Not How I Expected My Saturday To Go

Okay so. I'm tired ahaha. Last night was absolutely crazy.

I walk my neighbor's dogs on the weekend. (My sister walks during the week.) So I called them and was on my way to their house when...

this appears. And at first I thought it was wild so that's why I took the picture from so far away. BUT THEN. This bunny just hops right up to my feet. At first I was scared to touch it cause like. Wild animals. Petting. Doesn't end too well. But I reached out my hand very slowly and it let me pet it.

So I'm sittin' here like. I don't think this bunny is wild. So I call my mom. She says it's most likely wild. I call my sister (who owns a rabbit) and she says "Our neighbors across the street have a bunny. It might be theirs."

So now I'm like. Do I just leave it?? I have to walk dogs! So I go and walk dogs. And I said to myself that if I found that bunny once again on my way home, I would do something about it.

Sure enough. On my way home with my little brother. We spotted it. Just chilling in someone's front yard. So I tell my brother to stay with it, and I sort of shyly knock on some peoples' doors. NO ONE ANSWERS. I swear my neighborhood is weird. So I went to the one neighbor I knew a lot. Our families were good friends. (This lady is a saint I swear) She opens the door, and I apologize that it's kind of late. And she immediately says that it's no problem at all (I love her D':) and I tell her that we've found a bunny. She immediately starts trying to help me. She calls her son, and he's out the door and walking to my brother. Meanwhile she calls some neighbors that she knows might have a bunny. They don't answer so she leaves a message, and I thank her a ton before returning to my brother and Will (my neighbor's son)

And we just sort of hang out there. Watching this bunny. Will calls a couple people and says it's probably best to call the humane society (I think that's the name.) But it would be closed Sunday and Monday. So we needed to figure out a way to keep it until then.

Well. We have a bunny at our house already. I explain the situation to my mom, and she's VERY reluctant. I sort of understood because obviously you don't just pick up animals you find in your neighborhood. But this rabbit acted so domestic that I couldn't just leave it alone. I call my sister again (she was our school dance) and she says it's totally fine for me to use her bunny carrier to try and hold this bunny.

So I grab it, and my mom, who'd been out shopping before this, came with me to look at this thing. We watch it for a little while more. And my mom finally says she would agree to me walking around and knocking from door to door asking people.

After much effort, we get the bunny in the carrier. (It was really scared :() but at this point it's already pretty late. And my neighborhood has lights out pretty early in the night. So there's not really anyone who answers.

So Will turns to me and says, "Why don't we just bring it into my backyard." And I agreed to it.

We ask my little brother to get a few carrots from our bunny's stash (shh she'll never know) and he runs off to do so. I let the bunny out in his backyard, and his mom comes out. I apologized for putting this on her, and she said, "There's nothing you have to apologize for. You're just like me, always apologizing. Your mother sometimes gets on me about that." (She's the SWEETEST LADY)

So my brother comes back with the carrots and lays them on the ground. Will says he'll call if the rabbit is there in the morning. His thought was that if the rabbit was wild, it might be able to burrow under the fence, but if it doesn't, that may be a sign that it's a pet.

We say our goodbyes and walk back home. And I was honestly exhausted. We spent about two hours out there (counting me walking the dogs), and I was honestly about to crash.

The only thing keeping me from doing so was trying to evolve my eevee into Umbreon >_> that kept me up for a while...

ANYWAYS! Long chapter, huh? I don't think I've written anything this long about my life in a while. Sorry if it takes a lot of time to read ahaha. At least Wattpad won't yell at me that my chapter only takes 21 seconds to read.

So I'll talk to you all later. Let's hope I can get good news about my bunny friend. Goodbye~
