STOP WITH THE SUBHADRA SLANDER!

I hate the Star Plus, Mahabharata; which I am sure most of you have come to understand pretty much. Even then, I'll repeat it. I hate the SP MB.

For what they did to my Krishnarjun, for what they did to my queen Draupadi, for what they did to my baby, Abhimanyu and more than most what they did to my princess, Subhadra.

I am like a ninety percent sure, the Subhadra slander started because of their frankly deplorable portrayal of her character. A dumb bimbo who is obsessed with Arjuna and somehow gives the appearance that she came in between Arjuna and Draupadi.

Now, I would have dismissed it as a typical serial troupe of turning everything into an ITV drama but the sheer number of people on the internet who have come into my space, in my wattpad books and tumblr posts - these obsessive ArDi fanatics are the most toxic people i've come across in the Mahabharata fandom.

Right next to the Karna simps.

The internet is ripe with their nonsense and I can barely see Instagram nowadays because my algorithm shows their stupid ass edits on my dash. Where every single one show how Draupadi and Arjuna were so heartbroken at Subhadra's marriage to the latter. As if it was just a political machination for the greater good.

To these morons, the ones who have harangued me regarding this, THE FUCKING SERIAL IS NOT A VALID SOURCE!

The Southern recession of BORI does talk about Subhadra holding the reigns of the chariot and how she was supposed to marry Duryodhana but no version of it is present, that has not mentioned that it was Arjuna who wanted to marry her.

Desperately.

On seeing her, Arjuna was struck by the god of love and Krishna noticed the signs that Partha's mind was intently riveted on her.

Arjuna replied, "She is Vasudeva's daughter and Vasudeva's sister. She is beautiful. How can I not be captivated? [Also for the idiots saying, oh the story is told to Subhadra's descendant so it is biased - kindly read the entire book properly. The BORI has numerous mentions of very eloquent ballads of praises of the Kauravas and even Karna. It is definitely not biased. Neither towards the Pandavas and definitely not towards Subhadra. ]

It very candidly says what actually happened. So for the people who clearly cannot differentiate between what was acceptable in that age with regards to what is not in this, even if you want to bash someone for the sake of your peace of mind, criticize Arjuna not Subhadra.

What the hell has Subhadra done?

And it is also very clear that Arjuna was in love with her and even if Krishna might have helped him to abduct her due to his own political reason - that is all an interpolation for it isn't mentioned anywhere.

Also, how difficult is it to understand that ABHIMANYU IS SUBHADRA'S SON! Yes he might have respected and loved Draupadi too, for she would have been his mother as well but for the last fucking time, Subhadra is his birth mother and there cannot be an interpretation where Abhimanyu would have ever loved Draupadi more.

And Subhadra had every right to grieve Abhimanyu's death in whichever way and however long she wants. She was his mother, damnit. I don't care, if she didn't return with the Pandavas to Hastinapura after the war and preferred to go to Dwarka. The woman was separated for thirteen years from her husband and her in law family and if she thought, Dwarka made her feel more at home or she could grieve better there - it is perfectly fine!

That does not prove Draupadi was better than her or anything. (What even is this stupid comparison? Both were equally fab and anyone who thinks otherwise is a thirteen year old or needs a lobotomy.. ughh)

Everyone has different ways to cope with loss. 

The SP MB kept on highlighting Abhimanyu and Draupadi's scenes, so much so that everything about him had become related to her. It was irritating as hell and obviously completely made up.

Where was Abhimanyu's undaunted valor as he fought in the Kurukshetra war? Where was his relationship with his mother and wife and father explored? Where was his relationship with Krishna shown? Even as Arjuna hallucinates him dying in his arms (fucking visceral ngl), Abhimanyu is harping about Draupadi.

Utterly tiring at this point.

This is not a Saas-Bahu Sazish drama happening guys.

It is real life.

Grow the fuck up.

Again, I would like to reiterate for the people in the back, DRAUPADI IS NOT THE MARY SUE OF MAHABHARATA.

I love that woman very much.

But to make the entire epic about her is plain irritating.

SP made the show, Kahani Draupadi Ki and revolved everyone's lives around her and their actions with response to her. It just served to make Draupadi look like a self centred and self righteous preachy woman. She had no vulnerabilities and thus just appeared nearly plastic.

Draupadi in the epic loved the Pandavas very much. Yes, all five of them. And she was very happy with them. It has been mentioned very clearly in the Samvada Parva where she in a very eloquent colloquy tells the same to Krishna's wife, Satyabhama.

I love Arjuna and Draupadi's relationship as much as the next person. How she describes him with such vivacity to Jayadratha and misses him so graphically in Kamakaya when he went to gain the celestial weapons - but - these mind numbingly dumb ArDi fans have RUINED it for me. They have made everything about their relationship into a continuous bash fest of Arjuna's other wives - mainly Subhadra.

I mean, I have had people commenting on my fics, 'why is Draupadi and Subhadra so friendly with one another, ughh they were just cordial.' 

They don't even like if I make the women be nice to each other or support each other.

I mean, what the hell is wrong with girls nowadays? Chauvinism being present in men isn't enough that even women have to possess it now?

Sorry to burst your bubble sweethearts, but hyping up and fangirling over Draupadi and hating on Subhadra or showing her as a vamp or brainless, or less capable than Draupadi isn't feminism.

You are just being immature and juvenile.

And unknowingly misogynistic as fuck.

Ughh... y'all know you can love ArDi without hating on Subhadra right?

And even if you can't, please stay the fuck away from my works and take your toxicity where the sun doesn't shine.
