Hi! I'm uploading this early because I'm going to be busy moving today. I hope that you enjoy this early update. Thanks for reading!

"Ms. Spirits, could we talk to you for just a minute?" Roman heard as he was shuffling out of the classroom door, pausing and peering back in to see Patton and Virgil stepping up to their teachers desk.

"Of course, what is it that you two need?" The friendly old woman asked as Roman hid himself right beside of the door, listening in.

He wasn't entirely sure why he chose to listen in now-for all he knew they could be asking a question on the homework they were given, but he had a suspicion that it wasn't. He had noticed the way they waited for everyone, including him, to step out of the door before they approached her, and he couldn't help but wonder if this had anything to do with what they had been talking about in her class before. He tilted his head closer to the door, trying to hear them better.

"This is kind of an odd question," he heard Virgil saying, leaning even closer. Surely he was going to figure out what they were hiding now. "It's... about a student that used to go here. Logan Sanders?"

There was a pause for a minute, and Roman frowned. He tried to peek into the door, finding Ms. Spirits looking down at her desk for a while, thinking.

"Yes, I remember him. He was an amazing student. Very quiet, though." She said, nodding slowly. Roman saw Virgil and Patton sharing a look before they turned back to her.

"Do you remember what happened to him...?" Patton asked this time, and the teacher nodded.

"Yes, of course. It was terrible what happened to him." She sighed. "Another student found him in the bathroom. They never did find out what happened to him exactly... Though at first, it seemed pretty obvious."

"What did people think had happened?" Virgil asked again this time, sounding concerned. Roman didn't understand why any of this mattered to him-the kid had died years ago. It was terrible, but it wasn't like Virgil knew him or anything.

Roman thought about it for a moment longer, frowning. Now that he thought about it, wasn't Logan the name of the student they were planning to meet in the library? That couldn't be the same person they were talking about now. Were these two really that insane? He shook his head, ignoring his thoughts and going back to listening.

"Logan... didn't have many friends," Ms. Spirits said simply. "Other kids thought he was strange. He was picked on a lot. A lot of the teachers thought at first that maybe their bullying had gotten violent enough that..."

The teacher paused, clearing her throat. Roman saw her wiping at her eyes, and suddenly he felt bad for acting as if Logan's death was no big deal. It had happened years ago, but that didn't make it any less terrible.

"Of course, no one wants to believe that anyone could do something like that. Especially not a kid! So when the police eventually decided they didn't think it was a murder it was a huge relief to everyone else." She frowned. "Of course, I still believe it could've been one of them."

"Ms. Spirits... are there any names you remember specifically of kids that bullied Logan?" Patton asked, and the teacher nodded.

"I could write them down for you, if you'd like?" She offered, and both Patton and Virgil nodded immediately. The teacher pulled out a pen and a notepad, adjusting her glasses and writing down the names. Roman wished he could get closer to see what she was writing.

"Thank you," Patton and Virgil both told their teacher as she handed the note over. She smiled at both of them, shaking her head.

"It's no problem at all. Tell Logan I hope he can figure things out." She said. Roman, Patton, and Virgil all seemed shocked and confused, and Roman started to wonder if everyone in his school was insane.

"How did you-" Virgil started to question, and Mr. Spirits cut him off.

"Sweetie, where do you think the ghost rumors started? I knew from the beginning that he was here, and I knew that you guys could only be asking because you wanted to help him." She explained with a quiet laugh. "He also follows you around a lot, Virgil. I do have to ask that you stop talking through notes while in my class. You need to pay attention."

"I-oh. S-sorry," Virgil muttered, sharing a confused glance with Patton, who looked equally as shocked as him.

"Now, you two need to get going to your next class before you're late." She said, both of them realizing the time. They said their goodbyes to the teacher, thanking her one more time before they began making their way to the door. When they made it out Roman was already gone, halfway to his next class. He had already made up his mind, and knew he was going to be in the library that afternoon before Patton and Virgil could get there.

"That... was weird." Patton laughed, not knowing how else to respond to the situation.

"Definitely." Virgil agreed, and looked around he empty hall. "If you're there Logan, I knew you followed me everywhere!"

"Oh, shut up." Logan spoke beside of them, sighing loudly. "What did you expect me to do all day, sit in an empty library and die of boredom?"

"You mean die again from boredom?" Patton pointed out with a laugh.

"Whatever, just get to class like she told you to and stop tormenting me." Logan muttered, Patton and Virgil laughing but not saying anything else as they continued on their way to class.

Roman moved through the hallways as quickly as he possibly could, happy knowing that his classroom was much closer to the library than Virgil and Patton's classes. He tried to avoid running into any people, apologizing when he failed but not pausing the check on them. He had to make it into the library first if he wanted to have time to hide so that Virgil and Patton didn't see him.

When he finally did make it he paused to peer into the doorway, seeing no one inside. He sighed in relief, opening the door and stepping inside. He looked around for a moment to find a good place to hide. He considered hiding behind a bookcase, but feared that would be too obvious.

After seeing one of the tables furthest away from the door to the library he made his way over to that, pulling out one of the chairs and pausing to look around one final time to be sure no one was there. Seeing no one he moved to sit underneath the desk, pulling the chair back in to hide behind. The chair was big enough to hide him, and he could see around it almost everywhere in the library. It was the perfect spot for him to spy on the two strange students.

It didn't take long before the library doors swung open again, and Roman immediately looked up to find both of the students he was waiting for. They both seemed to already be talking to each other but it wasn't until they got closer that he could finally make out what they were saying.

"We have four names," he heard Virgil saying, looking down at the note their teacher had given them. "Desmond Martinez, Sebastian Lang, Christopher Sheridan, and Archer Gallagher."

"It couldn't have been Archer," Roman heard a voice he didn't recognize, wondering who else was in the room. He assumed he was standing in the one place the chair he was hiding behind his from him, and wondered how Patton and Virgil managed to find so many people who believed in the same crazy story as them. He heard the voice continue on with explaining. "Archer wasn't in school that day. He had been sick the whole week."

"Well that's one name we can cross off," Patton noted positively. "That's one less person we have to find."

"How exactly are we going to find any of these people anyways?" Virgil asked, sounding worried. "We don't know anything about any of these people, and they're all older than us. It would be really weird if a couple of teenagers told them they needed to talk about how they might have murdered a school student. They won't take us seriously, and even if they do... one of them might have killed Logan. If we start accusing them of something like that..."

"We have to try," Patton said, and Roman couldn't help but wonder just how far these crazy teens were willing to go to figure out what happened to a kid that died years ago. Roman knew that he definitely wasn't perfect and had made some pretty dumb choices before, but even he knew that going to confront a murder was a really stupid idea. "I mean... we've made it this far. We have suspects. We really might be able to figure this out, and help Logan!"

"I appreciate you saying so Patton, but Virgil has a point." The mysterious other student answered, and Roman frowned. Before he was sure he had to be hiding where he couldn't see, but from hearing him talk it sounded like he was closer to where Roman was hiding. "I don't want you to get hurt while finding answers for me."

Answers for him? Roman shook his head. That didn't make any sense. They were looking for answers for their imaginary ghost friend Logan... who was this kid? And where was he?

"Why are you standing so far over there?" Virgil questioned, looking towards the place Roman heard the voice. Roman followed his eyes, but still saw no one there. Slowly, Roman began to feel as thought it wasn't a good idea to sneak in here. He couldn't help but wonder, what if Virgil and Patton weren't joking? What if... there really was a ghost?

Roman tried to ignore the thought. He didn't believe in ghosts-it was a ridiculous idea. Then the voice spoke again, closer this time and Roman really began to panic.

"I believe I heard something over here. It sounds... like someone tapping." They answered, and Roman froze. He was so nervous and caught up in what was going on around him that he hadn't even noticed his nervous tapping on the floor beneath him. He was so stupid.

"It stopped..." He heard the voice getting closer, now noticing the accompanying footsteps going in his direction. "I believe it was over here."

Roman saw Patton and Virgil following the sound of the voice straight over to where he was hiding. They looked around the a moment and Roman continued hearing footsteps, when all of a sudden they stopped.

Directly in front of his hiding spot.

Roman held his breath as he realized that Virgil and Patton were still a few feet away from him, staring straight ahead with wide eyes. He jumped when he heard the chair in front of him scraping across the floor as it somehow was pulled out from under the table. Looking up he still saw no one, looking in Patton and Virgil's direction and finding them looking at him. Roman looked back at the empty space in front of him, quickly pushing himself to his feet out from under the table and backing away from the chair.

"What the hell is that? Where are you?" Roman shouted, backing himself against a bookshelf and jumping again. "I-I thought you guys were crazy, I-what the hell?"
