14. A Kiss

"The only man who deserves you, is the one who thinks he doesn't."

----

As far as Jungkook has seen Violet, she has never been crazy for any guy except Taehyung. After a long time he observed her childish side was back just because of him. She appeared more lively and joyful whenever he was mentioned. Now that phase is over, the old gloomy Violet was back and that definitely wasn't good.

"How can it not be love?!" He wondered but chose to not speak about it forgetting the fact that the feelings weren't mutual, it was one-sided just like people falling for celebrities who'll never get romantically involved with them.

"You won't take any actions about Sierra?" He swiftly changed the topic.

"I'm letting it slide for the last time just because I don't want to hurt Taehyung. I know he loves his sister and can't see her in trouble."

"Still, she crossed the limits-" The woman didn't let him complete his and spoke something that crushed his heart into pieces.

"I'm sorry for destroying your life." She smiled whilst looking at the front and he could see those drops of pearls in the corner of her eyes. This was totally out of topic, but looks like Violet was having a hard time right now remembering the past.

Never in a million years he imagined that Park Violet would apologise to him on her own accord. He now understood how tough it is for her to move on from the past. Even though he argues, fights with her and annoys her at times but he wasn't living in the past. He has moved on from it a long time ago and he wished for her too, to live her life happily without any boundations and loads on her mind and heart from what occurred before.

But no matter what he says, she won't believe that he didn't release the scandal about her, the same way he won't believe that she didn't steal the piano notes and Mrs. Kim's bracelet. He had a lot to say to her and assure her that "No, I'm living a way better life than what it was. You didn't destroy it." But he couldn't. A sharp pain hit his chest and it became practically impossible to communicate when he saw those tears in her eyes.

She was controlling her tears.

She just had an awful heartbreak, definitely she was having a hard time and Jungkook didn't wish for her to be sad.

No matter how much wrath he has for her but that fury subsidies as soon as he sees her in danger. He didn't wish for her to be unhappy about anything anymore. He went numb listening to her, it was as if he wanted to speak a lot but his lips were sealed, his mind was searching for the right words to speak but in the end he went speechless.

Silence was the best remedy as of now.

The Belleza event came to a smooth end yesterday thanks to the two actors and the top model, everything went on well and no wonder, the news was flogging everywhere, of the ramp walk and the two top most actors' breathtaking dance performance. Certainly, the drama's rating went an all time high and the audience were going head over heels for Violet's look and her ultimate, charismatic aura on the ramp.

Jungkook too, was no less, the nation's husband came to be called 'the perfectionist' by his fans. Moreover, their dance segment came out to be the most viewed segment on all social media platforms. Park Violet was being seen in a new light by the audience, she was getting new fans and the haters were decreasing, thanks to Taehyung's influence the malfunction on the stage didn't come out. It remained as an insider information and everyone was made to shut up from speaking it out.

People bombarded their social media platforms commenting thing such as;

"The return of the queen!"

"She's spectacular!"

"They both look so good together! Can't believe they fight on set everyday like the media reports say." Someone commented and surprisingly, out of all comments this one had the most likes and the replies to the comment were even more toxic:

"I heard Park Violet always starts the argument and it delays the shoot."

"Really? Woah! Even though she's glamorous on the ramp... our poor Jungkookie has to suffer."

Violet was reading all those comments while her makeup was getting done for the shoot of the next scene. Reading all those comments, she rolled her eyes and frustratingly threw the tablet on the couch excusing all the staff for sometime, to clear up her head from all the things happening lately. She massaged her temples and took in a deep breath. Yoora observed all this and so, she instantly came towards her and gave her a side hug.

"Don't worry, it'll be-"

"No! It would never be fine!" She yelled, annoyed by all this.

"Yoora, tell me... Am I that bad of an actor? Why don't they look into my skills and focus so much on my past! The past I'm running from!" She threw the things kept on the table in vexation and they broke creating a huge sound. Yoora held from her shoulders and gave her a bone crushing hug, trying to console her.

"Violet, it's alright, we're here with you. You ain't a bad actor instead it's the opposite. They won't care about the past once the drama becomes successful. Remember, these people behind the screen can't define your talent. Actually, nobody can. They never know, unless they walk in your shoes." She patted her back and Violet rested her head on the crook of her shoulder. She rubbed her back and succeeded in calming her down after a few minutes. Soon, they broke the hug and the elder caressed her cheek adoringly like an elder sister and her brows crouched in tension as she touched her.

"Violet, you're burning up! Why didn't you tell me?! You have a fever!" Her eyes widened and soon, she made the younger sit on the nearest chair.

"It's alright Yoora, I'm fine." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly and the elder hit her on the arm, annoyed.

"You have a high fever! You ain't fine!" She screamed.

"We have to shoot the drama's climax scenes today and I can't delay it, don't worry I'm okay." She assured and momentarily, went away not giving her manager a chance to even speak anything. She sure is stubborn and does everything she wants to do.

"In this scene Jina has to walk on the road appearing distressed because Haewon didn't come up for their secret wedding as planned. As for Haewon, he met with a minor accident so he got late and was unable to inform her. Jina waited for him for almost a day and now it's night time and her hopes are finally crushed. Now, Haewon should sprint towards the venue and apologise but Jina isn't ready to listen to anything. He'll cut you off mid way when you're speaking. Here's the kiss scene. Like, Jina, you should appear extremely sad and tears should flow when Haewon kisses you." The director explained everything and the actors listened to everything whilst looking into their scripts, rehearsing the dialogues.

This was a sad scene and the two actors first ever kiss scene in the entire drama. Violet was chill about it as she's aware it's only about work but Jungkook's cheeks flushed as soon as he realised what he has to act like. He isn't aware of his budding feelings with her yet and so, the nation's husband who has french-kissed a bundle of women by now, is getting flustered over a simple kiss scene with her.

Moreover, Violet was wearing a wedding dress, that white wedding dress along with a bouquet of red roses in her hand made her appear the prettiest woman out there. He never knew, Park Violet would appear this lovely in a white wedding gown. The simplicity and gentleness her look carried made a zoo arouse down his gut. A thought crossed his mind;

"Is this how she'll look in her own wedding?!" He shook his head and let go of all the secondary thoughts and came back to earth because at the end of the day, it's all just... an act.

'It's work, nothing more and nothing less than that.'

He consoled himself saying this throughout rehearsal.

In half an hour, it was time to shoot the scene. Throughout the time, he was peeking glances at the woman and then sighing himself and taking in deep breaths, appearing nervous for the first time during the shoot.

"Don't worry, it's not your real wedding." His manager teased observing his actions and the younger again blushed, his cheeks pinkish by now.

"It- it's not like that." He stammered looking everywhere but him and trying his best to change the topic.

"Yeah, yeah, got it. It ain't. I'll pretend to believe in it." He teased again because he was aware of what was going on in his head.

Before the younger could speak anything in his defence, he got called upon for the shoot and so, their conversation got terminated but Hyun didn't forget to mouth him an 'All the best!' which again made him flustered. Nevertheless, Hyun felt happy that finally Jungkook and Violet are not arguing and pulling their hair out of their scalps like they always did. Had this scene got shot a few months back, Hyun was pretty sure the two of them would've buried each other alive. He smiled looking at the two of them.

Before Mr. Hwang could announce "Action!" heavy rains started pouring and everyone started running here and there whilst covering the props and the technical items such as cameras, lights etc. to save them from water. Certainly, the shoot was about to get called off unless Violet requested the director to continue the shoot.

"Mr. Hwang, Jina should appear sad right? What would be a better theme to appear gloomy, other than the rain? I guess it'll be more impactful." She suggested and the director placed his hand over his chin thinking hard. Well, the idea wasn't bad, instead it appeared to be perfect and so Mr. Hwang gave in.

"I guess you're right. Then we'll continue from here." He affirmed, impressed by the actress's insight into the drama.

Jungkook remained silent in all this process. He was closely observing Violet, when he clearly heard her voice it sounded different, it was hoarse, as if it's paining in her throat and she's forcing herself to let out some words. By now, even her eyes were appearing a little puffy than usual. Well, he wasn't wrong, she really was trying hard to just continue the shoot because those comments took a toll on her mind. She wanted to prove them wrong and not delay the shoot anymore.

----

"Action!" The director announced and the cameras started rolling.

It was raining cats and dogs and in that thunderous atmosphere there she was walking- the lonely bride, tears streaming down her face, the bouquet of red roses in her hand drenched due to the rain but still, she walked appearing so gloomy, her eyes drowsy, her lips pale and her eyes reddened due to the tears. The staff were mesmerised by the way she was expressing her emotions as if she was living in the moment- that was the power of the top actress but no one except Jungkook and Yoora, observed that Park Violet wasn't really acting, her health was actually deteriorating and she was shivering in the cold.

Soon, he came up and stood in front of the girl, now crying her heart out and she looked up at him with the most loving yet hateful expression. She was being Jina and he was portraying Haewon, both unaware that somehow their hearts were paining for each other.

"Why did you... you...n-not come? I waited!" She yelled whilst hiccuping and sobbing.

"Jina, I'm sorry please listen to me-" He placed his bandaged hand on her cheek but she harshly jerked it off taking some steps back from the male. He expressed the perfect expression of heartbreak, by her action.

"What's there left to listen to?! I hate you so much Kim Haewon! I hate-" She hit him on his chest with her small fists but he didn't let her complete her sentence and firmly held her wrists.

There was no coming back now, was it?

Momentarily, he pulled her towards himself and claimed her lips. Her eyes widened in surprise as Park Violet didn't think the kiss would be this intense and dominating. It was as if he was pouring all his emotions into that one kiss, the way his lips moved perfectly with her numb ones, arose a butterfly in her stomach. Steadily, she too closed her eyes and gave into the moment and a lone tear left from the corner of her eyes. He placed his hands onto her cheeks and now, Jungkook understood...

She was burning up due to a fever.

He pulled away from the movement and opened his eyes only to see her looking at him. Before he could say anything or the director could announce "cut!" everything went black in front of her eyes and she fainted in the male's arms. Everyone was in aghast looking at what just happened and the director, Mr. Hwang got up from his position. Jungkook's eyes widened in shock and he couldn't understand what to do in a situation like this.

"V-Violet!"

"Op-open your eyes! Don't scare me!" He yelled, anxiously but no movement was registered from her end. She cradled unconscious in his embrace, cold drops of water dripping down from her hair and white dress, the bouquet fell from her hand and her face appeared so pale. Without wasting a minute more, he picked the unconscious girl in his arms and rushed outside the shooting area. Hyun and Yoora worriedly ran behind him.

Everything came to a standstill and Jungkook's heart sank to his stomach, he was that afraid.

POTATO'S NOTE:
Wishing Violet a speedy recovery. My girl went through a lot. T_T
