Reason Why|H.P.
She's been so quiet. That's the thought he had every day when he sees you walk with your friend. He'd never heard you talk. Harry always imagined what it would be like. He would think of it as sweet as honey and as smooth as a river. Whatever the reason was, he liked to admired you from afar. The way your hair is always in a messy ponytail and your E/C eyes glinted as you gave him a returning glance. "When are you going to convince?" He heard Ron say over Potions. He immediately got his eyes away from you and onto his friend next to him. "Who?" Ron rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his ginger hair. "Oh, you know you I'm bloody talking about." They both turned to you who was smiling as you wrote. Harry's heart skipped a beat as he saw you turn your eyes to him for a split second. "Did you see that? She looked at me."
Ron again rolled his eyes and they both felt a book slam into the back of their heads. "I said work alone. No more speaking. Have I made myself clear?" Harry rubbed his head and so did Ron, groaning as the sting slowly wore off. "Yes, sir." "Then, I suggest you get back to work then." They turned back to the piece of parchment in front of them and continued writing. When class was dismissed, they both gathered their books and walked out the door. They were talking until Harry bumped into a chest. He looked at who it was and saw the familiar gaze of your eyes. "I'm so sorry, Y/N." He looked at you as you froze in place, your hands placed on his chest. It was like that for a long minute until Ron coughed awkwardly. You snapped back to reality and gripped onto the strap your satchel, walking around Harry and away. "What was that?" Harry turned to see where you've gone but he missed you when you turned a corner. He sighed and they both continued walking. "
"Hermione's going to have a know in this." Ron teased as they searched for her. "You better not, Ron. You know her reaction if you do tell her." Ron chuckled and licked his bottom lip. "I know. And that's exactly why I'm going to tell her." Harry curses under his breath as they found Hermione waiting for them in front of History of Magic. "Where have you two been? I've been looking for you everywhere." Ron was about to say something when Harry slammed a hand in front of his mouth. "We were held back for a minute. Dumbledore asked as if we needed his assistance or something." Hermione glared as Harry with suspicion and looked at Ron who nodded hesitantly. "Alright then. I will know eventually if you're lying to me or not."
A few days past
Harry really wanted to know why no one has ever heard your voice. He asked everyone he knew and the people they knew. He was even on his way to go to Draco for some information. "Oi, Potter. What do you want?" Harry glared at Draco and wanted to blast that grin from his face but he kept his cool. "Do you know why Y/N doesn't say anything?" Draco looked surprised that Harry even cared but he shrugged in reply. "Pfft. Maybe she doesn't want to talk. Anyways, why do you want to know? Unless..." He gave Harry a devil face. "You like her, Potter." Harry blushed at the mention for his secret and Draco smiled devilishly. "Oh, this is good! Juicy gossip to keep the school lively yeah?" Harry took his wand out and presses it against his chest, glaring into Draco's cold eyes. "You speak a word about this meet up to anyone, I will make sure you won't see the light of tomorrow." Draco gulped and nodded.
Harry left and found himself walking through the Forbidden Forest. He heard some cawing and knew it didn't lead to anything good. He followed it and saw you gently running a hand on Hippogriff's feathers. He watched as you fed it a ferret, allowing you to hop onto its back and lie down for a little. Even when she's with animals, she's beautiful. He walked over silently but the silence was disturbed when he accidentally stepped on a twig. You turned but didn't see anything so you continued to pet its feathers. Good thing I brought my Invisibility Cloak. He watched as you nudged your forehead into the beats and leave. He walked behind you, taking the cloak off and trailed you. You picked up your pace and began running through the corridors. He chased you and turned a corner when you did. He couldn't see you in front of him until you tapped your feet on the ground. He turned to his side and saw you leaning against the wall, your arms crossed. You have him a look and walked away.
He grabbed your wrist gently and said, "Say something." You looked like you were about to cry but you shook his hand off and ran away to the Hufflepuff common room. He sighed, determined to get you to talk to him for just one time. He wanted to know you better. He wanted to be there for you and talk to you when you're down.
The next day
You were walking through the hallways with your two closest friends until someone grabbed your wrist. "Y/N." You turned around and saw the Boy Who Lived. "Harry, let her go." You looked at your friend, Leila and showed her eyes that wanted some help. "I just want to talk to her." Your other friend, Charlie stared daggers at Harry with his silver eyes. "She doesn't want to talk." Harry ignored the two and pulled you to him but not so close. "Please, Y/N. I want to hear your voice." You showed a face of distress as your fingers tried to push his firm grip off your wrist. "Please." You felt tears coming as you tried to push him away. You shut your eyes tight and tears fell as you struggled to get you of his tight grip. "Y/N! Talk to me! Please!" Leila watched as Charlie thought of his next move. The grip got tighter and it hurt. "Say something for Merlin's sake!" Charlie's hands balled to fists and he shouted, "She can't, Harry!"
Harry stopped and he lets you go, dropping you to the cold stone floor. You grabbed your wrist and tears fell down your cheeks. Leila rushed to help you but you insisted you get up yourself. "She can't talk. Don't you get it? She had a very high fever at a very young age and she lost her vocal chords." Harry looked at what he did to you and instantly regretted it. "Why did none of you tell me that sooner? I could've helped her." Leila wrapped her arm around you protectively and said, "She told us not to. She didn't want to be seen as weak. She's been at it since she was 2." They walked away with you in their arms, leaving Harry regretting. I hurt her. He thought. I hurt her feelings. For the past week, he's been trying to apologise but your friends protected you. That was until that one evening. He was walking around until he saw you. "Y/N, I want to apologize." You turned to him and smiled, ushering over for him to come over. "The thing is, I like you, Y/N. I want to be the one where you can spill your feelings to. I want to love you forever." You smiled and brought his lips closer to your, mere inches apart. He kissed your tender lips and wrapped his arms around your waist. You slowly synchronized, the kiss growing hungrier then softer and he broke it to gain some air. "I guess I'll take that as a I love you too."
