He was looking at him like he was looking at his biggest enemy in this world.

Looking at him after that day brought so many memories back. All the things that happened on that day started playing in front of my eyes like projectors were playing. Jack and Ryan fought like mad dogs on that day not letting go of each other's throat and when I tried to stop them they pushed me so hard and I fell ripping my knees. 

It brought back all the sore memories. I was so heartbroken that day I never expected him to fight like that with Jack because I know Jack was a mad dog and he still is but he was not like him and that's why I became friends with him. He was sweet and caring but he turned out to be like him. That day he lost the face of my sweet friend and became the person from whom I was trying to run away. 

"R...Ryan" I again called his name while little shuttering to break their glaring at each other. Both were throwing daggers at each other with their eyes. Listening to my voice Ryan moved his glaring eyes from Jack to me but they softened as soon as they met with my little surprised one. 

I don't know how he came here from nowhere. Ryans' eyes moved from my face to Liam who was holding me with his hands wrapped around my neck and his head resting on my shoulder. He was too looking at him with his dove eyes. I felt Jack moving me and Liam more towards him if it was even possible. Ryan was looking at us with blanked eyes. 

"I'm sorry you guys seem busy. I will come some other time," he said apologetically with a faint smile on his face while turning to go. 

"N--no we are not busy coming inside," I said while stopping him to go away. Regardless, he behaved on that day he was still my good friend then. For the sake of our past friendship, I can meet him like old times. I deal with Jack every day who did what not to make me suffer compared to Jack Ryan did nothing. 

On that day he just stood up for what he wanted but the way he chose was wrong. After that day I never met him even after he said sorry many times. I just accepted his sorry and chose to never hang out with him because I didn't want another possessive man in my life. 

But now it's different. It's been so long I can talk to Ryan if he comes to meet me after so long. Listening to my words he looked at Jack who was still holding me. I tried to stride from his grip but he didn't let me go. 

"Jack, can you take Liam with you? I need to talk with him," I said, trying to make him go because I knew if he stayed in the same room with Ryan for more than a few minutes he will turn back to the bloodthirsty wolf that he is. And now I don't want to see his beast taking a charge of him when Liam is too in the same room. 

"I'm not going anywhere. Let me remind you it's my office too so I'm not going anywhere" he said in his firm voice while looking straight at Ryan who was looking at us with blank eyes and his lips pressed in a thin line. The way he said left no room for the argument. 

"Ok then take him and make him eat his lunch he must be hungry," I said in my little annoyed voice as I handed him, Liam. It's the best way to keep him away from Ryan. He took Liam from my arms as I gestured Ryan towards my desk. He gave me a small nod and followed my gesture. I had already ordered food for Liam. Jack with narrowed eyes took Liam to the couch where his food was. Ryan came and stood in front of me with a small smile on his face. 

"You have become more beautiful than, before," he said while looking straight in my eyes.  His words made my cheeks turn a little red. I felt Jack's heated gaze in me as I smiled at him. From the corner of my eyes, I saw him clenching the glass with a tight grip. 

"You too have not changed much. But only the difference now is you have grown up mussels," I said with a smile on my face. He builds his body so much it was a little small in front of Jack but he was looking opposite from the past. 

" Well from the experience I have learned my lesson so on that day I decided to be more strong so no one dares to take what I want," he said in his firm voice while moving his head in the direction of Jack while saying the last part. I saw how Jacks' jaw clenched when he heard what he said. They both glared at each other. 

"Come take a seat," I said with a small smile on my face to lessen the tension in the room while gesturing him towards the chair in front of my desk. He took a deep breath and then took the seat while I took the vacant sit in front of him. 

"What brings you here suddenly," I asked as I said in front of him. 

"Do I need a reason to meet my old friend?" he asked in his dejected voice. His eyes were looking at me with so many things floating in them. I suddenly felt guilty for asking him like that. I think I'm being more straightforward with him than needed. 

"No no I don't mean to say like that, of course, you can come to meet me anytime," I said in my apoplectic voice with a faint smile on my face.

"Don't worry I was just kidding. I came to meet you because of a business-related matter" he said with a smile on his face which made me breathe in little relief. His words made me furrow my brief in the question of what business he has with me. 

"What business," I asked in the question. 

"I have an appointment with you now to discuss the new joining venture with Relish industries," he said in his calm voice with a little raised eyebrow like asking me in return if I remember it or not. 

"Oh I forgot we do have an appointment, sorry it just slipped from my mind," I said in my firm voice. Yes, I do remember our meeting. My secretary called me an informant but I forgot about it when dad called me to invite me to dinner. But I don't know I had a meeting with Ryan. 

"So are you their spokesperson," I asked as I took out the new proposal file of Relish industries which I was going to throw before dad called me. 

"I'm the CEO of Relish," he said while looking straight into my eyes, and then it clicked that his last name matches the name of the company. Looking at my facial expression he smiled in amusement. I cleared my throat for lack of my information. I need to attend parties to socialize with people to remember their faces and names. 

"So let's start discussing," I said and opened the file to point out the things I have highlighted to talk about. 

As I was discussing with him Jack was looking at me all the time. The look in his eyes was giving me bad chills.  Many times I suppressed the urge to move in my chair. Now he was done feeding Liam his food and Liam was now playing with his toys. As Ryan was talking about the new investment of our companies I saw Jack getting up from his place to take a call. He walked out of the office to talk. I took a breath of relief as soon as he was out of office. 

Thank God he went out. It looked like anytime he would pounce on Ryan and stop our meeting. 

"Is he still like that?" Ryan asked as he saw me looking at Jack who just went out. 

"Huh," I said as I didn't get what he said. 

"Jack," he said while gesturing at the door in his relaxed voice like a burden from his shoulder was suddenly lifted while he rested his back on a chair in a relaxed manner. 

"Yup in fact he is more than what he was in the past," I said laughing at his words in mock while copying his action and resting my back on the chair to get my sore muscles to release the tension. I took a deep breath as soon as my back touched the soft material of the chair. 

"Well I can't blame him," he said in his firm voice while looking straight into my eyes. It made the small smile completely disappear from my face and look at him with little confused eyes. "If I was in his place I would do the same. I wouldn't let something as precious as you slip out of my hand for a world" he said those words in his firm voice while again looking straight in my eyes. The air was kicked out of my lungs as he said those words. I just bit my lower lip feeling awkward as his words sank more into me. If he thinks Jack is like that with me because he loves me then he is wrong. He has his selfish reason for not letting me slip out of his claws. 

"Ryan---" I couldn't find words to back him. 

"You don't have to say anything I know," he said as if he knew everything which I was hiding inside me. It made me look back at his eyes. We kept looking at each other and the tension in the air was again increasing. I cleared my throat and looked away. 

"It's been so long but it still feels like I met you yesterday and asked you to help me with my studies," he said with a smile on his face like remembering the time when he asked me out and I used to refuse each time. 

"Yes, it's been," I said with a big smile on my face remembering everything. 

"How is Jane doing," he asked with a small smile on his face. 

"She is doing great after her marriage with Zanvil," I said with a smile on my face. 

"Time goes so fast," he said while looking at Liam who was playing with his toys. 

"Yes it does," I said with a small smile on my face. We started talking all about our high school and all the fun we had. We both were laughing when the door of the office opened again Jack walked back in. He had a grim expression on his face as he saw me and Ryan laughing. 

"I'll take my leave now," he said while standing up from his chair as he saw Jack looking at him with mad eyes. I nodded my head and stood up to drop him at the door. "Are you free tomorrow evening?" he asked, suddenly turning to me. 

"No, she is not," said Jack even before I could say anything. 

"I asked her not you," Ryan said in his firm voice, not backing away from his words. Jack was about to charge in towards him when I stopped him with mad warning eyes. Ryan looked at me holding Jack's hand to stop him. He then again moved his eyes from him to me. "So Nina, are you free tomorrow evening," he asked as he saw seconds of thoughts arising in my eyes. "don't worry you can even bring him with you," he said while gesturing at Liam. 

"Yes, I'm," I said as I would like to catch up with my old friend. 

"Then I will text you our meeting place," he said with a wide smile on his face like he won the lottery ticket. I nodded my head with a small smile on my face. He left after that as I closed the door I was suddenly pushed and pressed to the door with his hard body pinning me in my place. 

"You will go nowhere with him," he growled in his angry voice while looking straight in my eyes with his face just an inch away from mine. 

"You don't rule me Jack I do what I want to," I said in anger as he was back to his dominating state. 

"You won't go. I won't let you go," he said in anger while pressing his hard body more to me. 

"And why won't you let me," I asked in my mad voice. I want to know his stupid reason. 

"Because you are mine, the only mine," he glowed in his dominating voice passing chills to my lower back. I looked at him with little surprised eyes as I didn't expect him to say something like that to me. 

"And what's mine I never let it go off my hands at any cost," he said while moving the stray hair away from my face and moving his tip of the nose on my face making me grab the hem of his blazer tightly as my heart started to beat fast. 

"Jack let me go Liam will watch us," I said as his sudden declaration was making me go crazy from inside. I wanted to go away from his intoxicating scent which was slowly taking control over me. 

"I don't want to," he said and kissed at the corner of my lips making me close my eyes. His lips hovered on mine when we heard a loud knock on the door. 

It made me flinch in my place and get out of his hold but he didn't let me go. Instead, he moved his face into my neck and room and took a breath like calming himself. With a small kiss on my sensitive neck, he then let me go. I always moved away from him and his intoxicating scent.  He said to come in in his commanding voice while still looking at my face. His secretary came inside and she looked from me to him and cleared her throat like sensing the thick atmosphere in the room. 

"Sir you have a meeting in five minutes, all the arrangements are done in the meeting room" she informs him he nodded at him which made him go back. 

"We are still not done talking," he said in his dominating voice, and then he left without saying another word. 

After all this, I didn't feel like working anymore but I still dragged myself to work because I can't slag. I still have some work left to do before going to Dad's. I didn't feel like going to dad with Jack so I was going to leave early not before informing his secretary that I was going to my dad's for dinner and he too has to come there. As I was telling her to pass the information he came back from his meeting. Looking at me and Liam going, his eyes furrowed in question. 

"Where are you going," he asked in a tight tone while standing in front of me. I didn't want to talk with him but I had no choice. 

"Dad has invited us for dinner tonight," I said in my bored tone while shifting sleeping Liam on my other hand. He immediately took hold of Liam and carried him in his hand. 

"Let's go I'm done with today," he said in his firm voice ruining my plan of not going with him. I just nodded as I didn't want to talk with him. In the car, I was silent all the time. He was occasionally looking at me but I didn't share his glance. We reached dad's place in half an hour. Without saying anything I stepped out of the car and took sleeping Liam out of the car. He woke up as soon as I lifted him. He rubbed his eyes half sleepy eyes and looked at me with his big dove eyes. He looked so adorable. His action made my lips curl lovingly and I kissed his cheeks. 

"Where are we," he asked in his sleepy voice as he looked at unfamiliar places. 

"We are at my dad's place," I said while adjusting him and moving towards the front door. Jack too came after parking the car. I rang the doorbell as Jack stood beside me. Dad opened the door as soon as he heard the doorbell. He looked at our trio with little furrowed eyes. 

"I was out on my business trip and you guys already got a grandchild for me," dad asked in his amused voice while looking at Liam in my hand. 

"Dad," I said in my little aggravated voice. I heard Jack laughing at his comment. 

"Come inside," dad said while taking Liam from me. Liam looked at me with his big dove eyes as dad was taking him from me. I smile at him to assure him and smile a little. Like me, my dad likes small children so much. We all went inside. We all went and took our seats on the couch when one of us brought water for us. 

"Who is this little guy," Dad asked as he made Liam sit beside him. 

"He is Ava's son Liam. She went on a business trip so I'm taking care of him until she comes back" I said while taking a sip of the water. Dad noted his head in understanding and smiled at Liam. 

"Are you Nina's dad?" he asked in his baby voice while looking at my dad. 

"Yes," his dad did with a smile on his face. 

"You know I'm going to drink milk every day and grow tall like uncle Jack and marry Nina when I grow up," he said to dad in his excited voice. He told him his life plan. Dad laughed, making me laugh with him but Jack was still sitting with a grim face. 

What's his problem? 

"Well you have my full permission to marry her," dad said while ruffling his hair loveling. 

"Jack, you have a very tough contender. I don't think Nian will say yes to you if Liam the little guy proposes to her first. Nina, you have a very big line of persuaders" dad said while tickling him, which filled the whole living room with his giggles, and I smiled a bit. 

"Well, that's what I'm afraid of" he mumbles in a moving tone to himself but I heard it and looked at him with narrowed eyes. 

"You guys must be hungry, let's eat dinner," dad said and we all went to the dining room. I was waiting for dad to ask me all sorts of questions but he didn't. I think he is saving all his questions for family dinner. I'm sure they are going to press on getting marriages to matter more on that day. That thought suddenly made me lose my appetite. 

"Kitten why are you not eating? Is it not made as per your taste," dad asked as he was making Liam eat chicken. 

"No, it's good. It's just my stomach is full," I said while keeping the knife and fork back on the plate. 

"You have not even eaten anything. Are not feeling well," dad asked in his concerned voice. I felt Jack's light brown eyes on me as soon as dad asked if I was not feeling well. 

"No I'm totally fine," I said not to make him worry. 

"Then drink this soup," Jack said while filling the bowl with vegetable soup for me and keeping it in front of me. I wanted to refuse but he warned me not to say no with his hard light brown eyes. I exhaled and started drinking the soup quietly as I didn't want to argue with him in front of dad. 

Dinner went well as dad didn't question us. Like after two hours of talking with dad about the company's progress we left. Reaching Jack's place I changed me and Liam into sleeping clothes as it was already late. Jack was in the bathroom as I made Liam sleep beside me. I closed my eyes to sleep but sleep was still not coming to my eyes. After some time the bathroom door opened. I sensed him walking near me. 

I felt him touching my face and forehead to touch my body temperature. I didn't open my eyes and pretended to be asleep. I felt him moving liam to my other side and him scrunching me towards his hard chest. He possessively wrapped his hand on my waist and I don't know why I felt my body relaxing in his hold as I breathed in his intoxicating scent. I don't know when I fell asleep. 

The next day was like every day but the only difference was today I was going to meet Ryan again and Jack was against it. He already texted me the address of the place where he was going to meet me and now I was getting ready to go and meet him. I first changed Liam who was buzzing in the excitement that we were going out to eat. 

He was ruining all over the house in excitement. Jack was sulking and sitting with his laptop with an angry face. He tried to stop me but he can't stop me from meeting people. Wearing my denim jeans and a simple top with my long hair open I came out of the room. Say heels clicked on the floor, Jack lifted his eyes and looked at me. His eyes wide as he saw me. 

"Nina you look so pretty like mom," Liam said while running to me. 

"And you look too handsome," I said while pinching his nose. His giggles fill the house. 

"You are not going," Jack said in his impious voice while keeping his laptop away and standing in protest. I glared at him as he stood in front of me. 

"Are we not going out?" Liam asked in his cry voice as he heard Jack protesting in his firm voice. 

"Of course we are going out and if someone dares to stop me then we will go and stay at my dad's place," I said in my firm voice as I heard Jack cursing under his breath. I took Liam's hand in mine and we left while I was feeling Jack's burning eyes on my back. The address of the place Rayn had texted was not far away from where we stayed. He was already waiting for us at our reserved table. 

"Hey" I did with a smile on my face. 

"Hey you look beautiful like always," he said while standing up and kissing my cheeks. I mumbled a small thank you. 

"How do I look," Liam asked in his baby voice. 

"Well you look handsome," Ryan said which made him giggle. 

"I thought you won't come but I was so happy when I saw you coming in," he said with a big smile on his face. 

"I want to know how Jack let you come," he asked in amusement. 

"Well I have my ways," I said with a smirk. 

"Well you sure do," he said in amusement. We sat and ordered our food. Soon our food arrived and we started eating our food and chatting about our lives. All the time I was feeling a very familiar gaze on me and when I moved my eyes to find who it was I couldn't find anyone. After we had dinner we went to eat ice cream at an ice cream truck as Liam wanted to eat. We were waiting a little away from the truck as Ryan went to take it. 

"Here is your chocolate chip and strawberry ice cream favorite guy," he said while handing us the Icecream with a big smile. 

"Thank you," we said and started walking towards the Park while licking our ice cream. He still remembers my favorite flavor of ice cream. I was still feeling that familiar gaze on me and now it was getting on my nerves. Ryan walked us to my car. I put the sleeping liam inside the car and secured his seat belt. Closing the door I looked at Ryan. 

"He is a good kid," he said while gesturing at Sleeping Liam. 

"He is," I said with a small smile on my face as I looked at his sleeping state. 

"I never imagined that when I see you next time you will be the mother of Jack's baby," he said while looking at me. His words made me lol at him with shocked eyes. 

"What!" I said in my surprised voice while laughing a bit. 

"Yeah I was thinking when I met you next time I will be the person who you want in your life but I think I lost to Jack real-time," he said in his serious voice. His words flutter my heart a bit. 

"Liam is not my and Jack's son," I said while laughing a bit. No, this time he was the surprised one. 

"So you are not married to Jack," he asked and I moved my head in denial. He took a deep breath of relief. 

"So I still have a chance," he said out of nowhere and moved nearer to me while lifting his hand and moving my hair away from my face. 

"I just want only one chance to swoon you away from him. Will you give it to me" he asked in his determined voice as I looked at him with shocked eyes as he started moving his face towards me. Before I knew he was pushed away from me and Jacks stood in front of me. 

"I don't even let her go away from me. She is mine and will be mine because we are already engaged so fuck off before I make you" Jacks said in his pissed voice. 

From where did he come? 

"You are not the one who decides it. If she wants to give me a chance you are no one to stop her and stop fooling me because I don't see any ring in her hand" he said in his angry voice. 

Before I could stop them I saw history repeating in front of my eyes.
