Chapter 27
Pete's POV:
"Busy?" I asked popping from behind Porsche. He seemed quite engrossed in something that got the best of my curiosity making me pry into his matters aka act nosy.
"Ah no just sorting out a few upcoming important dates" He said while tapping on his tab.
I managed to steal a little glance and among the numbers, found an unfortunately familiar one.
"What's on this date?" I pointed it out feeling a little confused and uncomfortable as to why were the Teerpanyakuls celebrating that particular day.
"Ah that? It's the day when Saeng Teerpanyakul-father of phaw (Korn) and Uncle Gun and grandfather to the Teerpanyakul boys, took control of the family and made it reach even greater feats. So it's celebrated as the -beginning of a new era for the Teerpanyakuls" He explained the event and reason behind it helping me get rid of the terrible confusion.
"But why were you looking so concerned earlier? Must not be simply because you didn't know what the event was." Porsche asked me looking a little suspicious as to why would I be so confused over a date since as a new addition to the family it wouldn't be uncommon for me to discover different events being celebrated in the family that I had no idea about.
"Well...my father's birthday falls on the same date that's why I got confused as to why was the date noted." I went on explain why I was confused. Afterall, it would be like a punch in the guts if the family was to joyfully celebrate the birthday of the man I detested.
"Is that so? What a coincidence" He looked a little uncomfortable with the newly acquired information and I could clearly see how he was trying to examine my feelings and think of ways to divert the topic to somewhere else.
"Right. What a crazy coincidence" I whispered thinking about how considerate of a person Porsche could be at times before finally diverting the topic to put him at ease.
We talked about the preparations, upcoming events and the important business partners that were supposed to be invited. Porsche had dug up information on a few people as well who were new to the market but had quite an amount of potential. He was planning on introducing them to the partners at the upcoming events and become a major investor in the new capable companies to profit from them in the future.

Vegas' POV:
"F*ck" I cursed under my breath. My body was heating up making me sweat even though my room was as frigid as if it hit by a snowstorm. The doors were locked and nobody knew what was happening inside.
I leaned back on my chair trying to stop myself from spewing out the dose of poison that I had just taken in.
Previously having heard about it's lethality I was quite curious about the effects that it was going to have on me who was immune to quite a number of poisons but clearly I had underestimated it.
Making myself immune to poison and other drugs that could control me had been a part of my education from my early years. And especially after having the minor family's power so wrongfully snatched away from me, mastering it had become a necessity for me to prevent myself from dying a vain death.
Pete's name suddenly crossed my mind and my eyes instantly went up towards his photo that was kept on my desk. It was a photo of him in his teenage years that I had tried to discard so many times but had always failed to do so and in the end framed it up after everything was sorted out.
The picture was somewhat old, torn and discolored at the edges even, but he looked genuinely happy in it. I was the photographer and the day I took it is still quite vivid in my memory, the way we were laughing, clicking pictures of each other and enjoying the cool breeze of the early winters.
The thought of framing one of the wedding photos had once crossed my mind since the photos were relatively new but Pete's face and everything about him was haunting in those. The way he was smiling in each one of them yet his eyes looked so hollow was horrifying to say the least. He was looking like a carefully crafted doll with marbles placed in the eye cavities instead of real eyes in each one of those.
The way he could disconnect himself from his body and act like a functional hollow shell was one of his terrifying abilities in my opinion.
"Just thinking about him makes me want to see him" I sighed.
It was quite wierd how the pain had subsided without me realising it thanks to how occupied my mind was with thoughts of Pete.
I looked at the time and abruptly got up from my seat upon seeing that working hours were already over.
I marched out of the office and drove towards the house as fast as I could. As I was passing through an alley a small flower shop caught my eye making me stop the car.
The shop was small but looked beautiful from the outside and was even cozier on the inside. The wind chimes ringed as I walked in and a young age probably in his late teenage years popped up from behind the counter.
"Welcome sir! Take a look around, be it for your partner, child, friend or parent, we've got flowers to enchant each of those humans. Every flower has a meaning and I'm here to make you aware of it, so take a look around and choose whatever catches your eye!" He danced around while saying and his age was evident from how energetic the kid was.
"Do you have any particular flower in mind?" He asked but was fast enough to understand my answer from my clueless face.
"I'll take that as a no. Then...who will you be gifting it to?" He proceeded to ask the next question and thankfully it was a question that I had an answer to.
"My husband" I answered.
"Lovely!" He clapped his hands before asking the final question.
"Is he your first love?" He had a teasing smile and squealed when I nodded a yes but toned it down upon realising how overexcited he was behaving.
"Um...hm...I'm sorry...I just can't help but get excited when I see people so deeply and unconditionally in love with each other. It's such a beautiful thing." He joyfully said making me smile.
"It sure is" I agreed and he beamed at me upon hearing the response.
"Now then...let's make a bouquet filled with your love and adoration that your husband is definitely going to love, shall we?" He continued and picking up a few flowers used his skills to create a simple yet elegant and bewitching bouquet of purple flowers of different shades.
He had tied Purple roses, lavenders, white lilacs and purple forget-me-nots together that were emitting a soft and calming scent.
"Purple roses signify- love at first sight, lavenders- eternal love, white lilacs- purity and innocence of youth often used to signify first love while forget-me-nots signify unforgettable love, it's as if saying your lover to never forget you. Here, the meanings are written on this card already, do you want to add anything? A small personal message maybe?" He asked as he handed me a small folding card with the meanings written on one side of it while the other side had space for a small handwritten note.
"Even when the seas have dried, the sun no longer shining, the sky no longer bright and the carefree birds no longer chirping, will my love for you remain as deep as it is today, if not deeper." Even though it sounded a bit cheesy it was something I wrote earnestly, meaning each and every word but I was still a little nervous if Pete was going to like it.
"Don't worry...am sure he's going to love it." The florist boy smiled warmly reassuring me a little that Pete was indeed going to love the flowers.
"I hope so." I smiled while looking at the bouquet subconsciously trying to imagine how beautiful and happy Pete was going to look while holding the flowers.
In the room:
I was back early and as expected Pete was not there in the room. He had been helping Porsche prepare for the wedding and as a result most of his afternoons and evenings were occupied with it.
The doorknob turned when I was almost done changing and Pete stepped in through it. He was initially looking tired but his face brightened up upon seeing me.
"You're back early" He said while hugging me.
"Couldn't resist my urge to see you" I said as I brushed away a small strand of hair that was reaching his eyes and kissed him.
"Come here" I sat down and pulled him to set him down on my lap. Nuzzling into his neck felt really comforting, it was as if his presence alone was enough to dissipate all the mental and physical fatigue that I had accumulated throughout the day.
I reached towards the table kept behind the sofa and brought out the bouquet that I had hid there.
He looked a little surprised but was definitely elated to see the flowers. The bouquet was immediately snatched away from my hands and he smelled them before kissing my cheek as a token of appreciation.
"Thanks for the gift. I love you" He said.
"I love you too"
The atmosphere seemed romantic and the dim lights of the room along with the desparation to spend time with each other after a long day of separation was growing exponentially with each passing second until we kissed being unable to hold back anymore.
And like one thing leads to another, the kiss soon took a turn and led to a long night filled with love and care.
A few days later:
Pete, Porsche and Porchay were looking through a few colours for the colour combination of the wedding. Pete's eyes fell on a lavender shade and the colour code written next to it. Up until the point, he had been unknown to the fact that something like colour codes existed and was thrilled to learn about their existence.
It led to him scrolling through a few more shades and be it by coincidence alone or a sign from heaven, his eyes fell on a particular colour code.
It was the code for the colour "atricore green" it was the colour that his paternal house aka "Saengtham house" was painted in. Most of it's walls were painted in a single colour and the somewhat dull shade had always reminded him of calming forests after sundown that he had managed to steal a glance from magazines and sometimes the TV.
Their house being the same colour as a forest always felt ironic to him, afterall forests mostly represent life and freedom while his life at the house was nowhere near the two.
His smile dropped slightly when he was reminded of the memories all of a sudden but it wasn't long before something else got him intrigued.
The colour code for the particular shade of green caught his attention and if it wasn't enough of a coincidence that his father's birthday clashed with a significant Teerpanyakul event, atricore green's colour code aslo clashed with the two - 8F9768 (9th July). Even though it didn't appear like a meaningful piece of information, he didn't want to be baised and leave out information that could actually turn out to be of much significance in the future. Thus, he started noting down all the things that he found even a little unusual.
Vegas' POV:
"How are the things going?" I asked and was satisfied with the answer received. Everything was going smoothly and the bodyguards of the minor house were carrying out the orders without unnecessary prying.
Even though Uncle Korn controlled almost everything in the minor family, I also had quite an influence on the staff as the sole heir of the family.
Not many days were remaining until the day that I would finally be able to succeed my father to become the next head of the minor family.
"I can't wait to see how their family gets completely uprooted." I thought to myself. I was determined to repay the main family, the betrayal, bitterness and the sense of absolute loss, ten folds. There was no way in hell that I would let their family just go with their lives after they had destroyed mine, taken away everything that belonged to me.
But before doing anything, I needed to ensure Pete's safety for which I had planned to shift back to the minor house a few days before the havoc that I was going to wreck.
"Will you still be able to hold your ground? Kinn?"

Third person POV:
"Hghhhhhh" Chay sighed deeply feeling bored since his brother was busy with some business related work, Tankhun was busy with finalizing some wedding related things, and Pete was in college appearing for his exams.
"Bored?"
"Very much!"
A voice asked and Porchay replied without thinking. The voice seemed a little familiar but somewhat unfamiliar at the same time as if he had heard it somewhere but barely once.
He turned to see who the speaker was and was surprised to find the bakery guy from earlier.
"Bakery jerk!" He exclaimed delightfully but shut his mouth the moment he realised what words had come out of his mouth.
"Nice to meet you too Porchay" He smiled at him deliberately ignoring the newly acquired name. However it wasn't exactly a purely sweet smile, rather it was a smile that was daring him to use the name again.
"I-I mean Kim" He coughed to dissipate the awkwardness after correcting his mistake. However, right then a thought crossed his mind.
"Wait! How did you even enter the house? Didn't the guards see you at the door? How did you even make past them without them shooting holes into you?" He asked curiously, looking a little scared of the bodyguards.
But before Kim could provide any answer to the question, someone else did.
"Khun Kim, Khun Korn is looking for you" Arm informed him.
"Wait! How does he know you? Now that I think...your name is also quite similar to P'Kinn's.." Chay started connecting the links and was slowly arriving at the conclusion. The screws turning in his head was practically visible until the light bulb in his brain turned up, making him come up with an answer.
"ARE YOU THEIR LONG HIDDEN BROTHER?!! DOES P'KINN KNOW ABOUT YOU?! OH MY GOD HE'S GOING TO BE HEARTBROKEN TO KNOW THAT HE HAS A BROTHER THIS OLD WHO'S A JERK ON TOP OF EVERYTHING!!" Chay looked genuinely concerned and shocked. Meanwhile, Arm was trying the best he could to not laugh at the clueless kid.
"How did you even manage to survive up until now with that brain of yours?" Kim asked thinking about the number of soap operas he must have watched in order to develop such a dramatic imagination.
"I am his younger brother, born from the same set of parents and yes he knows about me, has known about me ever since my birth." He explained easing Chay's worry.
"Stay here, I'll be back in a moment." Kim said as he left with Arm to visit his father. Chay was conflicted if he should stay or go away but decided to stay in the end since being in the presence of a somewhat arrogant jerk was atleast better than being alone.
"It's better to be with him than being alone I guess, atleast the drama won't let me get bored." He thought before sitting back down and resuming to scroll endlessly on his phone while waiting for Kim to come back.
