Chapter Nine
Two Days Later~
Bloodsucker: Jungkook, where are you?
Jungkook clicked his phone off and shoved it into his pocket before heading up the stairs. He could hear the shouts from the ground floor, the insults and the cries of pleas that only made him hasten his pace.
Despite the noise, Jungkook was shocked to see none of the neighbours were trying to the anything. In fact, no one was outside. Were they all used to the ruckus or were they too scared to do anything?
He'd met Bambam's father before. The man was Hulk-like with a permanent scowl on his face and a slight limp in his steps. He was also trying to murder his entire family that morning.
Jungkook had been in the home gym when Bambam's sos had come. He'd abandoned everything, gotten into his car and rushed over.
"FUCKING BITCH! COME OUT HERE AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE!"
"Sir," Liam, one of his security detail, called stopping him momentarily. "We'll take it from here."
When he'd come out of his house in such a rush, two of his family security men had jumped into a different car and followed close behind. Usually, he hated the arrangement that his father had made, but with how angry Bambam's father sounded, he was relieved they were here.
Jungkook nodded and they went ahead of him, stopping in front of Bambam's apartment. Liam banged on the door with the side of his fist. It took a minute before an answer came.
"Who is it?!" The deep voice snapped, eager to scare away whoever was at the door, before opening the door just a little.
Liam kicked the door open, shoving past the man, who tried to grab him around the neck but was lifted off the floor and pinned against the wall.
Jungkook rushed into the house, calling his friend's name. The place was a mess. Broken furnitures, sherds of glass, clothes littered everywhere. "Bambam!"
A door opened and Bambam peeked out of it, fear glazed all over his eyes. Relief flooded his face when he saw Jungkook. "Thank God! You came."
"Of course, I—" His words cut off at the sight of a gash on Bambam's forehead. It was a fresh wound and from the smeared blood at the side of his head, it was clear it had been hastily cleaned.
He tried to hold back his anger. He tried to stop himself from going over to where Mr. Soo was squirming and yelling at them to get out of his house, swearing he would sue them.
"Where are your mum and siblings?" He asked instead, after taking a deep breath.
Bambam gestured behind him where his mother was in a corner, hugging two 8 year-old girls to herself. She had a black eye and a split on her cheek where blood sipped through.
The bastard had really intended to kill his family.
"Get them. We have to leave now," Jungkook said to Bambam who nodded, and then rushed back into the room.
"I'LL SUE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE! YOUR PARENTS WILL HAVE A FIELD TRIP AT THE COURT WHEN I COME FOR THEM! YOUR THIEF OF A FATHER AND YOUR CUNT OF A MOTH-"
Jungkook's fist colliding with his mouth took the words out. It hurt to punch the devil's face but it was worth it when he heard the satisfying cry of pain and saw the blood trickling down his mouth.
"Say one more thing about my parents and I'll kill you right here before you even have a chance to make it to court," Jungkook gritted at him and that shut him up instantly.
Bambam soon came out with his mother and siblings, clothes shoved into backpacks that were hanging off his shoulders. His mother flinched when she saw her husband, powerless against the wall.
"Honey," He called, his expression softening. "I'm sorry, okay? I only got a little angry. Let's talk." Then he turned to Bambam. "Bambam, it's me, dad."
Bambam's eyes stayed focused on the floor.
Jungkook's heart hurt seeing Bambam so vulnerable and so in pain. If it were up to him, he'd pull some strings and have the animal locked up for the rest of his miserable life.
But he knew that decision was not his to make. Not even in the slightest. He could only suggest. He turned to Bambam's mother and said, "Can I speak to you for a second, Ma'am?"
She nodded and slowly made her way to him. Jungkook stepped into the Kitchen which was in as much disarray as the rest of the house. The man had really gone mental.
"Thank you for coming to our rescue even when you didn't have to," she said. She was a tall, striking woman with short black hair that ended just below her chin.
Jungkook nodded. "Of course," he said, and knowing there was no need beating about the bush. He told her what he felt. "You should sue him for domestic violence and abuse."
Her shoulders slumped making her looking shorter and her eyes glazed over with a different kind of sadness than the one she'd had earlier.
"I know it's going to be hard to bring yourself to do it. But you have to for the sake Bambam and the twins. They shouldn't grow up seeing something like this. And you shouldn't grow old experiencing this."
"He's the father of my kids," she said to him like that was reason enough not to carry out what he was saying to her.
"I know that," he said. He was trying to be reasonable but every time he looked at the black eye and remembered the cut on his friend's head, he felt an urge to be sterner, to make her understand her husband was a delirious bastard who would not stop beating her until she was dead. "But that gash on one of your kid's head was inflicted by his father. What if the next time this happens it's not a gash?"
"It won't happen again."
"It will, if you don't do anything about it. And this time it could be worse than a black eye or a cut on your cheek. You have to consider your life and—"
"It won't happen again because I'm leaving him," she said. "I appreciate your help and your concern. I really do, but I'm not suing my husband."
