"Jack my water broke"

Those words from her mouth were enough to scare me. The panicked look in her eyes scared me even more. I moved my head down and saw liquid pooling at her feet with a hammering heart. I met her gaze again. I just kept looking at her with a blank look on my face not knowing what to do next. 

"My water broke" she repeated her words this time a little loud and in more panic flooding her tone. Listening to her words the chattering on the table stopped making everyone look at us. 

"We need to hurry fast to the hospital," Jane said in her eager voice, getting my attention. Listening to her I immediately stood up in alert mode while rubbing my face in nervousness. 

"Jack brings her out, I will go and get the car," Zanvil said and stood up without waiting for my reply. He ran like Usain bolt. I immediately lifted her in my arms. 

"We need to hurry," said Ava while grabbing Nina's things. Hazel too stood up helping her. From their faces, I knew they all were feeling anxious like me. 

"What should we do," Skyler and Michael asked in unison. 

"You guys just keep an eye on kids," said Hazel while running behind me as I started to walk with long strides. Mom, dad, and uncle everyone knew now in fact all guests knew what was happening. 

"My best friend is going to give birth now," Jane said in her excited voice. Her excitement only increased my nervousness even more. 

"I'm going to be aunt, I'm going to be uncle, Oh God I'm going to be grandmother, and us grandfather" I heard all the excited voices and it made me more agitated. I looked at Nina and her eyes were getting open and closed. 

"Cupcake, don't sleep," I said, trying to get her attention. 

"Nina, don't sleep," Jane said while patting her cheeks. She was following me closely. The whole crowd was following me. I was closely followed by Jane, Hazel, Ava, mom, dad, and uncle while Micheal and Skyler were following us with kids in their hands. From all of our faces, it looked like we all were going to give birth. I soon reached the exit in the blink of a second. Zanvil appeared with a car. Hazel ran and opened the car door for me. 

"Hop in fast," Zanvil said while looking at Nina as Jane was patting her face continuously to keep her awake. I entered the car with Nina and Jane too came in. I laid her in my lap and now she was in her senses looking at me with her big eyes. I mentally thanked god. 

"Good now don't close your eyes and keep taking deep breaths, you are doing great," said Jane while giving her an encouraging smile. 

"Zanvil, drive fast" she yelled at her husband. 

"I'm trying" he replied in his troubled voice while looking back at us and then the road. Everyone was closely following us in their car. I just kept holding Nina's hand tightly as I didn't know what to do. 

"Oh my God it's painful," Nina said, opening her mouth while glaring at me. I was threatened by the way she looked at me. 

"Everything will be fine" I whispered to her looking at her painful face. As an answer, she clenched my hand back and nodded taking deep breaths but she was still glaring at me making me gulp in more nervousness. I don't know what was going on in her brain. Soon we reached the hospital with Zanvil's race car driving. I immediately carried her in my arms and ran out as soon as Jane opened the door for us. 

"Help fast, my wife is about to give birth" I yell on top of my lungs, getting the attention of a few nurses and patients. 

"This way sir," a nurse said while showing me the emergency room. I made her lie on the bed and soon doctors came and he told me to wait. Now everyone else walked in and the waiting area was now crowded with my family and friends. I just kept pacing in front of the door. 

"Everything will be fine" Dad and uncle tried to calm me down but my stress level was on a different level. After twenty minutes which felt like hours, the doctor walked out of the emergency room. 

"W--what happened is she ok what about the baby. Is my baby healthy" I shuttered and bombarded the doctor with all the questions while clasping his shoulder. 

"Sir, relax, your wife has still not given birth. We have to wait" he said with a small smile on his face. 

How has she not given birth yet?  

"But her water broke?" I tried to reason. 

"Yes, but we have to wait until she is In labor to give birth. You can meet her," he said and excused himself. As soon as he said those words I walked into her room and found her lying on the bed in a hospital gown with an IV tube attached to her wrist. I ran and hugged her. 

"You are suffocating me," she said, making me realize I was hugging her tightly. I loosen my grip on her. 

"Are you still feeling pain?" I asked, looking into her eyes while moving her hair away from her face. She nodded in response. 

"Then I should call the doctor" I was about to call when she stopped me. 

"I'm just feeling minor contractions. We need to wait until I'm in labor to call the doctor," she said, making me understand with a small smile on her face. I smiled back faintly. I was about to talk when everyone barged into the room asking Nina how she was feeling. I just kept looking at my wife who was answering them. 

"Oh my God, why is this room so crowded? The only husband stays everyone else out of the room" said an elderly nurse making everyone get out. As everyone was out I smiled looking at Nina. She looked pale and my heart chased. 

"What timing our baby has chosen to make, it's a grand entry," said Nina with a smile looking all pale. 

"Yeah, I know after all we Millers love grand entries," I said, taking pride to which she rolled her eyes, still smiling. But her smile turned into a big gasp making me move my face near her in worry. 

"Oh my God I think my labors have started," she said while putting her hand on her stomach and holding my hair with others. I don't know how they went in her hands. She tugged my hair when she felt a contraction again making me wince at the pull. 

"Nurse, doctor" I called them on top of my lungs. 

"Oh my God," she yelled again while tugging my hair, making me groan. The nurse came running. She looked at the scene in front of her. 

"I think she is in labor," I said and winced loudly as Nina was damn on making me bald. She gave me a sympathetic look. 

"I will go and call the doctor," she said, running out of the room, and soon the doctor came. 

"We need to take her to the emergency room," he said while looking at Nina who was gasping for air and yelling at the same time. They took her out of the room as she yelled in pain with me following her with my hair still in her dead-like grip wincing at her tug now and then. Everyone looked at us with wide eyes as we passed. While all men give me pitiful looks, making me swallow hard. 

"Take a deep breath," the nurse said as she saw her talking in pain. The doctor was getting ready with his gloves and all. 

"Nina, take deep breaths," I said, lifting my head to look at her. She tried but yelled again at the contraction. 

"Take deep breaths cupcake" I repeated while demonstrating to her. 

"Shut up" she yelled in pain and pulled my hair more making me cry in the pain. 

"Oh God what is happening," she said in pain and then glared at me. 

"Everything will be fine. Cupcakes take deep breaths" I tried to soothe her with words even though my scalp was on fire. 

"Shut up, it's all happening because of you dirty man. You impregnate me. It's all your fault" she said while yelling and yanking my hire. I didn't even know what to say to her anymore because she was partially right. 

"Yes, I'm a dirty man. It's my fault. I'm sorry" I cried out at the hard pull. 

"Doctor, do something fast" I again cried out as I saw him doing his work leisurely. He looked at me with sympathy but he continued at a slow pace. 

"Mr. Miller we still need to wait," he said, making me look at him in anger. 

"For God's sake, you don't do anything now I'm going to make sure to close this hospital" I tried to threaten but it came out as a cry from my mouth as Nina almost ripped my hair from my hair follicles. He moved his head in disbelief and then ignored me. 

"Mrs. Miller please try to push," he said while he moved his head inside the cover to see the moment. 

"Push cupcakes, you can do it," I said on the verge of crying. She yelled and tried to do it. I don't know how much time went but it felt like an eternity until we heard the sharp cry of a baby in the room. We both looked as the doctor took out the baby and cut the umbilical cord. 

"What is it doctor," Nina asked in her strengthless voice looking paler than before. The doctor lifted the baby with a smile on his face while showing us. 

"Congratulations it's a boy," he said with a bright smile while handing the baby to the nurse. 

"My baby boy," Nina whispered in her crying voice. Soon the nurse brought the baby back and put it on Nina's chest to latch him. That's when I felt her losing her grip on my hair and wrapping it on the back of the baby. 

"Our baby boy," she said while looking at me with tears flowing from her eyes and I only realized that I was crying too. I was not sure if I was crying due to the happiness of our baby boy's birth or that Nina let go of my hair. My vision blurred with more warm tears while a smile was tugged on my lips. 

And that's how our baby boy made its grand entry into this world.
