"I play with friends, but we don't play friendly games." - Ben Hogan
IT was time for the BBQ and bonfire night with fun games, and Julia was practically begging Sana to get up and get ready so they could join the others. Sana didn't want to go outside, but Julia wasn't about to let her stay in. Everyone was outside, having fun, and even Siya had come by to check on them and call them to join. Yet, here Sana was, refusing to leave her bed as if she'd had her heart broken-as if Sidharth had cheated on her with that mini-skirt girl when they weren't even in a relationship.
"Sana, please get out of bed. Get dressed and show that idiot what you are," Julia urged.
"And what exactly am I?" She asked, her voice muffled for the pillows.
"My sexy lady. A bombshell. Who comes into my dreams and does dirty things with this poor girl," Julia said, in a flirty tone.
Sana grimaced at her remark. "Shut up, Julia."
"Then get up."
Sana pulled her face up from her pillow, looked back at Julia and smirked. "On one condition."
"What, my Mistress?" Julia asked, going down on her knees dramatically. "I can do anything for you."
"Ew, Julia!" Sana made a mocking, disgusted face. "This. Stop doing this."
"I will, Mistress Sana. Just agree to come with me," Julia begged, folding her hands, and a puppy face. She wants to go and enjoy with others. On top of that, she needs to work on her mission as well-Ram and Siya.
"Drama queen," Sana said, laughing as she finally got up from the bed. "Let's get ready, Pet."
"Yes, Mistress," Julia winked.
"You're disgusting, Julia," Sana said, and both laughed.
"I just wanted to make you laugh, Dumbo!" Julia replied.
"I know," Sana nodded, laughing.
They both got ready in a hurry. Sana wore faded blue jeans with a white crop top, a leather jacket resting casually on her shoulders, and her hair pulled back into a ponytail. No makeup except for some pink lip gloss and mascara. Julia, on the other hand, wore a blue crop top, denim pants and a leather jacket, her hair left open, also skipping makeup.
"My sexy lady," Julia complimented, followed by a whistle, making Sana giggle.
She always feels blessed to have a friend like Julia. Who knows her in and out? Julia informed her how Sidharth had pushed Puja away from him. That means he was trying to put up a show in front of her.
Listening, Sana cried once again feeling embarrassed; that was how early she fell into his drama. On top of that, she had a wild dream about them. Where she pushed the girl from the hill, then they were making out at the same place from where she pushed the mini-skirt girl minutes ago.
It was her embarrassment that she wasn't ready to go somewhere. But, deep down, she knows the truth is different. She was falling for a man who could never be hers... let alone someone else's. That man can't be with anyone. He is a player.
"Hot," Sana complimented her, before heading out to meet their friends.
They joined their friends. They were just sitting at an empty place away from people's eyes, enjoying cold drinks and the beautiful starry night. Along with them, others were also enjoying the night-talking, laughing, and gossiping-until the teachers announced it was time to prepare for the bonfire and BBQ.
They told them the rules. Two teams would be formed. One group would prepare everything for the BBQ, while the other would head to the nearby forest to collect wood for the bonfire. It wasn't serious, just some light-hearted fun task that everyone needed to participate in. Quickly, everyone got into the spirit of doing their task.
The girls took charge of preparing the BBQ, while the boys went off to gather wood and dry leaves for the fire. It only took about 20 minutes before the boys returned with all the necessary materials. They quickly got to work, creating a large pile of wood and lighting it. Meanwhile, the girls efficiently handled their tasks, setting up the BBQ and getting everything ready before putting the chicken on the grill.
As the food was cooking, the teachers called the girls to join the boys around the bonfire, reassuring them that they'd keep an eye on the food. The girls became happy, and everyone eagerly gathered around the growing fire, settling into the warmth, when the boys started discussing what game to play.
After a brief debate, they agreed to play "Never Have I Ever" for the night, saving something more daring for the following evening.
Sana, however, wasn't particularly interested in the game. Her gaze kept drifting toward Sidharth, who hadn't acknowledged her once. He was sitting directly across from her, wedged between Karan and Akhil, deep in conversation with his friends, as if she didn't exist.
"Don't look at him," Julia muttered from beside her.
"I'm not looking at him," Sana lied, her voice betraying her discomfort.
"Yeah? I can see that," Julia replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Don't give him the impression that you're desperate, Sana. Boys don't like that."
"I'm not desperate," Sana shot back, though the words felt hollow, even to her.
"Sure, you're not." Julia's sarcasm cut through again, relentlessly.
"Please stop," Sana snapped, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "I don't like it."
"Of course," Julia said, though the hint of amusement still lingered in her voice.
Sana sighed, her eyes once again flicking to Sidharth, who remained engrossed in his world. She told herself she wasn't bothered by his indifference, but deep down, she knew it wasn't true.
Pratik, one of her classmates spoke up, "Alright guys, I know you all already know the rules. But, still let me remind you once again. Because there's a slight change here. Each student will say something with 'Never have I ever," that they did. Then, whoever did the same will drink a sip of their cold drinks. As we don't have drinks here." He gives a wink
Everyone laughed at his words and cheered.
"Okay. Ladies and assholes, let's begin the game." Karan said, making everyone laugh once again.
"Never have I ever shed crocodile tears." Payel begins the game.
Apart from Sana, everyone took a sip of their drinks. All heads turned to her with questioning eyes, making her feel uncomfortable, but Julia jumped in to help her out.
"It was the time when Sana was 10. I had a beautiful Barbie doll that she liked, and she wanted one for herself. But, her parents refused to get her. So, she shed some crocodile tears in front of her sweet grandfather. He fell for her tears and brought two Barbie dolls for her. That old man loved her a lot. Maybe more than his son. Lucky bitch!" Julia side-hugged her, knowing Sana might get emotional a little at the mention of her late grandfather.
Few were in awe, some laughed finding it funny but Sidharth was sitting quietly with an unreadable expression on his face. But his eyes giveaway his emotions. It was soft and admirable. He was admiring her relationship with her grandfather, and Sana did notice the sudden guilt in his eyes for destroying her scooter earlier.
Like this, the first few questions were pretty simple, boring, and somewhere funny making Sana's mood automatically uplifted.
Students keep throwing questions after question like Never Have I Ever... believed in ghosts, pretended to be on the phone, met a celebrity, read an entire book in a day, been sent to the principal's office, turned my underwear inside out so I didn't have to wash it, and pretended to be sick to get out of school.
During these questions everyone had a great laugh, as most of the people did those somehow in their lifetime. Julia even shared her and Sana's school time adventure at the principal's office, getting caught and getting punished. Everyone laughed on it, but Sana noticed how Sidharth was quiet all the time looking at her in amusement.
She assumed he couldn't believe she could do something like this. Crazy and fun. His opinion shouldn't bother her, but it somewhere did.
What does he think I'm no fun?
"Sana, you okay?" Julia asked, noticing how she was glaring at Sidharth.
"Absolutely, I'm having fun, babe." Sana sounded extra excited which Julia found fake.
God! Sana has gone crazy because of Vyas.
"I can see," Julia nodded, smiling.
Sana could tell she was sarcastic but she ignored her tone. Technically she was ignoring everyone here, apart from one person who she should have actually ignored... Sidharth Vyas.
The man is actually ignoring her, listening to people's questions with a bored expression and drinking his diet coke.
Sana could tell he's not even playing the game seriously. He is drinking all the time. On every freaking question. She understood this when someone talked about cheating in exams. Sana could bet he never cheated in exams. He's an excellent student. A freaking topper. There's no way he could cheat.
Simply, he is here, waiting for dinner to be prepared, eat, then back into his dome. His tent. Then, maybe he'll call a junior girl to fuck. The last part soured her mood again. But ignoring the bitter feeling she tried to focus on the guy who is telling his bad experience after getting caught doing cheating in exams.
"I couldn't give my final exam that year. For that, I was badly bitten by my father with his favorite weapon... his belt." The guy finished in a sad tone.
Almost everyone laughed. Except for three people who were quiet. Sana, Sidharth and Ram. Sana and Ram were feeling empathy for him and Sidharth because he wasn't finding it funny or amusing. He still looked bored.
Sana couldn't help but call him, "Emotionless asshole."
"Who?" Siya asked from her left side.
"Vyas," Sana replied, simply.
"Ignore him." Julia reminded her.
"I'm doing that only." She lied on her face.
"Of course," Julia smirked.
"Shut up!" She chided. She was done with her, more with herself.
"Never have I ever played spin the bottle," A girl said.
Almost everyone took a sip apart from Sidharth and his gang members.
"We played it before. It was pretty wild." Kartik winked at Payel making her blush.
Sidharth rolled his eyes in irritation finding it cringe seeing their PDA. When they played for the last time Kartik and Payel got laid for the first time. All thanks to him. He got the chance to give a task to Kartik. So he asked him to kiss Payel. They did. But, then that one kiss led them in Kartik's bed.
This was another reason why he never kiss. Kissing someone is an intimate thing. Be it before sex, during sex or after sex. There are many people out there who fall for a person just after sharing a kiss. He doesn't want anything to happen like that with him. No, he won't fall for the girl. It's the other way around. That's why he does hook-ups with a no-kissing rule.
"As we can see many of you haven't played this game. How about we all play it tomorrow night or maybe in the afternoon so that we can do something crazy?" Karan proposed the idea.
Everyone cheers in excitement. "Yes!"
Sana noticed Julia getting excited too. But, her eyes moved on Ram then at Siya and Kapoor.
"Julia, no." Sana warned. But, Julia ignores her royally. "Bitch," she cursed getting pissed.
"Never Have I Ever....stayed up all night," A boy said.
Almost everyone had a sip of their cold drinks apart from a few students. One of them was Sidharth. Sana wondered what it could be. But her mood got sour thinking his waking up all night having sex with a random girl.
Sidharth noticed her expression with a small smile shaking his head. He understood what she was thinking looking at him, but that's not true.
He used to stay awake at night when he was a kid. He used to get scared of being all alone at his big house when his parents used to be busy somewhere. They're still busy. They don't care for him. Love him. Thinking about his parents, him smile fell, and he looked away from her.
Sana was still looking at him, trying to read his expression. Which he doesn't want to. He doesn't want her... Or anyone else's to know that scared child, his loneliness, and his vulnerability. He doesn't want anyone to know he's broken from inside.
There was a break in their game when their teachers announced it was time for dinner. Everyone was so excited for the game that they quickly finished their dinner and got back to their places to continue the game.
As Sana expected Sidharth backed out from the game calling it a night.
"What the... Why?" Akhil asked.
"I'm just tired man. I want to sleep." He reasoned, where in reality he was getting bored sitting here and drinking some stupid cold-drink.
"That's not possible. You and sleep? That too at 9. Impossible." Karan pointed out.
"Guys, please."
"No." Payel said. "I swear, it will get interesting. You won't get bored."
"So, she understood the problem. Fuck." Sidharth cursed her in the head.
I can't let him go. Not that easily.
"Looks like Vyas is a sour loser. Who is getting scared to play a fun game." Sana mocked, hitting exactly where she wanted.
His male ego.
This girl knows where to hit with her words.
"Fucking fine." He groaned, sat back at his place and glared at Sana, who gave him a victory smile. "Don't fucking laugh."
"What will you do, Vyas?" Sana asked, her voice challenging.
"Something you won't like." He said, but then an evil smirk comes on his handsome face making her nervous.
What is he up to?
"Or maybe something you'll love too much, Baby girl. That you'll beg for more." his eyes scan her body from head to toe making her flushed and shiver.
He's talking about sex? He and I? Without clothes? Body to body? Skin to skin?
Sana internally panicked when she noticed how everyone was looking at her with a knowing look, that he just openly threatened her that he will fuck her, if she doesn't stop laughing. But, she stopped laughing long ago.
"Let's continue," Ram breaks the ice, and the game continues.
At first the questions were pretty simple one. Simple but not boring. At least, Sidharth didn't find it boring. In fact, he looked pretty interested in those questions.
Given a lap dance-Sana never did. So he made a plan to make her do it for him later. Maybe tomorrow will be a perfect day for it.
Kissed a friend's ex-Karan did. Sidharth laughed when Akhil lashed on him for kissing Yuvika, his ex. He knew that but still found it funny when Akhil gave a hard punch on his face making him bleed.
"Sadistic asshole." Sana thought.
Cheated on someone-some people told their story which he found amusing. That, how casually they're talking about it. Like, it's not wrong.
Had a friend with benefits-it was Kartik and Payel. He knows that. But, here they just exposed their relationship.
"Idiot fuckers." He cursed.
"Disgusting!" Sana mumbled.
Been arrested-everyone was shocked knowing Sidharth Kapoor was arrested once for a hit and run case. A man died. It wasn't his fault entirely as the man came in front of his car, fully drunk. But he got bail using his father's power and money. His father gave money to that man's family as a penalty.
Kissed someone-Sana was shocked knowing Sidharth never kissed. Anyone. Ever.
What the fuck!
On the other hand Sidharth was mentally fuming knowing Sana kissed someone. Someone who wasn't him.
"I don't kiss, then why I'm getting mad over it. It's her life. She can do whatever she wants to do. I am no one." He told himself.
But I want to be someone!
Had a crush on a teacher-Julia had on one of their professor named Rajveer.
"That hotshot sir?" Siya asked in a teasing tone, eyeing him. He was here with them and was watching Julia with a shocked expression.
"Yes," She nodded blushing, feeling his gaze on her.
Made out in a public place-he did. But he got shocked knowing Sana did it too. He was eager to know who that guy was or in his language who was that motherfucker she had been with before.
"Where?" Siya excitedly asked Sana about getting Sidharth's interest.
"Movie theater." Sana blushed out of embarrassment.
"Who was it?" Sidharth asked, acting casual.
"I'm not answerable to you, Vyas." She shot back, remembering he also did with someone.
Both glared at each other for sometime before the game continues with more wild questions.
Gone skinny dipping-Sidharth and his friends group did, along with a few other boys. This revelation made Sana more angry with him.
"I don't know what to say about this man. Shameless." She cursed him and the girl he did with. In fact all the girls he had been with in the past.
Being in love with your best friend-Sana and Julia weren't shocked seeing Ram lying about it.
Kissed my best friend-Everyone cringed when Payel and Kartik shared a kiss.
"Don't ever do that." Sidharth warned, pissed.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Kartik asked, eyeing Sana. He knows his friend.
"Nah. Just done with you both." He said, deadpan.
"As you say," Payel said giving a knowing smile to him.
"Fuck off!" He was so done with them.
Been called a player-Sana wasn't shocked seeing Sidharth as being called a player. It was expected.
Ever stalked someone's Instagram account-both look at each other with narrow eyes after knowing both stalked someone's Instagram.
"Did you?" Sidharth asked, in a mocking tone.
"No." Sana answered. "Did you?"
"Not even in my widest dreams." He answered simply. But both knew they were lying to each other and it somewhere got proved by the next question.
"Never have I ever.... lied while playing this game." Sana asked, eyeing him.
He grabbed his bottle, cheers with her as she was already holding her bottle in hand, and took the last sip of his cold drink looking at her, seeing her following his movement.
I knew it.
