Okay so like. I've seen this quite a bit actually. Why do people post actual BOOKS on Wattpad? They have no permission whatsoever, it probably takes them FOREVER if they're just re-typing it word-for-word, and it's just not their story.

Idk if this is just me. It just kinda rubs me in the wrong direction. I've even seen people bring stories from, say, Archive of Our Own or Fanfiction.net and post it. And even though they say "This doesn't belong to me" it just doesn't seem to cut it for me.

I know I'm usually joking around and stuff, but writing is something I have a strong passion for, and if someone was taking my hard work and effort, and just copy-pasting it somewhere without me knowing, I'd be kind of upset. Though, at this point, my works don't have enough recognition for that to be a problem haha.

So hey. Dear whoever is reading this, please don't take another's heart and soul by taking their works and posting it elsewhere. Because really, when we write, it's like our stories are our children that we have to protect. It's not just a problem artists have. Sure, it's probably more prominent happening to them, but it happens to the best of us out there. Writers are, in a sense, artists too. So please, respect what they write. And if you enjoy it, let them know! I'm sure anyone would be overjoyed to hear that their work made someone happy! Just leave the posting to us. ;)
