The following day, Jimin and Minjeong get up bright and early. There's barely any time for Jimin to appreciate how nice it is to slowly wake next to Minjeong and not have to deal with a hangover for once. Minjeong always looks so peaceful while she sleeps and Jimin just hates that she has to be the one to ruin it, but there's Yunjin's itinerary that requires their attention.

"Hey Minjeong," Jimin murmurs as she gently nudges the blonde. "It's time to wake up."

Minjeong pouts adorably, "Already?"

"Yeah," Jimin chuckles lightly. "I'm sorry, you can hang back if you– "

"No, no. I'm up," Minjeong groggily assures her as she begins to stir.

Jimin struggles to keep from kissing away the residual sleepiness. Instead she hops out of bed first to find an outfit. The more distance she puts between them right now, the better or else they're never going to leave this bed.

"We can stop by the Lima Bean on our way over to the venue if you want?" Jimin calls out to Minjeong who's rubbing her eyes with her fists.

"Yes please, I don't think I'll make it without having a coffee."

As Minjeong gets up and does a big stretch, Jimin can't help but stare as Minjeong's shirt rides up. Usually Minjeong's sleepwear consists of baggy t-shirts but she opted for a tank top this time and that's probably what fueled their late night antics. Even now, Jimin falls victim to how good Minjeong looks.

It isn't until Minjeong grabs the hem of her shirt and slow starts to pull it up that Jimin snaps to attention. When she meets Minjeong's gaze, she finds mischievous brown eyes starting back.

"You're such a tease," Jimin jokes as she turns away to focus on getting ready.

Minjeong only giggles as she busies herself with doing the same.

Once they've had a quick breakfast and make a pitstop at the Lima Bean, the couple arrives to the address of the reception venue Yunjin sent through the day before.

As Jimin looks around, she begins to recognize the place as the venue one of the private schools use to host prom. It's a nice place, she remembers being so jealous because her high school hosted prom in the gym – complete with the residual scent of sweaty boys.

This place though? It smells like money and privilege so Jimin finds it rather fitting that Yunjin's chosen it for the reception.

Jimin and Minjeong find Yunjin and Bruce waiting near the front entrance of the building. There's a cloud of smoke wafting around Bruce and Jimin rolls her eyes because really? She's still in so much disbelief that her uncle is totally fine with Yunjin marrying that bum. Then again, for a bum he's pretty successful so who is she to judge?

"Uhm, you went to Lima Bean?" Yunjin pouts. "Where are our drinks?"

"You didn't ask," Jimin shrugs.

"Well you didn't tell me," Yunjin huffs.

"Sorry," Jimin slurps through her straw loudly before adding. "Not sorry."

Minjeong pokes her side before looking to Yunjin with a smile on her face, "We'll pick you up something next time. You too, Bruce."

He bobs his head, "Dope."

"So this is the place?" Jimin mentions. "I'm surprised you didn't build something just for the occasion."

"I tried," Yunjin sighs. "Daddy said it would be too time consuming."

Jimin smirks, "Of course he did."

"It looks really great though," Minjeong adds kindly as she links their arms together.

Jimin agrees, "This area doesn't even look like it should be apart of Lima."

"I know, right?" Yunjin beams. "Most of the fam lives around here still so I thought less travelling for everyone rather than making them fly out to Florida. Plus Bruce thinks it's nice too."

"Totally," Bruce gives her a dopey grin before throwing an arm around Yunjin. "Ready to check it out?"

"Let's," Yunjin nods and leads the way inside.

The event planner gravitates to Yunjin's side almost instantly and the two begin babbling on about schedules and floorplans. Jimin tries to follow along but she can't see why she needs to. Actually, she can't see why her and Minjeong need to be here when the rest of the bridal party isn't either.

"You're scowling," Minjeong whispers with a squeeze to their joined hands. There's just enough space between them and the others so they can't be heard. "Why?"

"Because I'm bored," Jimin grumbles.

"I can fix that."

Jimin lifts her brow and asks, "How?"

"We passed the restroom on the way in. Maybe you need help with your zipper again."

Jimin's eyes widen as she turns to Minjeong, but all she finds is that mischievous look in her eyes again. She shakes her head at it and gives a squeeze to their hands.

"Don't threaten me with a good time if you're not going to come through," Jimin jokes.

"Who said I wasn't going to?" Minjeong smirks.

Jimin shakes her head again, "When did you become such a troublemaker?"

Minjeong stifles a laugh, "I'm a product of my environment."

Jimim raises her brow at that, but instead of delving deeper into what that could mean she focuses back on their current situation.

"I don't even know why we're here," Jimin says.

"It must be important if Yunjin asked."

"You think?" Jimin questions. "Yunjin's hit or miss when it comes to what she thinks is important. She once called me up at 4 in the morning with this so-called important favor to ask. I thought she wanted me to pick her up from some party she shouldn't have been at or go with her to get a pregnancy test."

"Well, what was it?"

"She had an ice cream craving," Jimin deadpans. "She didn't want to go to the store alone and possibly be judged so she called me."

"But did you go with her?"

Jimin sees where this is going, "Maybe..."

"Well then maybe you're here because she values how reliable you are?" Minjeong suggest before a smile begins to form. "And she knows you'd do anything for her because you love her so much. She trusts you."

Jimin rolls her eyes before dismissively saying, "I guess."

"Jimin!" Yunjin suddenly calls out to her. "What do you think about having the DJ booth and dance floor here instead of over there?"

"See?" Minjeong teases.

"Shush," Jimin waves off as she steps up to look over the floorplan in Yunjin's hands.

They end up spending hours at the venue mostly trying to finalize the floor plan before they move on to the menu tasting. Although Bruce is around, Yunjin continues to seek Jimin's opinion or advice which is only further proof that Minjeong was right once again.

After getting over the initial annoyance of it all, Jimin ends up leaning into how Yunjin relies on her. It's kind of nice to be needed like this so Jimin doesn't complain as much, especially not when she's getting free food for all her hard work.

There's also Minjeong who keeps up with the innocent touches and lingering looks that make it all the more bearable. With Minjeong's hand on her thigh while they share pieces of wedding cake, how could she find anything to complain about?

"Thank you so much for today," Yunjin says as the four of them make their way to the parking lot.

"It's cool," Jimin shrugs off attempting to be cool about it. "I'm surprised Uncle wasn't here though? I thought he'd definitely be around for the menu tasting."

"Daddy isn't in town until tomorrow," Yunjin frowns. "I was trying to hold off on doing all of this until he could come but he had to work. That's why I asked you and Minjeong to come with instead."

"Why us?" Jimin chuckles. "I'm sure you could've asked my mom and Grandma. They'd be all over this."

"I know but," Yunjin hesitates. "You guys are like...couple goals. I figured including you guys in the planning might be lucky. You know my dad, he's been married like a bunch of times so I doubt he gets it."

"Oh," Jimin softens and looks to Minjeong. She hates how guilty she begins to feel; Yunjin's fallen for their lie so hard that she's keeping them around for luck.

"Is that weird? That's weird," Yunjin laughs it off. "Anyway, thank you for helping me. You too, Minjeong. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Right, Bruce?"

"Yeah," He nods. "You guys are super chill."

Jimin looks to Minjeong, unsure of what to say. Minjeong grins and puts her arm around Jimin, "We're happy to help."

"Well don't forget," Yunjin reminds Jimin. "Tomorrow morning we have to pick out flowers."

Jimin groans, "You haven't done that yet?"

"No, I wasn't sure if I wanted them until yesterday," Yunjin explains. "So don't be late, I want first dibs."

Jimin's already feeling stressed, but Minjeong's able to ease her with a kiss to her temple.

"Okay fine," Jimin relents. "I'll be there."

On the drive home, Jimin dwells on what Yunjin mentioned about couple goals. It's a ridiculous saying and she knows it's ridiculous and yet she still feels so guilty about it. She and Minjeong played their roles so well that they convinced Yunjin their relationship is something she could look up to.

How messed up is that?

When they break up, they'll be yet another couple who didn't work out and picturing Yunjin's disappointment only makes Jimin's stomach churn. That guilty feeling attaches itself to all the false hopes and little lies that have branched out because of her and Minjeong's fake relationship.

Jimin didn't realize how far its reach went, she didn't account for how much damage she'd be responsible for when it's over. It wasn't supposed to be such a big thing. She only needed it to convince her mom she was responsible enough to keep a career, but this relationship has become so much more.

It's daunting and overwhelming, it has Jimin thinking about revisiting their plan a lot soon rather than later.

Jimin considers bringing it up once they get back to Jessica's, but Grandma surprises them with cooking Jimin's favorite then comes the drinks and dessert. Before they know it, Jessica's helping Grandma hook up the karaoke mics. They're all gathered around the living room for listening to Taecyeon sing bad karaoke and it's such a light way to end Jimin and Minjeong's day.

Jessica starts them off with big hits from the 80's which she absolutely kills before she's passing the mic to Jimin. At first, Jimin refuses because even if she has a good buzz going she's still hyper sensitive of Minjeong's presence but then everyone – including Minjeong – start to chant her name, begging her for a song.

"Give me that," Jimin feigns annoyance although her smile is big and bright. She glances over to Minjeong and nods, "Pick out a good one."

"You want me to pick?" Minjeong giggles, "The only song I've heard you sing are Christmas ones."

"Don't put on any of that," Jimin jokes before Grandma steps in.

"I'll show you her favorites," Grandma says. "Jimin loves the 80's and 90's."

When Minjeong glances over at her, Jimin makes a show of flipping her hair. The move makes her feel a little dizzy and she wonders how many times Jessica topped up her margarita glass when she wasn't looking.

"How about this?" Minjeong asks as she selects a song.

"Oh this is a good one," Grandma notes. "Jimin loves Whitney."

"Who doesn't," Minjeong jokes as she turns to Jimin.

Jimin focuses on taking another sip of her drink, wanting to be surprised by Minjeong's choice. She waits for the opening chords before she starts to smirk as the sound of 'How Will I Know' starts to play.

"Hold this," Jimin says as she passes Minjeong her margarita glass to hold before she begins to sing. She makes a couple pronoun changes of her own to the lyrics and loves the way Minjeong beams at the sound of it.

If she wasn't coasting on a great buzz, there's no way in hell Jimin would be doing this right now. First of all, the song Minjeong picks hits a little too close to home for her but the lyrics are disguised by the upbeat music so it doesn't give her a chance to really think about it. All she cares about at the moment is singing the song perfectly and putting on a good performance for Minjeong and her family, who knows if there will ever be another like it.

So she dances around as she sings, making an absolute spectacle out of herself in attempt to live in the fleeting moment. However despite how carefree and easy it feels, Jimin knows there are important things to be handled and the faster she handles them the better she'll feel.

It's only a matter of picking the right moment to air everything out.

( do play, Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls )

"I didn't know you could sing like that," Minjeong mentions a while later as they're getting ready for bed. "I mean, I did because I've heard you before but that was only along to the radio. I didn't know you could do that."

Jimin takes the compliment in stride although it makes her face feel hot.

"Can you see now why Wendy wanted me to join her girl gang so bad?" Jimin asks jokingly.

"Definitely," Minjeong chuckles. "You're really good. Like, I'm not just saying that."

"I know," Jimin smirks as they get to their designated sides of the bed.

Minjeong looks at her with brows furrowed, "You know you're good or you know I'm not just saying that?"

"Both," Jimin tells her.

Minjeong chuckles as they slide beneath the covers, "Always so humble."

"Always," Jimin grins.

They settle on their sides, their heads on perched on their pillows and bodies titled towards each other's. Even with the lights off, Jimin can see how Minjeong watches her with such softness in her eyes. It makes her feel see-through and it reminds her of nerve racking conversations that need to be had.

Although she doesn't want to ruin a great night, Jimin knows if she keeps stalling then it'll end up being a conversation that's had at the very last minute and she doesn't want that.

"Minjeong," Jimin whispers the name and she already feels the nerves coming.

"Hmm?"

"Can we...," Jimin feels so small. "Can we talk?"

They're still facing each other so Jimin can see the moment when something that looks a lot like fear flashes in Minjeong's eyes. She wonders what the blonde has to be afraid of when Jimin's the one who is so terrified. She sees brown eyes dart away before Minjeong's shuffling onto her back.

"Talk?"

"Yeah."

"But we never do that," Minjeong mumbles.

Jimin swallows dryly, "I know...but I think we have to. Remember?"

Minjeong's hesitant to nod, "I remember. What do you want to talk about?"

It's a loaded question, one that Jimin really hasn't put a lot of thought into she just knows that it has to happen. It's not like she has a list of dot points she's wanting to hit, but maybe she should because she's starting to blank.

What does she want to talk about?

Jimin blurts what comes to mind first, "What do we do when this is all over?"

Minjeong's lips part, but she doesn't say anything and her silence only makes Jimin blurt out more questions and thoughts.

"I didn't expect people to grow so attached to what we've created," Jimin rambles. "I don't know how I'll be able to break it to them after the wedding that we're over. Yunjin's put us on a pedestal and I can't even think about how Grandma and my mom will react to the news. I didn't account for all of this, then...then there's us."

Jimin watches as Minjeong stiffens. She can't tell whether or not it's a good thing, but she continues to rant because it's so hard to stop now that the floodgates have opened and little truths have started to come tumbling out.

"What are we after this?" Jimin asks. "We're meant to be friends but I didn't think we were the kind who slept together. I'm not complaining, but I didn't think you were the type to keep those kind of friends around. I just, I don't know what will happen to us once this is over."

Minjeong doesn't answer for a long time and each second that ticks by makes the wait even more unbearable. Jimin starts to second-guess whether or not she should've brought the whole thing up in the first place, but then Minjeong speaks.

"Well," She says shakily. "What if we didn't go through with it?"

Jimin looks skeptical, "Go through with what?"

"The breakup," Minjeong answers and glances Jimin's way. "What if we just...stayed together?"

Jimin freezes; her jaw's slack and her breathing has stopped as she stares. She knows what Minjeong's hinting at and she's in utter disbelief because what? Staying together means Minjeong feels something, obviously, and she wants to try to be something real with Jimin.

They're all things Jimin suspected, but it doesn't make it any less surprising. If anything, it confirms Jimin's fears of Minjeong wanting more than she can give her so she knows what she has to do now.

"You – you don't want me," Jimin stammers. "I'm not good at this relationship thing."

Minjeong seems surprised, "These past few months would suggest otherwise."

Jimin shakes her head, "It was just pretend – all acting – you knew that."

"Was it though?"

Jimin clenches her jaw because she knows the truth would fall out and she can't have that happen. If she's setting herself up to pull away then telling Minjeong how she truly feels won't do her any favors.

"It's really not a good idea," Jimin tries to explain.

"Why?"

"Because it just isn't, Minjeong."

"No," Minjeong hardens her gaze. "You're going to have to give me more than that. I've played along with you, tried doing this your way, but I draw the line here."

"What's the point of drawing lines when we're always crossing them?" Jimin asks but Minjeong doesn't waver.

"You have to say it, Jimin. Don't give me a bullshit answer, you have to tell me why."

Jimin almost cowers at the tone, but she keeps steady. If Minjeong wants an explanation then Jimin has to at least give her that.

"This – this is why it wouldn't work between us," Jimin reasons. "I can't communicate for shit. I don't know how to express my feelings or how to deal with them properly. I've been holding onto all this hurt and anger from a girl who broke my heart nearly three years ago and I still let it control me."

Minjeong frowns as she listens to Jimin, "I could help you."

"But that's the thing, I shouldn't have to rely on you for help," Jimin argues. "I should be able to solve my own problems without anyone having to hold my hand. "

Minjeong bites her lip and Jimin regrets the change of tone.

"It wouldn't work because you deserve more than someone who can't move on," Jimin tells her sternly. "You can do better than being stuck with me. When it comes down to it, I'm just not worth it. "

Minjeong reaches out to cup Jimin's cheeks, "But I think you are."

Jimin squeezes her eyes tight to keep from letting the tears fall. She shakes her head as if it would wave off Minjeong's look of pure adoration.

"I know how I am," Jimin tells her. "I'm bound to mess this up because that's what I always do."

"What happened to people change?" Minjeong asks softly.

"I told you," Jimin replies. "Waiting is a waste of time. You of all people should know that."

"I of all people know that you're wrong," Minjeong argues. "It's not a waste of time; not to me."

"But things with Jake didn't—"

"I'm not talking about Jake," Minjeong interrupts. "I'm talking about you. You're worth the wait."

Jimin softens as Minjeong pulls away. She still keeps her gaze fixated on her, but her brows are knitted so tightly together. All Jimin wants to do is reach out and ease it away but she knows she's the reason for it.

"Look Minjeong," Jimin says. "You're too important to me now and I don't want to be another person in your life that turns around and hurts you. I rather have you at a distance than to not have you at all."

Minjeong's frown deepens, "Why did you even ask what happens after the wedding when you so clearly have your mind made up?"

Jimin bites her lip – she wishes she had an answer to give but nothing makes sense anymore.

"Do we just pretend that we stopped faking this relationship a long time ago?" Minjeong asks. "Johnny's party, Nationals, Miami? What did all of that mean?"

Jimin shakes her head, "I – I don't know."

Minjeong's jaw tightens, "What about Philly? You said you wanted me there, that's why I came."

Jimin frowns; when did she ever ask Minjeong to come to Philly? She can't remember, all she knows is that Minjeong and Jaemin surprised her. She considers asking, but now doesn't seem like the best time. What difference would it make anyway?

Minjeong lets out a bitter laugh, "God...it's always one step forward and three steps back with you."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let this get so out of hand," Jimin replies remorsefully. "I should've known better, I should've known how complicated this would get. I can't give you what you want."

"And what do I want, Jimin?"

Jimin's eyes dart back and forth between Minjeong's and they're wild with something unfamiliar. It makes Jimin feel small but she stands her ground.

"You want easy."

Minjeong rolls her eyes, "No, I don't."

"You do!"

"Jimin, I want you," Minjeong tells her and she's so exasperated as she looks back. "Don't you see that?"

Jimin stiffens; all she can do is stare. She's familiar with what it's like to be admired, to be desired, to be lusted after, to be envied – but wanted? The only time she's ever wanted is for a good time, but she doubts that's what Minjeong means judging by the look in her eye.

"You're frustrating and impossible and you overthink the simplest things. You make everything seem so complicated but I wouldn't have you any other way," Minjeong explains. "I already know you aren't easy, nothing about you is, but there's a reason for everything. There's a reason why you're so difficult to get through to, you're hiding a heart of gold."

Jimin softens as Minjeong stares adoringly at her.

"Underneath that mask you cling to is someone who's warm and kind," Minjeong adds. "And I've grown very fond of that someone – that's exactly why I'm still here. I'm waiting for you to pull your head out of your ass so you can realize that you and I can work if you just try."

Jimin's slow to reply, slow to let Minjeong's words seep in. It's a kind of reassurance she didn't realize she craved, but although it clears up a few questions – it doesn't clear up all of them.

"What happens if after all that waiting, I'm not what you thought I'd be?" Jimin asks. "What if you get tired of the same shit I'll probably put you through, then what? We'd tear apart this thing we've built together and I don't want us to get to that point. I don't want to go back to hating you."

"You won't," Minjeong pleads before she's reaching for Jimin's face again. "But you have to at least try this with me."

Jimin didn't realize she was crying until Minjeong was kissing away the tears that rolled down her cheeks. Her chest heaves and aches with the weight of everything pressing down on her and yet, here Minjeong is still attempting to hold the pieces of her together.

It's too much of a risk for Jimin to take. She can't put all her trust and faith into someone again knowing how easily it can be abused. She doubts her heart could take that again, but Minjeong seems to think differently.

"You're worth all the time and patience," Minjeong tells her. "You think you're a bad person, so incapable and undeserving of anything good, but you aren't. You've been hurt before and you're scared – but honey, that doesn't mean you aren't allowed to feel anything for anyone ever again. It doesn't change the way I feel about you."

Jimin wants to believe her but she just...can't.

"I'm sorry," Jimin replies dejectedly. She hopes she doesn't need to say more – she doubts she'd be able to get a coherent sentence out by this point.

Minjeong seems to get the idea as her eyes begin to brim with tears too. It's Jimin's turn to wipe away the ones that start to fall and she hates that she's the cause of them.

"You know," Minjeong mumbles. "I thought that if I was patient and I kept at it that I might've been able to show you that it's not always so scary – having these feelings for someone. Sometimes they're really wonderful."

"I bet," Jimin says through a watery smile.

"I thought that maybe I could be the one to convince you," Minjeong adds. "I thought you'd see that trying again could be worth it as long as you were trying it again with me."

Jimin looks away guiltily, "I wish that was enough. You have no idea, how much I wish that was enough but I'm a mess and it isn't fair if I drag you into it."

"I know," Minjeong sniffles as she nods. "You won't be able to let anyone new love you until you've let go of the last one who hurt you and I don't know how to help you with that."

Even at a moment like this, Minjeong's still so selfless.

Jimin sees the sadness in Minjeong's eyes and all she can think of doing to fix it is to kiss it better. She knows that isn't enough though, but still, she tries because that's all she has left to give. Minjeong's lips taste like salty tears and spearmint but Jimin breathes her in all the same.

"You should come with a warning label," Minjeong whispers a moment later.

Jimin caresses her cheek as she stares curiously, "What do you mean?"

Minjeong attempts for her words to come off lighthearted but Jimin sees through it.

"You're very easy to fall in love with."

Jimin brows rise in surprise; did she hear that correctly?

"You're in love with me?" Jimin asks to be certain.

Minjeong shrugs, "I thought it was obvious?"

"It's news to me," Jimin replies truthfully and it has Minjeong letting out a disheartened laugh.

"Of course it is," She says before she's cradling Jimin's chin. "That's probably one of the most frustrating things I love about you. You're hopelessly, adorably, annoyingly clueless most of the time."

Jimin smiles guiltily, "I'll catch up soon."

"I know you will," Minjeong returns the grin before it softens. "But don't make me wait forever."

Jimin nods solemnly, "I'll try not to."

The morning after starts similarly to the one before, except this time Jimin spends a little longer admiring Minjeong. After last night, Jimin knows their days are numbered thanks to her. She keeps trying to tell herself that it's for the best – and it is, so long as Jimin's really working on herself in the meantime.

And maybe that's the silver lining in all of this? She and Minjeong can't work now, but that doesn't mean they never will.

Jimin's realized that she's capable of growth so long as she strives for it. Relationships and significant others – they aren't responsible for fixing her. The mature thing to do would be to sort her shit beforehand because getting into something real with Minjeong wouldn't magically make all the bad go away.

No, if Jimin truly wanted better for herself – for her potential future with Minjeong – then change has to happen from within.

There's hope, Minjeong has shown her that, but hope runs out – Minjeong's shown her that too. All Jimin has to do is learn how to carry her baggage without letting it crush her; only problem is, where does she even start?

With one look at Minjeong, Jimin is more determined than ever to figure it out.

"Leaving already?" Minjeong mumbles as she feels Jimin's lips press delicately to her cheek.

"Yeah," Jimin pauses as she runs her thumb over dried tear tracks. "Yunjin awaits."

"Boo..."

Jimin snickers, "Well, someone promised her a trip to the Lima Bean so she's here a little early."

Minjeong smiles though she keeps her eyes closed, "Sorry not sorry."

Jimin chuckle and brushes blonde hair from Minjeong's face. She wishes she could curl up next to her; maybe shut her brain off for a little while longer and just relax instead of going through the motions of whatever Yunjin has planned.

"Enjoy the sleep in," Jimin says as she starts to move away. "Hopefully I'll be back by lunchtime."

"Wait,"

Jimin pauses and watches Minjeong snuggle in deep against the pillows. She's sure that if Minjeong were to ask her to stay, she probably would.

"Could I have another?"

Jimin lifts a brow, "Another what?"

"Kiss."

Jimin can only smile and fulfill her wish.

As Jimin and Yunjin pull up to the Lima Bean, Jimin stares blankly out of the window. She can hear Yunjin rambling, the girl has been talking nonstop since Jimin got into the car, but Jimin can't hear a thing anymore. The longer she's been awake, the more she remembers her and Minjeong's conversation from the night before.

Who knew it was possible to feel like the biggest idiot while also being the most considerate person in the world? Doing the mature thing freaking sucks!

"Are you okay?" Yunjin questions.

Jimin glances her way and shrugs, "Yeah?"

Yunjin looks skeptic, "Did you see that lady in the Cheetah print jumpsuit?"

Jimin scans the parking lot and notices the woman, "What about her?"

"What do you mean what about her? Do you see what she's wearing?"

Jimin glances in the woman's direction again, but with her mind elsewhere, she only shrugs.

"Yeah something's definitely up with you," Yunjin replies. "Also isn't she your old Coach? Sue something?"

Jimin looks again and sure enough, it is. She lets out a low chuckle, "Wow."

"That's all?" Yunjin raises a brow as the driver comes around to open the door for them. "Did you even look at her shoes? Where's the snark, the sass, the brutal judgement that I love so much?"

Jimin softens; she can't let what's going between her and Minjeong put a damper on the mood, not when Yunjin's Big Day is just around the corner.

"Maybe it'll come once I've had a coffee," Jimin reasons with a smile. "You know how I am in the mornings..."

"True," Yunjin brushes off as they get out of the car. She keeps looking at Jimin warily while they walk towards the entrance, but she doesn't mention it again. "So I was thinking we'd look around at what the local florists have to offer first and if we can't find anything then we hit up Columbus."

Jimin gives her a look, "We're not driving all the way to Columbus for flowers."

"I was just checking to see if you were listening," Yunjin smirks as they enter the shop. "We'll only go as a last resort."

Jimin narrows her eyes as she follows after Yunjin.

Yunjin looks around the busy café aimlessly, "Wow this place has not changed one – oh shit—"

Jimin glances Yunjin's way and watches as the girl goes pale. She instantly rolls her eyes at the dramatics.

"What?" Jimin jokes. "Are they out of your precious organic oat milk?"

"No, no. It's not that."

"Oh, have you switched to almond again?"

"No," Yunjin skids to a stop so fast Jimin nearly runs into her.

"What the hell, Yunjin?"

"My bad," Yunjin turns to Jimin suddenly. "You know what? I just forgot I had to pick up my...my dry cleaning!"

"What?" Jimin's brows knit. "You don't pick up your own– "

"Yes I do," Yunjin defends. "I do it all the time."

"Bullshit, you don't even know where the dry cleaners is."

"Yes I do, anyway – gotta run. You know my order, right?" Yunjin asks as she turns to leave.

"Hold up, are you serious?" Jimin whirls around to follow her. "We'll go after, it's not even a long line."

"Exactly, so you stay and I'll go."

"Yunjin, wait – you can't just leave me here!"

"Don't worry, I'll send a car for you!"

"Yunjin!" Jimin calls out but the girl's already hauling ass to the car. Jimin watches with a puzzled look on her face. Yunjin's been known for her chaotic ways and bouts of spontaneity but that was so weird, even for her.

"Yunjin never was a big fan of me, was she?"

Jimin's shoulders drop upon hearing the sound of that voice. If last night had her feeling defeated, this was the knockout punch to the gut.

Even with her back turned, she knows who that voice belongs to – that goddamn voice haunted her for days, months, fucking years. Jimin wishes she was hearing things, she wishes that her mind was only playing tricks – but she's never been that lucky.

"You have got to be shitting me," Jimin mumbles to herself with eyes shut tight.

She knew she should've stayed in bed. She knew she should've told Yunjin to find someone else to go flower-picking with so she could curl up to Minjeong and catch up on all the sleep she missed out on during the night. Then again, if there's anything she learned last night it's that she has to quit running from her problems and face them. She just didn't think her problems would be making an appearance so soon – and she didn't think it would be so literal.

As Jimin turns, she instantly feels her heart sink in the worst possible way. There's nothing that could've prepared her for this moment, but Jimin still has to ask—

"What are you doing here, Yeji?"
