Where the hell does he go? I ran to my balcony with my numb limbs.

"Did he just jump off my balcony?" I whispered under my breath but there was no one down. I ran back to my mirror and looked at my reflection. My fingers curled into a fist.

"If he is not dead by jumping off from my balcony then he will surely die from my hands tomorrow," I said in my dark angry voice while glaring at five big bright crimson marks on my skin. Glaring at his ugly mark on my body made me huff in annoyance on the bed while grabbing a pillow with a tight grip.

"How dare he. He is crossing his line day by day. I told him never to touch me after he gave me his first ugly mark and the next thing I know he gave me five more ugly marks. I just hate him. If my body was not in shock and my bloody limbs were not numb because of his action. I would have surely pushed him down from my balcony happily so he could go back to hell" I said in my annoyed pissed voice while hiding my face in the pillow.

"Just wait for me, Jack Miller, I'm gonna kill you with my bare hands" I yelled in my pissed voice burning my face in my pillow.

"Already missing me my ugly duckling," said the mocking voice that came from a distance. It made me remove my pillow from my face and look at the balcony. I was ready to throw a pillow at his stupid smirking face but no one was there. Taking hold of my pillow I moved towards my balcony. I saw him standing on my adjoining balcony.

What the hell he is doing there.

"You are still alive. Just wait till I get my hands on you" I said in my angry voice.

"It's a good way to greet your neighbor," he said while folding his hands on his chest while showing me his canines.

WTF is his room beside my room?

Why the hell I didn't know it.

I thought while glaring at him. That's why he was able to come into my room without me knowing. "Neighbour my foot. Just wait there and I'm going to show you how I treat my neighbor" I said in my angry voice while narrowing my eyes at him and pressing the pillow to my chest with both my hands.

"For that, you need to come here," he said in his mocking tone, gesturing at the distance between us with a stupid smirk plastered to his face. There was a minimum of two feet of distance between our balconies.

How the hell he was able to jump there.

The most important question is how I'm going to jump there. He won't let me in his room from the door and I'm not going to jump from here. It must be his plan to make you injured so he could do his victory dance near my limb injured body. He knows you can't jump from here. He is making fun of you. My inner voice screamed at me. I eyed the distance between us angrily and then I moved my hateful gaze to him while squishing a pillow in my hand like it was his skull.

"Change of mind, be thankful to me my marks are making you look less ugly" he again said in a mocking tone while resting his elbow on railings and staring at bright crimson marks on my neck and shoulder. His words just ignited the fire inside me to burn more.

"You Satan go to hell" I screamed in more annoyance and next thing he knows my pillow landed on his stupid smirking face. His face moved back because of the force of the pillow making me grin in happiness. "This is how I treat my neighbors," I said that in my mocking tone with a big smirk on my face. The expression of his face was priceless.

He gripped the pillow tightly while glaring at me "Worse mistake" he said in his angry tone which passed shiver to my spine. Before he could throw the pillow back at me I ran back in my room not before showing him my tongue to put a cherry on the cake. I heard him cursing in anger. I locked my balcony's glass door.

"Now I see how he came into my room without my permission" saying that I lied back on the bed with a little pleased smirk.

The next few days of my stay here went in peace as whole the time I was in my room studying for my upcoming exam. Even though the fire of revenge was still burning inside me. But I didn't have time for it as my exams are more important for me. I avoided him all the time. It was better to stay away from him. He is bad news for me. But he would always find one or different methods to annoy me. I know me avoiding him was pissing him off more day by day because he had no one else to annoy in this big house and it was my silenced vengeance from him.

I don't know how almost three weeks went with aunty Sam, uncle Richard and while preparing for my exam. Dad used to call me all the time to ask how everything was going. Jane and I used to study all the time in the library so we could do our best on exams. We both wanted to get admission to the best college. Sometimes Ryan accompanied me to study when Jane couldn't come. Whenever it used to get late at the library Ryan used to come to drop me. Even though I refused him many times not to. For him, my safety was most important. His actions warm my heart. I knew he was a very caring and sweet friend.

Whenever he used to drop me at the gate of Miller's mansion, light brown colored eyes had his gaze fixed on use. Once Ryan hugged me to say bye but we both flinched at the loud sound of flower pot falling from somewhere. I knew it was him who did this to the poor flower port. He thought I would react to his cheap tricks but I ignored him. He just wanted a reaction from me so he could attack me.

Finally, after studying for a whole week, my exams were over and I was free. Holidays have started and I feel like going out to chill a little bit but Jane was already going out with someone. So I was lying on bed and thinking about my boring life when my cell phone started ringing. Ryan was calling me. "Hello, how are you Nina?" he asked In his nervous voice.

Why is he asking me like that?  

"I'm fine. We met yesterday too, did you forget already" I said with an amused smile on my face.

"Yes..yes I remember it how can I forget it" he again replied in his anxious voice.

"What happened, you sound different? Are you ok?" I asked in my worried voice.

"No. Yes. I mean I'm perfectly fine. It's just I wanted to ask," he said in his nervous voice but didn't complete his sentence.

"And what is it?" I tried to encourage him to say further in my calm voice.

"It's just I have two amusement park tickets. Will, you like to...to join me tomorrow" he asked in his nervous voice.

"Are you asking me out on a date?" I asked in my suspicious amused voice.

"Yes. What no...no it's not like that! Don't think in that way" he said in his anxious voice. "What I'm mumbling. Stop behaving like an idiot Ryan" he whispered yelled to himself but I could hear him.

"Nina it's not like that.." he tried to complete his sentence but I cut him in the middle and asked "At what time should I meet you at the amusement park" in my calm amused voice. 

"Don't be mad at me. Wait! what really. You will come with me" he tried to confirm it in his shocked voice.

"Why don't you want me to?" I said in my teasing voice.

"No… no. You don't have to worry about anything. I will pick you up at eleven tomorrow" he said in his cheerful voice.

"Ok then see you at eleven tomorrow," I said with a smile.

"Yeah...yeah at eleven, Good night and sweet dreams," he said in his happy voice. I wished him back and cut the call and pressed the cellphone to my chest with a smile on my face. 

He is too cute. He has always been so nice to me. He knew I would not reciprocate his feelings back but he still stayed by my side like a good friend. Until when I'm not going to get attached to someone. I have to give it a try to start something with someone at some point in my life. And I think he deserves a chance. I'm not expecting anything from him. It's not like we are going to be in a relationship just because we went to an amusement park. Nothing is going to change in between us. For me, he will always be a very good friend of mine. Even if something happens between us I would like to give a try to it. It's just my heart that needs to make the right decision. He needs to learn to recognize what's good for me. I just want to see where my heart takes me. With this thought in my mind, I drifted to sweet slumber with a small smile on my lips. 

The next day I woke up early to get ready for my day out. Standing in front of the sink I was brushing my teeth when my gaze fell on my neck where his faded marks were still present. I stopped brushing and involuntarily my hands moved to them. Just a mere touch of my fingers to his marks flashed that day's scene in front of my eyes. I tried my best to forget his touch but I was wrong. It's like it is imprinted in my mind which I could even take out even if I badly want to.

Stop it, Nina, stop it. Stop clouding your thoughts with him. I don't want you to think of him first thing in the morning.

My inner voice tried to put some sense in my brain. Closing my eyes I took a deep breath. It helped me to clear my head. Taking water I washed my face and mouth. After that, I removed my hair from my messy bun. It has grown so long. Should I cut it? I thought while looking at my reflection in the mirror. In a minute I made my mind that I should cut it because it has grown so long. I should cut it till my shoulder-length I thought while taking scissors from the crate of the bathroom.

You must be thinking how will I cut my hair well let me tell you I know how to give a proper haircut to myself. I have done it before too. Sometimes there were even failed experiments too. I remember that day when I cut my bangs for the first time. Dad was laughing at me for the whole day. It was a failed experiment. But after that, I watched so many videos and learned it now I'm a pro at it. Making a partition of my hair I cut it properly till my shoulder. Then I even cut my Air bangs which were perfectly going with my new haircut.

After that, I took a bath and started getting ready for my day. I wore a white off-shoulder jumper with a denim blue skirt then I combed my hair to set them properly. My hair is naturally straight so it doesn't need straightening. After that, I applied concealer to hide my almost fading marks on my neck and shoulder. I completed my look by applying a light brown lipstick on my lip. Overall my outfit and hair were looking good making me happy. With a pleased smile, I went down.

When aunty saw me coming down she blew a low whistle out of her mouth and said: "someone is looking hot."

Her words made me blush and said "aunty" with a sheepish smile on my face.

"Are you going on a date?" she asked me with a smile when I took a set to eat my breakfast.

"No aunty just going out with my friend to burst my exam stress," I said while eating my dinner. 

"So you are going out with Jane?" she asked while taking her set.

"No with Ryan," I said, taking one more bite of my breakfast. Listening to me she smiled, teasingly at me. "No, it's not like that," I said while looking at her expression.

"Ok ok, I won't tease you. But let me ask you one thing, are you trying to kill that poor boy with your hotness today" she again teased me, making me laugh out loud.

"Aunty noo," I said, still laughing hard.

"Ok ok I get it" she nodded her head in understanding while lifting her hands in the air. Ryan called me to inform me that he was waiting outside to pick me up.

"Bye aunty I'm going," I said with a small smile. 

"Enjoy your day," she said in her happy voice. 

Saying my bye to the aunt I went out to see Ryan waiting for me outside of his car while leaning on it. When he saw me coming he stood straight and started moving in my direction while staring straight at me. "Hey," I said with a smile. 

"He...hey you look so pretty," he said, still staring at me.

"Thank you. You are looking good too" I said while looking at him.

"Let's go," he said in his pleased voice. I nodded and sat in his car with him. In half an hour we reached the amusement park. We sat in almost all rides over there. He made me laugh all the time with his silly jokes. We both enjoyed it so much. I don't know how time went so fast. Now we were strolling in the amusement park.

"Which one was your favorite ride," I asked Ryan while eating cotton candy.

"I liked the swing boat," he said while eating his cotton candy "which one was yours," he asked while looking at me.

"I liked the roller coaster you made such a funny face in it," I said while laughing.

"No I did not," he said, taking a big bite of his cotton candy to hide his face.

"Liar," I said while laughing.

"I didn't lie" he tried to act brave. 

"So let's go and ride it one more time," I said to tease him.

"One more time," he asked with wide eyes making me laugh hard. While laughing my gaze fell on a familiar figure.

"Jane" I called her name while moving towards her. Ryan followed me.

"Nina," she said in happiness when she saw me. She came running to hug me. "If you had told me you were coming to an amusement park we would have come together. We would have had so much fun together," she said with a little sad voice.

"It was a last-minute plan," I lied to cheer her up. "Come I will introduce you to Ryan," I said to distract her. They both said hey to each other. 

"Do you want to join us? Jack is trying to win teddy for me in the game" she said in her happy voice.

When she mentioned his name to me my gaze fell on him. He was staring at me with a clenched jaw while looking at me up and down. His eyes were lingering at my hair. His stairs were making me feel funny in my stomach again but I won't let him know his piercing gaze is affecting me. I wanted to refuse her because I didn't want to stay in his presence one more second. But one look at Jane's happy eyes made me change my decision. I can't say no to her.

"Yeah sure why not," I said staring back at him with the same hatred then I moved my eyes to Jane's happy face with a smile on my face. 

"Wow, great come" Jane said in her cheerful voice while grabbing my hand and taking me near the counter of the shop. Then she introduced me to a girl who was with them. She seems sweet. Then my gaze fell on a figure who was leaning on the wall of the shop at the corner and was staring at happy Jane without blinking his eyes.

Why Zanvil the devil is staring at Jane like that. 

"Nina, do you want something? I can win for you" I was out of my thoughts after hearing Ryans voice. 

"What really," I asked in my happy excited voice. I was feeling a heated gaze on me all the time. 

"Why not anything for you babe. Just point at the teddy you want?" he said in his teasing voice, making me laugh. At the same time, I flinched hearing a gun closing loud sound.

"Easy boy, do not break my things" the shopkeeper scolded Satan.

Then he hands both of them plastic bullets to aim. Jack tried first but he missed it. Ryan tried it and he too missed it making my face fall. They tried again but missed now both had only one bullet Ryan. Ryan went for it first and he hit on the teddy which I pointed to him. I squealed in happiness and kissed Ryan's cheek when the shopkeeper handed me my teddy. Jack pointed again and he too won the teddy for Jane. Looking at her happy face made me happy too. She came and hugged me in happiness. She finds her joy in small things.

"Ok Jane we need to do something so we will leave first," I said with a smile on my face while breaking our hug.

"Ok meet you at school then," she said her little sad voice. I said my bye then I left from there not before giving Satan I hate you look. He was eyeing the teddy which I was holding near my chest in a firm hold. Ryan said his bye to Jane then we left them.

After walking for some time I said "I feel thirsty" while holding a teddy with both my hands. It was a little bit big.

"There are no shops here. You stay here, I will go and bring something to drink for you," Ryan said with a smile and I nodded and stood there while gazing at small kids who were playing with bubbles. 

"Is he now your boyfriend?" said the harsh family voice, making me look in his direction. I looked at him and then averted my gaze back to the kids. "I'm asking you something," he said in his harsh voice standing in front of me while coming very close to me.

I looked at him with a bored expression and said in my calm voice "And I don't see how it is your business."

Hearing me his jaw clenched "So he is" he said in his harsh voice with a clenched jaw while coming so near me. The teddy was the only thing which was stopping him from pressing his huge body with mine. "Why the hell did you cut your long hair," he asked me this question from nowhere, making me look at his angry face. Looking into his light brown eyes made my heart beat fast. He lifted his hand and curled my stray hair in his finger while his thumb was touching my cheek spreading a tingling sensation on my sensitive skin. His scent was lingering around my nose messing with my brain. His small action was making me lose my composure. His nearness was affecting my head again. I need to push him away to maintain my composure.

"Did he tell you to cut it" he again questioned me in a voice which I don't know. His eyes were burning in anger but I could see something else too in those light brown eyes but I could name it. 

Get a grip on yourself, Nina.

As soon as my brain screamed those words I immediately moved back away from him. "What if he asked me to. it's none of your business" I said in anger while taking a deep breath to calm myself.

Next thing I know he slipped his hand around my waist and pulled me near him. So close to him. His fingers curled around my waist in a firm grip, making me gasp in at his hold. My heart again started beating very fast. The distance which I created between us was zero again in a blink of seconds. The only thing which was saving me from touching his body was my poor teddy which was squeezing between us.

He moved his face near my ear and his lips were touching my ear passing tingling to my skin. He took a deep breath like trying to put water on his burning anger and then he let out a heavy breath. His hot breath fanned on my cold skin making my heart beat wildly. Then he said in his calm dangerous voice "You are playing a very dangerous game with fire my ugly duckling don't blame me when I burn everything with this fire and only ashes will be left in your hands to look at" making an unwanted shiver pass to my spine.

He then moved his face away from my neck and looked at me lifting his hand. He tugged my hair behind my ear. "Make him go away before I do. Trust me you won't like my way" he again said in his calm dangerous voice while looking straight in my eyes making me gulp unwantedly.

"Nina I bought strawberry smoothie for you" I heard Ryans cheerful voice making me turn my head and look at him.

He lifted his head and looked at me while moving near me. His face fell when he saw Jack standing so close to me. "Remember what I said to you" he again whispered in my ear in the same voice and let me go out of his hold. 

"Thanks," he said to Ryan and took the one glass from him. Making me look at him with narrowed eyes and next thing I know he spilled it all over the teddy making me gasp in horror. "I'm so clumsy" saying that he flashes me his canines with anger still burning his eyes and then he bumps his shoulder with Ryan making him stumble.

I stare at Stan's retiring back and whispered under my breath "what have I started"
