It was making me realize his words are going to be my reality soon

I don't know for how long I sat there under the shower looking at his retiring back. His dark voice was echoing in my ears promising me that he will do what he says and it was making it hard for me to come back to my right senses. As his words echoed in my ears it made some part inside me numb.

I was trying my best to not get affected by his words but his words were hitting the weak spot inside me which I hid back of this brave face. Every time I try to hide it from him but he always gets successful in scratching it with his sharp claws like words. The more I try the more he scratches deep making me vulnerable.

Stop it, Nina, stop it! Tell me From when his words became your reality. Your reality is what you create. You have to fight for your own future. No one knows what will happen in the future so you can't leave this war because he told you he will defeat you.

None knows the result of war without a proper fight. He rubbed the things in your face that he thinks he will have in his future. But you don't want them so don't let your inner peace get destroyed because of his malicious words. Keep your focus on your track and make efforts so his words never come to existence.

Sitting under the shower and thinking about what he said won't solve your problem. You just can't sit ideally and keep waiting until he brings his utterances to excitants. Get up and get out of here sitting under the shower won't change anything but keeping moving will. He can't distract you from your main goal of not let him into your life and no one can stop you from doing it.

You only have the power to change your fate and no one else. Don't accept defeat without fighting for what you want. You just keep making your effort and leave the rest of it on your destiny.

My strong inner voice screamed those words and passed a boost of new insight and confidence in me. Lifting both hands I moved my dripping hair away from my face while taking deep breaths to get my focus straight back on track.

"If he thinks his words will change my plan of throwing him away from my life then he is mistaken. I will prove him wrong" I said in my fierce voice. "I will prove you wrong Jack Miller" I promised myself and stood up and got out of the gym after changing my clothes.

Instead of going to Jane's place, I went to my house. I need some time alone with myself to get my thoughts straight. I will go to her place early in the morning as it's her marriage tomorrow.

I have so many responsibilities for tomorrow. I have to first check all the arrangements with aunty and then get Jane ready for the big day. Then I have to get myself ready as a maid of honor. I have too much to do tomorrow so I need a peaceful sleep with Satan proof dreams and I could only feel that comfort in my own house in my own bed.

I went straight to my room. Dropping my duffle bag on the couch I went to the bathroom to take a shower. As the water started to pour on me the scene of the girl's locker room showers flashed in front of my eyes making my chest heavy with his words ringing again in my ears.

"Stay focus" I mumbled under my breath and shook away those worthless absurd words out of my mind and straight to the dump bin of my mind.

If I don't want to get distracted from my path then I have to stop thinking about what he wants and start thinking about what I want and put efforts to make it happen like he is doing. With this thing in my mind, I came out of the shower and changed into my nightclothes. I was sitting in front of my vanity and applying lotion when my phone rang. I saw the caller id Skyler was calling me. "Hello," I said while still applying my lotion on my arms.

"Where are you bro," he asked me in his impatient voice.

What's with him?

"I'm at my house. Why what the matter" I asked in my relaxed voice.

"I thought after the gym you were going to come here why did you go to your home. You were supposed to stay here to guard your best friend, remember" he again said in his impetuous voice. He wanted to say something but he was not trying to come on point.

"I was supposed to but I need some sleep and regarding Jane's guarding thing did you forget I told you to do it for me as you are present there instead of me" I side while keeping the lotion bottle back on vanity.

"Oh yes regarding it.." he was making me more suspicious about him.

What's with him, why is he talking like that? As if he wants to say something but can't say it.

"Cut it out Sky and come to the straight point what got into your pants," I asked in my suspicious impatient voice.

"Zanvil is on his way to Jane's room," he said at his fastest speed.

"What?" I whispered, yelled his words made, my eyes wide in shock. "What the hell you were doing when that prick head was going inside her room," I said this in anger this time while getting up from my seat. "Go get him out of her room. If by mistake aunty saw it she will again be so upset with me and Jane" I shouted.

"Well, I can't....you come here fast" saying that he cut the call in a hurry.

This man!

It seemed like he was hiding something more from me. I had no time to think or change my clothes. I immediately grabbed my cardigan and car keys. Here goes my peaceful sleep in the drain. In five minutes I reached her place as we live in the same neighborhood. As I entered the house I saw Skyler waiting for me in the living room.

"Sky I gave you one job and you couldn't even do it properly" I whispered yelled not wanting to wake anyone up especially aunty. I was afraid of what if aunty saw him. Seeing my outburst Sky sheepishly smiled at me. "I will deal with you once I'm done with that prick head," I said in my annoyed voice while moving in the direction of Jane's room. Skyler was following me like a tail.

Reaching there I took the hold of Jane's bedroom doorknob and twisted it. Thank God, it's no lock, or else it would have been hard for me to find the key to it. Behind me, Sky was waiting with a twitched face.

What's wrong with this man?

I glared at him accusing him with my eyes. Before opening the door I gathered my courage to see some intimate scenes in front of my innocent eyes. I don't want my eyes to lose their innocence. I have to do it. I took a deep breath before opening it. As soon as I opened the door I saw something different from my previous experience. Zanvil was standing near Jane's bed and staring at her sleeping face.

Is that smile on his face?

No, it can't be a smile. It is impossible he doesn't know how to smile. I rubbed my eyes and looked again. It must be a smirk. Is he smirking about thinking how he will make Jane's life more difficult from tomorrow onwards? This devil can't let her alone with herself. With this thought, I stomped inside her room and went and stood near Zanvil. I taped on his shoulder to get his attention he was so lost in his torture thoughts that he didn't notice me.

"If you are done then get the hell out of her room. At least let her sleep peacefully for today," I whispered in my annoyed voice with a tight smile on my face as soon as he turned to look at me.

I don't want Jane to wake up from her beauty sleep. Tomorrow is her big day. Zanvils cold eyes moved from me to behind me on Skyler. With narrowed cold eyes he looked at Sky. When I turned my head to look at Sky he was gesturing to Zanvil that it was me who came and he didn't inform me.

What is brewing between these two idiots?

I pushed both of them out of Jane's room. "You prick head cant you wait till tomorrow," I said in my angry voice as soon as I closed Jane's bedroom door.

"Shut up Rogers can't you keep your nose out of my business," he said in his bored tone while Ignoring me and moving in the direction of his bedroom. While moving he stopped in front of Sky and said "deal is off between us" Zanvil said with an evil smirk on his face.

"Bro you promised you can't go back on your words," Skyler said in his serious voice.

"Well you didn't keep your side of part of the deal," he said with the same evilness. What deal they are talking about.

"I did it! you were in her room," he said in his annoyed serious voice.

"For only ten minutes'' Zanvil shrugged like he didn't care about the deal anymore.

What is happening?

I just keep looking at them dumbfounded. "Why are you doing this" Skyler asked in his pissed voice. I didn't know anything but their talking in codes is increasing my curiosity to know what the hell exactly they are talking about.

"Because I want you to feel the same pain I did," he said with the same evil smirk and left for his room. What kind of rubbish this both guys are talking about but it's still making me more curious about it. What pain Zanvil is talking about. I saw Skyler balling his fist in anger when Zanvil said those words to him. When Zanvil was completely out of my sight I turned to Sky whose face was looking like an angry bull.

"Will you tell me what just happened now," I asked in my furious and curious voice. All this suspense was killing me already. Listening to me he took a few deep breaths to lose his anger. Then Skyler turned to face me.

"Nina, sorry for calling you back from your place," he said in his calm voice that was not looking like an angry bull a few seconds ago. But he still didn't answer my question. I was about to ask him again when he kissed my cheek and said "Good night we will talk about it some other day" he dismissed and started to walk to his room with a gloomy face. I want to know now what they were talking about.

Didn't he see my curious gaze?

Forget it if he doesn't want to talk about it then let it be. But I still want to know. Why are men so complicated and suspicious? I excelled deep and went back to Jane's room to sleep. To my dismay, morning came so soon.

"Nina, wake up" I heard Jane's voice as her hand was moving my shoulder. "Nina, wake up. You know what is it today " she again tried to wake me up when I still didn't open my eyes.

"Yeah, I know it's your wedding today. Now stop waking me up I'm awake now," I said with half-open eyes in my morning grumpy voice. I was still so sleepy but had so many tasks to do today.

"Yes today is my wedding," she said in her anxious voice and sat beside me. I think she is getting this wedding jitters thing. Hearing the anxiousness in her voice I sat up.

"Are you ok?" I asked while throwing my hand over her shoulder.

She rested her head on my shoulder and whispered in his small voice "I don't know."

"Everything will be fine," I said while moving my hand on her back. I know she is not ready for this. I have to make her wedding jitters go away. My bridesmaid role has started.

After talking with her some time. Telling her everything will be fine I went to take shower as Jane already took one before waking me up. I came out of the shower dressed in a simple shirt and jeans. I saw aunty Jennifer was talking with Jane with the brightest smile I ever saw on her face. Jane was nervously smiling back at her.

"Nina, are you ready? We have so much to do today," she beamed at me. I nodded with a smile. "First let's have our breakfast we need energy," she said, taking my and Jane's hand in her and taking us to the dining area. I smiled faintly at nervous Jane. She smiled back lightly at me. When we reached there, no one was there except us.

"Where is everyone else?," I asked while looking at aunty.

"They are with Zanvil giving him man talk and all. We will have breakfast separately as you know the groom can't see his bride before the wedding" aunty explained with a playful smile while looking at Jane. She was more than happy not to see the devil of her life here. We all had breakfast then we sent anxious Jane back to her room to rest a little bit. I and aunty got busy with checking every arrangement. The wedding was held in the big vestibule of Adams mansion as it was a small wedding with only family and friends invited.

"Where is Nina?" I heard someone asking for me. To one of the maids of the house. I turned to look who it was. I found Hazel standing there with lots of gift boxes in her.

"Hazel, you are here with all the gift boxes," I said with a smile on my face and immediately went to her to take some of it from her hands.

"I'm not late right," she asked with a smile.

"No, you are on time. First, let's keep them then we will talk" I said while showing her directly to one of the rooms where all the gifts were kept. She nodded with a smile and followed me.

I and Jane became friends with Hazel when we went to Jane's wedding dress shopping. She is such a sweet girl, not a sweet talker type. She is a real and practical type. We talked so much on that day and came to know she was so hard-working. She started her career at such a young age and it was fascinating about her. Then Janes asked her to be one of the bridesmaids as she doesn't have many friends. Now I'm a maid of honor and Hazel is a bridesmaid.

"Thank you for helping with all this," I said with a smile as soon as we were done keeping the gifts.

"Thank you is not needed as you are my friend now," she said with the same smile.

"So is Jane ready for her big day," she asked. She knew the situation in which Jane was.

"She is having her wedding jitters from the morning so we told her to rest a little bit," I said while shrugging my shoulders a little bit while walking her to the living room.

"So we need to cheer her up," she said with a faint smile on her lips.

"Yes let's go and check on her, after all, it's time to get her ready as only four hours are left for the wedding," I announced with a little panic. I don't know why I'm feeling like that.

"Nina, it's not your wedding, it's your best friend," Hazel said in her soft voice after looking at my panicked face. It sends little relief to my heart. "Let's go," she said with a faint smile while taking my hand. We both went to Jane's room to find her staring at her wedding gown with a nervous face.

"Hey," she said in her low voice when she notices both of us in her room.

"Hey," we both said with a known smile on our face.

"Let's get you ready," I said with a small smile. Listening to me she took a few deep breaths and nodded to us.

It took me almost two hours to do her makeup. When I was doing it I sent Hazel to collect our bridesmaid dress. She must be here at any time. Like listening to my inner voice door open and Hazel walked in but her face expression looked pissed. She kept the dress on the bed and looked at us with the same face but she was deeply lost in her thoughts.

"What happened?" I asked while stopping to apply Jane's lipstick. Listening to me Jane too turns her head to look at pissed Hazel.

"That man, what does he think about himself?" She said in her pissed voice. It's the first time we ever saw this angry Hazel. She is like a calm type of person with no violence rules.

"Who," I asked with furrowed brows.

"Zanvil's cousin," she said in her furious voice. Skyler! Everything clicks inside me.

"What did he do?" Jane asked as we both were looking at her in curiosity.

"That man is so arrogant and rude he always gets successful in pushing my buttons to the limit where I want to punch him hard," she said while moving her hands furiously like if she had Skys throat in her hand he would be dead meat.

"Calm down and breathe in and breathe out," I said while moving near her and handing her glass of water.

"Thanks," she said and gulped the water.

"Feeling better," Jane asked when she was done. She nodded at us with a calm face now and then didn't say anything about him. We let it slide.

"Now go and change I will do your makeup, after all, today we need to look good as bridesmaids," I said in my happy voice to cheer her up. She changed first then I changed. Our gowns we're light crimson color but with different patterns. Haze's gown pattern was one shoulder and mine with a cross pattern where straps end at the bottom of the shoulder leaving my shower and neck bare.

"You both look so good without even makeup," Jane said for the first time looking happy since morning.

"We look beautiful and you look breathtaking even without makeup too," Hazel said with a smile. I nodded in agreement with her. Jane is so beautiful. That's why I caught the Zanvil staring at her so many times without blinking.

"Come sit let's do makeup then we are ready to go," I said to Hazel while patting the chair in front of the vanity. With a big smile, she took the set. I did her makeup first then mine.

"Yes we have to do it fast so we won't miss the wedding," she said with a smile. After I did her makeup Hazel went down as aunty called her for final checking and all.

"Final touch and then you will be ready," I said curling her hair at the tip. She nodded with the same anxious face while fringing with her fingers.

"Jane stops that," I said in my gentle voice.

"What?" she asked, looking at me with confusion.

"Playing with your hands," I said with a small smile. I know she was more nervous because of what happened between her Zanvil before I found her crying.

"Jane I don't know what happened yesterday between you two. I don't know what he said to break your heart like that. The only thing I know is you. I know your strongest person whom I'm happy to meet in this life and I know you are a fighter. You always rise and shine in your bad times so never let him walk on you or on your feelings. Whatever happens in future remember I'm always with you" saying that I hugged her tightly. She hugged me too. I knew she needed this hug more than anything. Her tears unlisted I was crying too.

I can feel her pain. We are somewhere fighting the same kind of war.

I will give her the advice that I'm going to follow to the fullest. "So make his life hell show him he can't do whatever comes in his mind make him realize that you are my best friend. I'm always with you in your good or bad," I said while breaking our hug which caused her to smile at me. She nodded at me with a full teeth smile. She is my best friend and I will protect her in good or bad whatever situation comes in her path.

After some time Zanvil's parents came. They are so happy for her and Zanvil. After all, they are getting such a good girl for their devil son. Zanvils dad took Jane with him to walk the aisle. I too followed them as I was her maid of honor. Zanvil dad and Jane waited at the door to music to start whereas I and aunty Jenifer walked further.

As I started walking towards the stage we're Hazel was standing I felt a very familiar heated gaze on me. His predatory eyes were fixed on me like an eagle's eye is fixed on his prey. A cold chill passed to my spine. It was making me nervous. I didn't lift my head up and kept walking. I was feeling like I was walking the aisle. It was making me anxious. I took a deep breath and shook that feeling. I went and stood near Hazel who was busy looking at somewhere with a narrowed angry gaze. I followed her gaze and found out a staring competition was going on between Hazel and Skyler.

Skyler was looking at Hazel with the same hated angry gaze as her. I kept staring at them more than required. And then I just moved my eyes a little bit and it was the biggest mistake I made today. Jack was looking at me with a clenched jaw. He saw me staring at Skyler and now from his hard glare, I know he didn't like it.

As if I care if he is angry with me but I don't know why that thought passed a cold shiver to my spine. He was standing beside Impetuous Zanvil as his best man. He was wearing a black tuxedo with his hair combed neatly. He was looking....I swallowed hard at that thought.

How even that thought came to my mind.

His predatory light brown eyes moved from my head to toe making me more nervous. As his eyes moved all over me this unknown feeling started to spread inside me causing a lump to form in my throat. We kept staring at each other. I don't want to get affected by his stares. I don't want to feel the things his heated gaze is making me feel but I can't control my emotions anymore.

Out eyeing and was broke when the music started to play and Jane entered the aisle with Zanvil's dad. I lowered my eyes to control my raging emotions. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat and took a few deep breaths. When I felt my feeling we're intact I looked up at anxious Jane who was coming towards us. Jane was looking everywhere but not at her groom.

I know she is so afraid and nervous at the same time. Soon the wedding ceremony was done and this devil Zanvil didn't waste time in kissing the hell out my poor Jane. The crowd erupted in applause. Jane was so red when Zanvil spared her lips. I kept standing in the corner and looked at the Zanvil who was holding her so near to him like she will run away if he loses his grip a little bit. First time in my life I ever saw the great Zanvil the devil Adams smiling so brightly. He was smiling ear to ear.

How does it feel to be married to the right one?

With this thought in my mind, I just kept looking at them. A hand slipped around my waist and I was dragged back to a hard chest. A familiar cologne lingered in the air I breathed, making me intoxicated. The heat perforates from his body to mine giving birth to this unknown feeling inside me. I was not even up from this feeling this new sensation inside me. I felt wet lips at the junction of my shoulder and neck. As soon as his lips touched my sensitive skin a gasp left my mouth with goosebumps from all over my body making my breath jagged.

His lips didn't stop there and kept moving upwards. I involuntarily moved my hand over his hand which was resting on my waist as if I would fall down any second if I didn't take hold of something. I wanted to push him away from me but I couldn't find the courage to do it. His closed contact with my back. His presence made my mind mess.

God, what is he doing to me?

A lump formed in my throat making breathing hard for me. Gathering my courage I looked up In front of me to find not many people present over there all we're busy congratulating the newlyweds and taking advantage of it he came near me as he stood so close to me invading me to my personal space. I closed my eyes tightly when I felt him start rubbing his nose with small kisses all over my shoulder and neck. I started taking short breaths as he kept torturing me with his touch.

These unknown emotions were not making me feel any good but it didn't even make me hate them. This was making me even more scared. I don't know what he is doing to me. My chest heaved with the fear making me close my eyes in this new fear more tightly. I'm still angry at him for saying so many mean words to me. His nearness, his touch should make me feel unhappy but I don't know why I was not feeling the opposite.

He took a deep breath while resting his head on my bare shoulders like calming himself while his hot breath fanned my sensitive skin and it passed a tingle all over my body. My throat was completely dry when he moved his lips to my ear. "Don't look at him like this" he said in his dominating voice while taking deep breaths in my scent. In confusion, I opened my eyes and turned my face to look at him. Taking advantage he cupped my right cheek while his tumble started making lazy circles on my cheek. I lifted my eyelids and looked into his predatory gaze; they were already looking back at me.

"Don't look at Skyler like that," he whispers, taking away my confusion with him. His voice, his gaze, was taking over me. I wanted to look away from him but I couldn't move my eyes from him.

"When your eyes don't look at me I feel like burning every single thing that distracts you from looking at me," he said in the same calm dominating voice while moving his thumb on my slightly parted lower lip making my breath hitch.

His words sank in me and penetrated straight through my wildly beating heart. His analyzing eyes moved all over my face to read my raging feelings. His nearness, his touch, his power over me I couldn't bear it any second more. The weight of his words was so heavy and it was making breathing hard for me. I removed his hands from my waist and ran away from him. I hated how he made me feel completely opposite of what I was feeling for him since yesterday.

Only he had this power to do this with me. I hated what his touch was doing to me. What I hated the most was he had the power to make me feel the things that no one ever did. With this realization running inside my unclear mind I wanted to run away and hide somewhere. But I know there was no place where I could hide by not getting caught by his predatory light brown eyes.

He will find me!
