Chapter 38

MOMENTARILY HOME

38

"Y/n, Good morning! Are you comfortable in your new room."

Senju smiled at you as you entered the dining hall with the other members.

"Hi, good morning, and yeah." You merely smiled as you sat beside her.

Everyone at the dinner table was just talking and eating, peacefully sharing laughs and conversation. You smiled, thinking how similar it was to Bonten yet so different, but you shook your head, trying to forget about them.

You can't help but wonder what they're up to now, after all, it's been more than five days and they're still in silence, you heard no updates or anything, and it's starting to worry you.

They said silence is dangerous.

"I miss this. Although a lot has changed here, as long as the same people are here, it's still the same." Senju smiled as you faced her.

"Yeah, even tho' I wasn't really a part of Brahman, hearing stories from Draken about you all made my anger in crimes subside at least. You made me feel like I was really a part of it. You never left me out." You replied.

"Y/n, how... how was life in Bonten? I mean, how did everything start? How did you get in there? Where's your stepmother? How was your workplace in the nightclub?" Senju can't help but ask these endless questions.

"Don't ask her too much, boss. She might still be in shock after everything that happened." Benkei said.

"Ah, right. I'm sorry-"

"No, it's fine, thank you, and I'll answer them." You cut off.

You sighed before continuing. "I was working in one of Tokyo's famous night club as a waitress, right? But it's all gone and burned now... Literally."

"Huh? What happened?"

"Bonten kidnapped me there while I was working, but before they did, they threatened me first when I went inside their VIP room to serve drinks." You said then just basically telling things that happened between you and each member, of course, the necessary things only.

"You know, Y/n, Bonten is gone now, you're back at your home which is Brahman." Senju said as she brushed your hair. "Brahman is your home."

"Do you remember those times when we were the only ones who went to your college graduation...?" Senju said as you almost teared up remembering it.

It was true that no one was around when you graduated from college but Brahman, including Draken. They were the ones who hung your medals, certificates, and everything else... because your parents were not there. They were there for you when Draken and your stepmother weren't, especially after you woke up from a coma in the hospital.

After you woke up, the first thing that you saw was Draken, and after that, Brahman and your stepmother, and you thought that your life was just starting there, simply because you forgot what happened in the past.

You believed and convinced yourself that you were just a normal college student working on a part-time job after waking up from a coma, at least that's what you think for now.

You're just not ready.

"I know- but- Senju, they're dangerous... What if they find us here? I witnessed every vile act they did..." You said in worry as you looked at Takeomi across the dining table.

"We are still planning about that, but you don't have to worry too much, we are handling everything." Takeomi said.

"It's dangerous?" Senju chuckled. "That's why we planned something for you."

"What is it?"

"Be Brahman's vice leader and be my right-hand man, Y/n."

Everyone's attention turned to you and you expected harsh comments and replies since who would recruit someone who has no fighting experience?

"We need loyalty." Takeomi said with a smile while eating, and the other members agreed.

Senju smiled as your eyes widened. "W-wait... what? I mean, wait I don't know what to feel about this... I'm honored... but Senju I don't know how to fight sorry—" You bitterly admitted.

"That's no problem with that, Wakasa will train you."

You looked at Wakasa as he briefly nodded and just continued eating, and you smiled thinking you can trust him since he's one of your long-time friend along with Senju.

"So, Wakasa, do you agree?" Benkei raised his brows teasingly to him as Wakasa scoffed. "C'mon, bro, we already discussed this."

"Yeah." Wakasa coldly replied.

"He's still stoic as ever." Senju scolded him. "But don't worry Y/n! You'll spend lots of time with him! He's a very good trainer, he trained almost every member here."

Senju said as your gaze darted to Wakasa who was leaning back in his chair while eating, and just talking manly with some of his members and who was smirking every time he catches you staring.

"Really-?" You smiled, but then you remembered your promise to yourself that you wouldn't turn into one of them again, but you blinked it away and furrowed your brows, after all, you've always been defenseless, especially in Bonten, where you always end up in nothing but their arms, and they always take advantage of your weakness, but you just nodded, thinking that your promise on not turning into one of them wouldn't matter, at least for now.

"Why? Anything bothering you?" Senju asked worriedly.

"Oh, nothing, and yeah." You replied, reassuringly.

"Maybe, breaking another promise to myself wouldn't hurt just a bit." Y/n thought as she kept her head low.

Wakasa knocked on Senju's room.

"Come in," Senju said as she puts her phone down and stood up from the bed.

"Senju, boss, when will you tell Y/n?" Wakasa straightforwardly asked as he entered her room which made Senju turn her head to him in surprise.

"Tell her what? The training—?"

"No, the—" Wakasa said, and Senju's eyes widened as she knew what he was talking about.

Senju kept her head low as she shrugged, "Tell her what? Her heinous past? Will it get any better if I tell her, Wakasa? I mean- c'mon... I want Y/n to have what she has right now, I know it sounds selfish, but think about it, the past that she needs to know is already buried in hell, it's called forbidden knowledge for a reason."

"Even Draken hesitated to tell her about the past, Wakasa." She added.

"How about Draken? Huh? Didn't he tell you that you'll be the one guiding her to the future and telling her the past?" Wakasa said which made Senju sigh.

"Boss, you know how high my respect is for you, but please, for the sake of Y/n's sanity and Draken's death." Wakasa said convincingly as he shook his head.

"You're right, I'm not the one deciding, excuse my stupidity for today. I just want the best for Y/n." She felt contemplation rise in her chest after a minute of silence. "Well then, if she really wants to know, I won't be the one telling her."

"Who?"

"Y/n's father."

Senju took out an envelope and handed it to Wakasa which he opened and his eyes widened.

Tokyo Prison Home, XXX

From: Fujio L/n

Hi, Greetings, this is Fujio L/n, Y/n's father. I sent this letter to Senju, however, please do not tell Y/n that I sent her this letter, instead, please bring her to my location, I need to speak with her. please, thank you, I'm ready to face my daughter now.

"Senju... where are we going?" You asked while Senju, Wakasa, and Benkei are inside the car, driving somewhere.

Senju held back her tears while driving and just smiled at you as she answered. "You'll be meeting someone."

"Really? Who?" You asked, but then you already arrived at the destination as the car stopped.

You furrowed your brows in confusion as you stepped out of the car with them while looking up at the building and seeing a prison.

"A prison? What are we doing here?" You asked while walking inside.

Senju handed the envelope letter to the receptionist, and guards led the four of you to a certain white room. While walking through the hallway, you looked to your side and saw inmates inside their cells staring at the four of you, and you frowned your brows as you continued walking, ignorant of your confusion.

You can't help but feel anxious as you entered the room, which appeared to be an interrogation room with a glass pane divider in the middle, a table on both sides, and police guards standing at every corner.

"Let him in." The police said.

You gasped as you saw a man entering the room, handcuffed around his wrists, wearing a light green prison uniform. He's extremely thin with dark circles on his eyes, and he has few similar features as you.

As the police sat him down on the chair, his gaze darted to you, and tears immediately spilled from his eyes.

"Y/n, daughter... how are you...?" Fujio said in a cracked pained voice as his hands reached yours through the glass divider.

"No touching." The police said who was guarding.

"S-sorry... Y/n, how are you...? I-I don't know what to say... It's been years." Your father asked you.

"Sorry, but... who are you?" You asked confusingly.

Silence.

Your father felt his heart crack after hearing it even though he was well aware of why don't you remember him, those hurtful words which he never wanted to hear from his own daughter rang in his ears.

"Oh, what have I done..." He shook his head.

"S-senju... hey what is this? Who is this- I don't understand-"

"I'm your father, Fujio L/n." He said.

You felt a jolt of pain in your head as you heard his name, and your eyes widened as you remember the letter.

"Huh?" You muttered as you felt overwhelmed yet confused.

"This... have you read this... Y/n?" Fujio showed a letter, and it was the same one from the hospital.

Y/n kept quiet, her heart pounding with ache as she looked at her "father" with disbelief and shock.

"In my years of imprisonment, I never expected to tell you about everything." Fujio said.

"Tell her everything, Fujio." Senju sternly said as she gritted her teeth. "We came here for a fucking reason."

Your brows furrowed as you tried to process everything that was going on.

Y/n blinked as she tried to stay focused. Everything seemed to be in shambles, and the fact that she was aware that she had lost her memories but had no knowledge of the past made her feel guilty, wrathful, and overall confused.

"Tell her that past's forbidden knowledge that you've been hiding!" Senju shouted.

"I will..." Fujio whispered as he looked at you with eyes full of guilt.

"It all started when we are working in a church with your mother, and you were only nine years old when it started... then an accident happened when you turned sixteen, which made you lose your memories, Y/n."

"W-where's my mother...? Who is mother?" You asked with air almost leaving your lungs.

Fujio gulped as he fought back a lump in his throat, his heart aching from simply reminiscing memories, and the past that holds everything, it made him tear up in disgust, but what makes him even more guilty is that he's the cause of it.

"The forbidden knowledge that I will now tell after hiding for more than a decade."
