Why does everyone nowadays find me in my most embarrassing situation?

"Aunty" 

"mom, " we both said at the same time in our horrid voice. Her wide eyes moved from me to Jack's hair I was holding in a tight grip to make him go bald. I immediately let go of his hair and got away from him. Ava was still standing with a shocked face while looking at us. Jack sighs in relief as I let go of his hair then he lazily stood up while taking his place behind me. 

Their mixed emotional gaze was making me so nervous. I could see curiosity in their eyes to know what I was doing barely dressed on top of Jack. I felt Ava and aunty Sam's eyes moving on my body as soon as I stood up but before their eyes could move on the red mark on my body I clasped the shirt closely to my body. I can't stand in front of them like that. 

"I'll go and change," I said in my small embarrassed voice and ran to his room to change without waiting for any kind of reply from them. 

"I'll go and see if she needs something" I heard Jack saying in his usual devilish voice saying that he started following me. 

Why he needs to follow me. 

I wanted to turn and smack him but before that, I need to change. I ran straight to the walk-in closet and closed the door as I felt him following me. I took one of my loose sweaters with a high neck and jeans and slipped into them as fast as possible. Coming out of the closet I saw Jack lazily lying on the bed and still moving his hands in a hair-like soothing ripping pain I caused. 

Well, he deserves it for changing clothes and taking advantage of my sleeping state. 

His eyes fell on me as I closed the door and came out of the walk-in closet. He smirked looking at me, making me glare at him. 

"How did aunty enter the penthouse? You and I can only open the lock" I asked him in my annoyed voice. This question was bugging me to form the moment I saw their shocked faces as soon as the door was open. 

"Mom too has access to the door lock as she comes every month to check in what shape my penthouse is," he said in his calm voice still massaging his scalp. 

Well, even I don't trust him with the house. He is the messiest person I know. He is the master of changing things from their actual place. Whenever you try to find that thing again you find it in the opposite corner of the room from its actual place. When he comes out of the bath all the things on the sink are messed up. His used towels lie on whichever part of the room he throws it. Even if you tell him to clean up he isn't willing to do it. I have to force him all the time. I can understand aunty coming to check on her son but what is Ava doing with aunty. She must have come to check on her boyfriend. To see what I'm doing with her boyfriend and now she caught us in a most embarrassing situation. 

Does she know I'm living with Jack? Why won't she know he must have told her that that's why she has come today to check on him? 

"Then what Ava is doing here with her," I asked as the question of why she came here was eating me up. Even though in my mind I knew why she had come here. I still want to hear the answer from his mouth. 

Listening to my question he lazily stood up from the bed and started coming in my direction with long strides. In the blink of an eye, he was standing in front of me. As his light brown gaze lingered on my face and moved just below my chin where his mark was peeking out for the high neck of my sweater. I immediately pulled it up and crossed my hands in front of my chest in a defensive manner. It made the corner of his lips curl after looking at my attempts of hiding my body from his predator's gaze. He bent his form to bring his face in front of mine. His warm breath fanned on my cheeks as he breathed. It made goosebumps form on my cold skin. 

"Don't you think it's too late for you to hide the things from me?" he said while looking down on my defensive form and then moved his light brown eyes back to my face. His words made me swallow as they had unknown meaning to it. He was saying it like not a single inch of my body was hidden from his predator's light brown eyes. As if his eyes have touched every inch of my body without me knowing it. 

This actualization made me take deep breaths as I kept looking to light brown pools. Nine, come back to your senses because he is trying to distract you from your question. I cleared my throat while moving a step back to make some distance between us. He smirked looking at my attempt to go away from him. 

"You have still not answered me what she is doing here," I asked in my firm voice trying not to sound eager to know the reason but there was an edge to my voice. Listening to my voice he smirked and took a step in my direction to cut the distance I made between us. 

"She must have come to replenish my pantry," he said in his calm voice while looking in my eyes. Listening to his words the agitation I was feeling yesterday return back to me. 

So she comes here every time to take care of him like this. Uncle also said she takes care of his medical care and she makes him take it every day. She takes care of him like a wife takes care of her husband. She has become his wife before marriage. You too take care of him, you cook and clean for him. My inner voice said. But she is doing it willingly and I'm doing it for the power of attorney papers. I bit my lower lip in bitterness as these thoughts lingered in my mind. 

Why did aunt Sam and she come together? Does the uncle and aunt too know about their relationship? Does aunt know about their relationship? Of course, she knows about it or why else she will come here with her. Has aunty already approved of their relationship? 

That thought suddenly made me uneasy and bit my lower lip more almost making it go white due to lack of blood supply. I averted my eyes and looked at the floor as all things were sinking more into me. I felt his heated gaze on me but I didn't lift my eyes and look at him as so many emotions were flooding in my eyes. He took a hold of my chin and made me look at him but I still kept my gaze low, not wanting to meet with him. 

"Look at me," he said in his firm voice but I still kept looking down. "Wild cat," he said in his commanding voice. 

His tone did something to me. I slowly lifted my eyes as I felt his voice having powers over. He peered into my stormy eyes like reading everything that they were saying and next thing I know he pressed his lips to mine getting me completely off guard. His hand moved from my chin to my cheeks to angle my face to get better access. He gently kept moving his lips on my little trembling one as I felt all the emotions inside me surfing to its thresholds. 

He kept moving his lips so gently pulling me more towards him while his thumb kept making lazy circles on my cheeks. I heard a loud knock on the door. It made me flinch and move away from him but he didn't let me go. Instead, he slipped his hand and pulled me towards his hard chest to kiss me more. We heard a throat clearing sound and that made me pull myself away from him. He looked at me with a little mad gaze as he didn't like me pulling myself away from him. 

Behind him, I saw Ava standing at the door with a small smile on her face. It made me move more away from Jack. I felt awful looking at her seeing us kissing. What must she be thinking even after I know he loves her I'm shamelessly kissing her boyfriend? She kept looking at me and Jack as she had witnessed what was happening a second ago. 

"Aunty Sam is waiting for you guys," she said with the same small smile on her face. I cleared my throat and moved out of the room with fast steps. 

She calls Jack's mom aunt Sam so they are already close to each other. I didn't turn to look back as I heard their mumbles behind me and kept walking. I didn't need to think about what they were talking about or fighting now as I was already dealing with so many things. I went down where aunty Sam was sitting on the couch while surfing through her cell phone. As she felt my presence she lifted her head and looked at me. 

"Nina sweetheart," she said as soon as I stood in front of her. She stood up and hugged me. "Last time I saw you it was at Jane and Zanvils wedding. It's been so long how are you," she said in her happy voice while moving her hand on my back as she always does like a mother will do to her child out of love. I wrapped my hands around her frame and hugged her back because she was the only person from whom I received motherly love. 

"I'm doing great. How are you" I said in my small voice with a small smile wavering at the corner of my lips. She broke our hug and cupped my face in her hand while looking at me lovingly. 

"Now that I have seen you here I feel more than good," she said with a happy smile on her face while she moved my stray hair away from my face and tugged behind my ear to get a better look at my face. It made me smile faintly at her as I didn't understand her words. "You have become thin darling are you not eating properly these days," she said in her concerned voice as she kept looking at my face.  

It's because your son makes me work hard. 

Those words were on the tip of my tongue but I stopped myself and moved my head in denial to let her know I'm eating fine. From behind me, I heard Jack and Ava's voices and it made me feel more uncomfortable to face her. I was feeling guilty that I let Jack kiss me even after knowing they are in a love relationship. The agitation inside me increased more as their voice started coming nearer to me. 

"Anty why don't you sit down. I will go and bring something for you to drink," I said and she nodded at me with a smile on her face. I turned to go back to the kitchen but I saw them coming towards me. Jack was now wearing a t-shirt. She must have made him wear it after seeing the scene in his room. As I was moving towards the kitchen I felt his hard gaze on my hurrying form. Reaching the kitchen I took a breath of relief and took a juice bottle out of the fridge. I started pouring it in two glasses for aunty and another for Ava. 

I don't know if she will even accept it or not or throw it straight into my face. Whatever consequences it has I still have to take it for her too. I kept the glass in the tray and began moving towards the living room at a slow pace while wishing no one was waiting for me in the living room. And everything was just a bad nightmare I was dreaming and it was about to get over as soon as I kept my first step in the living room. 

But to my dismay, nothing was my nightmare but my reality. They were talking with a smile on their face. Jack was sitting beside Ava and aunty was in front of them. Ava said something and it made Jack smile goofily at her. They all were looking happy, making me feel the unwanted element who was entering their happy moment. With slow steps, I moved so I won't ruin their moment. 

"Oh Nina is here, come here fast dear," aunty Sam said in her cheerful voice as she saw me. I nodded at her with a small smile on my face and increased my pace a little bit. I offered them the juice and aunty took it with a happy smile. As I offered to Ava she shook her head. 

"I just had coffee some time ago," she said with the same smile on her face and it made me feel more guilty as she refused to take it. I just nodded and took away the glass but before I could keep back the glass on the table Jack took it for himself and shifted towards me. I tried to shift but I was already at the edge. I chewed my inner cheek as he placed his hand behind me and started playing with my hair while lazily sipping the juice. I was about to glare at him but aunty looked at me and smiled making me smile faintly at her. 

"I can't believe the house is so clean." She said while moving her eyes everywhere. "I was so ready to meet with the messed up house today but the house is so clean and neat. I have to say you have kept the house so nice" aunty Sam said while looking at me with a smile. I smiled a little wider as at least someone was appreciating my work. 

"I and Ava both did grocery shopping. So you guys don't have to worry about it now," she said in her cheerful voice while showing me the bags. I was feeling Ava looking at me and it made me feel more uneasy. 

"I will go and keep it inside. You guys continue your talk. I will make lunch for you. After all, you bought groceries, you must be tired," I said in my thankful voice as it was almost lunchtime now. 

"Why not it's been so long that I eat something made from your hands," aunty Sam said, agreeing to my plan. Maybe this way I feel less guilty about everything. 

"You guys continue with your talk. I need to leave," said Ava, looking at her watch. 

"Ava, wait until lunch is ready then we will leave together. Thrust me Nian makes food tasty then me" aunty said to make her stay. I can understand why she doesn't want to stay. 

She hesitated before saying "Hmm ok, " with a faint smile on her face. I swallowed hard and took the bags from the table and went to the kitchen with quick steps. I kept the bags full of all the groceries and vegetables on the kitchen island. I stood there thinking about everything. 

Aunty and uncle don't know anything about them. That's why she couldn't see the uneasiness on Ava's face. My gaze fell on the breakfast Jack had put on the plate. It was still there on the kitchen island. I kept it away and started making lunch as I had lost my appetite. I started cutting the vegetables and I don't know when I got engrossed in making lunch. Half of my lunch was almost done when Ava came inside. 

"Hey," she said while coming and standing beside me. 

"Hey," I said while putting my vegetable in the pot. 

"Sorry I couldn't come in before. Do you need any help in making lunch?" she asked with an apologetic smile on her face. 

"No, it's almost over. Thank you" I said while stirring the vegetables. 

"There must be something left for me to do," she asked, making me look at her. 

"Yeah I was about to make the salad you can make it," I said while looking at her. 

"Great I will do that," she said happily, making me smile a little. I need to talk with her about what she saw in Jack's room. I can't live with guilt in me. I have to apologize to her as I had made clear that I don't want to be with Jack.  

"Ava I need to talk about what you saw," I said in my unsettled voice as she was washing the vegetables to cut for salad. 

"Oh about that," she said in her carefree voice while looking at me. It made me look at her. I was so ready to hear her accusations but before she could say something. A cheerful voice caught both of our attention. 

"Mom," said the baby voice, making me and Ava look in the direction of the voice. Jack was holding a four-year-old boy in his arms who was wearing a preschool uniform. 

"Oh my baby came back from school," she said coyly and went towards them. She took him from Jack's arm. With wide eyes, I looked at Ava who was now lovingly kissing the boy's cheeks. 

"Mom uncle Jack bought me chocolate," he said in his baby voice while showing her the chocolate. I can't believe Jack bought chocolate instead of eating it himself. 

"Jack how many times I have told you not to buy him chocolate. Now he won't eat food without finishing his chocolate" she scolded Jack. 

"Why can't I spoil my only nephew," he said it made Ava roll her eyes at him. Listening to their conversation my eyes became wider than they were before. 

Why did he just say, n---nephew?  

"Baby give me back chocolate. I will give you when you finish your lunch" she said in her calm motherly voice to make him give back the chocolate. 

"Noooo mom please can I have it now," he said in his baby voice making me smile at his cute face. 

"Baby'' Ava said, trying to be strict with him but I could see she was melting at the sight of her baby's cute pout. 

"Mom, who is she?" he said while looking at me as I started moving in their direction I wanted to take him in my arms. He is so cute. Now I was standing in front of them with a smile on my face. Listing to his question Jack moved his hand around my waist and now he was hugging me from behind. 

"She is soon going to be your aunty," he said while kissing on my cheeks it made my cheeks burn in red. What is he doing? Ava looked at my face and smiled brightly like teasing me.  

"Hey my name is Nina, what's your name?" I asked while offering my hand for a handshake. He was looking at me with big dove eyes for a few seconds then smiled as he saw my smiling face. 

"Hey my name is Liam," he said in his sweet voice while taking my hand for a handshake.

"Friends," I said while shaking his hand with a big happy grin on my face. I just love kids.  

"Friend," he said while giving me his full tooth grin. 

"Then will you share chocolates with me as I love to eat them too," I asked with hope in my voice. He nodded and gave me the whole chocolate making Ava look at me with wide eyes. "So we will eat after lunch,'' I said and he nodded with the same grin on his face. 

"Baby go with uncle now and play with grandma. Nina and I are preparing lunch she said but instead of going to Jack Liam came to me. 

"But I want to play with Nina," he said in a baby voice while wrapping his hands around my neck. It made me kiss on his cheeks. Jack was looking at us with furrowed eyes as Liam wrapped his arms more and rested his head on my shoulder. 

"Liam I will play with you after we eat lunch now go with the uncle and play with grandma," I said which made him look at me. 

"Pinky promise," he asked, showing me his pinky finger. 

"Yes pinky promise," I said while taking his pinky finger with mine. With a happy smile, he went with Jack. We resumed making our lunch. 

"It was the time of his to get off from school and that's why I wanted to leave early but Jack sent his driver to fetch him," she said with a relieved smile on her face. 

Oh, so that's why she wanted to go earlier.

I nodded in understanding. "I can't believe he just gave you his chocolate. He doesn't share it with anyone" she said in her bewildered voice. I just smiled at her remark. 

"First I didn't believe Jack was willing to marry someone but now I know why he is so into you," he said with a knowing smile on her face. Jack is into me. It made me look at her with blank eyes as I didn't know what to say. I just shrugged a little. "Both the boys like you so much," she said with a big smile. It made my cheeks burn red this time. 

"I didn't know you had a son," I said while stirring the rice. 

"But yesterday you told me Jack told you everything. So I assumed he told you that I have a son," she said with furrowed brows. 

Well, he told me something else. 

"He just didn't tell me you had a son," I said with a sheepish smile on my face as I didn't want her to know what I was thinking about her and Jack. 

"Oh," she said while putting the salad on the plate. 

"Everything is ready, you should go out. I will bring the food," I said as I switched off the stove. 

"I will go and place plates," she said with a small nod and went out. I was now feeling like the burden on my chest was off. Knowing Ava is Jack's cousin, not his girlfriend, was making me feel light from inside. I took a deep breath as I was suddenly in a good mood. I went to the sink to wash my hands when I felt hands wrapping around my waist. Jack buried his face in my neck and took a deep breath while placing a kiss on my neck. It made me grace the edge of the sink for support. 

"I want to kiss you so bad," he said in his husky voice while placing another kiss on the nape of my neck. I had goosebumps again forming on my body. I closed my eyes as he moved the tip of his nose on the length of my neck. Putting me under such a delusion he wants to kiss me. I'm still so mad at him for taking advantage of my sleeping state. I opened my eyes and bit my lower lips in resentment and elbowed him in his guts. 

"Ouch," he winced, clutching his stomach. 

"I will deal with you once they go back," I said while glaring at him while flipping my hair as I went out taking the food. I didn't miss the expression on his face as he swallowed hard. With an evil smirk on my face, I went out.  

We all took our place on the table and started eating it. Jack was trying to place his hand several times on my tights but I warned him showing my fork and it made him take away his hand. I fed Liam as he wanted to eat from my hands. As I was happily chatting with him while feeding him I saw Jack sulking while looking at us. 

God this man. 

I came to know more about Ava. She is aunty Sam's elder sister's daughter. She recently moved here. She is a single mother and Liam's dad was never in the picture. Liam is four years old. We almost finished eating food. I gathered all the plates to take back to the kitchen. It was time for them to leave. I and Jack walked them to the door when Ava hugged me and Liam too. Aunty was looking at me and Jack the whole time with a smile on her face. Then she hugged me tightly. 

"Food was great like always," she said with a smile making me smile wide at her. "Well I'm going to discuss this at our next family dinner," she said, breaking our hug with a mischievous smile on her face. I swallowed hard as it was giving me a bad feeling. These were the words I was trying to avoid to hear the whole time. 

I think it's now the high time for me to get doomed.
