this for you. Jimin, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me! you deserve the world… Not just a necklace and not just any world, my world." Jungkook mentioned as Jimin looked at the charm of the silver swan and rose his gaze back onto Jungkook before smiling happily and moving his head in to kiss his boyfriend. "I bet you didn't think I celebrated the months, did you? Every month with you is worth celebrating."

"I love you, so much…" Whispered Jimin to his lover's ear out of all the love he could muster from this sweet moment. "Then, let's… Spend our anniversary together… we could schedule our mission for another rainy day. Today is our one month anniversary. I didn't really think you would do something for me on our first month… so, let's do something and spend the day together."

"Well, we do need to report the group by tomorrow… Why don't we do the mission today and after, we can spend time together. It won't take long. Our missions are only half an hour! We'll have time to come back and watch the rain together!" Jungkook promised Jimin with a caring smile over his face. "In a few hours into the afternoon, rain is predicted to fall." Jungkook mentioned as Jimin only distracted himself by holding Peanut up in his arms and staring at him with such care. "What's wrong? Is it the necklace?"

"No, it's not the necklace… I just feel like something is going to happen." Jimin mentioned and all Jungkook did was pull his lover close just to kiss his forehead carefully. "Jungkook… Listen to me…"

"I am! I just think you're nervous… That's all. I promise, nothing bad will happen today…" Jungkook assured as Jimin only let out a sigh while he hugged Peanut closer. Throughout the whole day, rain didn't pour until the day stretched further into the afternoon. This was when the sun fell further down. Eventually, the rainstorm kicked in and covered the sun with the Grey clouds ahead. Forming such a dark sky that seemed rather intimidating than before. As the couple walked to the base with an umbrella they shared, Jimin noticed the rain fall harder onto the pavement than any object that was drawn to the ground by gravity. Jimin however, took this as a sign.

"It's raining harder than I thought… I'm surprised I've been doing this for far too long and I've never gotten sick! Jungkook mentioned as he let out a chuckle right after. There, Jimin slowly fixed his vision onto Jungkook where the younger still walked with Jimin to the base.

"Maybe it's a sign! We should fall back and forget the mission." Jimin added as Jungkook scoffed and kept walking. No matter what, Jungkook didn't listen and this was enough to make Jimin feel helpless. There was no way Jimin had any plans on leaving Jungkook alone either. Even when it rains, Jimin knew he couldn't convince his lover as soon as they reached the base and geared up for the mission. Every second Jimin spent putting on his mask and slipping on his black attire along with a bulletproof vest, his heart grew heavy as he hid his swan necklace underneath the black coat.

Jimin took a look at himself in the mirror of the office and then listened to Jungkook ordering his gang, telling them the mission at hand and everyone cheered him and respected the leader's words. Everyone except for Park Jimin. Jimin kept trying to think of ways to bail out of it, but he knew he couldn't make the gang upset. As Jimin stepped out of the office, Seokjin approached him and rose the mask over his face just to look at him in concern.

"Jimin, are you okay? You don't look too good… you should stand down from this mission…" Seokjin worried like a Mother to Park Jimin and stepped closer just to see Jimin hide his own worries behind his Kitsune mask. "What's wrong? Are you pregnant?"

"N-No… What the fuck? Jin!" Jimin laughed and raised the mask above his face to look at the man. "I just… feel nervous about the mission. That's all…" Jimin told Seokjin. Throughout his time with the gang, Jimin grew close to Seokjin than any other gang member. Of course, this was the only member Jungkook allowed Jimin to go near.

"Don't worry, this is a big mission. Of course you'll feel nervous!" Assured the older and Jimin just hoped this was exactly what Seokjin mentioned. Later on, gang members sat on their motorcycles and there was also a new truck to help carry the stacks of wons. Of course, this truck was painted in black and disguised as a factory serving one of Jungkook's branches. This was to wear off any suspicions, if the police officers were to ever catch up with them.

Jungkook rode off into the cold rain with Jimin and felt his lover cling onto him close. This alone left Jungkook to rethink having Jimin participate in the mission for the day. For some odd reason, Jungkook also felt nervous about the mission alone and had to think of something quick. Feeling as if he didn't want Jimin to participate for this mission for the fact that Jimin could get hurt. There was only a handful of missions Jimin couldn't be in and this was it. This was finally dangerous enough to make Jungkook feel that Jimin couldn't follow inside.

Eventually, rain trampled down their masks and down the motorcycles. It seemed as if the afternoon got darker and darker by the minute until they reached the warehouse after a thirty minute ride. Once they finally arrived, the gang was quick to separate as Jungkook got off the bike and looked at Jimin. Being quick to grab Jimin by the hand and stop him from following the gang around the warehouse. "Swan… I don't want you to go in… I feel nervous and.. I don't want you to get hurt even if you have a vest on." Jungkook assured as Jimin raised his hands to hold onto Jungkook's.

"Then…. Then you stay with me too… stay with me here…" Jimin sputtered as Jungkook shook his head and caressed Jimin's neck carefully. Making Jimin tilt his head to avoid his lover's comforting touch any longer. "Six… if you feel nervous, we could stick together and make it go away!" Whispered Jimin and Jungkook refused to stand by his Swan. He just knew he had to protect Jimin by making him stay out of this mission entirely. Yet, not participating was enough to make Jeon Jungkook seem like a coward in front of his gang…

"I'll leave you here with Jin." Jungkook promised before he fixed his hands onto a Silver Ruger Super RedHawk Linebaugh. 500 Gun. The silver gun alone made a chill run down Jimin's spine as Jungkook loaded the gun and raised his mask once more to give Jimin a kiss once he exposed his lips to his lover. With that, Jungkook was on his way inside to call Seokjin out just so he could stay with Jimin and protect him. Jimin's heart grew heavy as he waited by the blind spot. This is where no cameras to the warehouse was planted and no one could find the motorcycles parked at every section of the street nearby.

"Oh Jungkook…. Jungkook please come quick…" Jimin thought in his head and adjusted the mask over his face. Just then, he heard footsteps far behind him and that's when he heard a man call out to him in the heavy rain.

"Jimin?!" Shouted the familiar man recognizing Jimin's pink hair. Suddenly, Jimin took a glimpse back and gasped. Seeing Seung-Woo standing there in the flesh as Jimin looked around before rushing to the man, just to get him to leave. "Jimin… What are you doing here?"

"S-Seung-Woo, you can't be here! You have to go!" Jimin urged the man. Knowing well that if the man stayed here longer, he would see that Jungkook was a gang leader and this was enough to ruin him. "Please…" Jimin begged and it didn't take long for the man to connect the dots and see what Jimin was up to."

"Jimin… Are you… In a gang? Jimin, this life isn't for you! Come with me, I'll take you somewhere safe… You'll get caught and you'll regret this!" Seung-Woo continued as Jimin took a moment to wonder, what was Seung-Woo doing out in the rain at this hour? The busy man always seemed to be doing something but somehow, recognized Jimin in his mask so suddenly? Jimin knew something was up as he took a step back and glared at the man. "Jimin?"

"How did you know… I was here?" Jimin asked as the man took a pause as if he was going through excuses to bring up in his head. "Are you… Following me?" Jimin asked and that's when… He heard gunshots being aimed and fired skyward and far from the area. Within seconds, Jimin froze. Building up the courage to finally look back and see Jungkook standing there with his Oni mask over his scary glare and the silver gun locked into his hand. "S-Six!" Jimin called out. Knowing that he shouldn't bring up Jungkook's name out in the mission.

"Get the fuck away from him… He's mine!" Jungkook shouted and made Jimin rush over to stand before Jungkook. Listening to Jungkook like this made Jimin grow afraid as he tried to hug Jungkook and calm him down, But Jungkook refused. Pointing his gun at Seung-Woo before he froze up at the spot.

"S-Six… SIX DON'T! DON'T SHOOT!" Jimin begged and that's when the man slowly lowered his gun and broke into silence. "Six…?" Jimin whispered as he looked back to see Seung-Woo oddly smile. Could this man be the killer from the start? The way he looked at Jungkook made it seem as if the mask wasn't enough to hide who he truly was. "Honey… what's wrong?" Jimin asked in worry until he heard Jungkook's sharp gasp to inhale with the mask over his face.

"J-Junghyun…?" Jungkook's voice cracked as he loaded the gun once more in anger and tightened his grip around the handle of the gun. Pointing it at Seung-Woo while Jimin looked back at the man Jungkook called Jeon Junghyun; Jungkook's late brother who apparently, was standing before them in the flesh.

"And so… This is where it all began…"
