Jealousy is a Fickle Thing|J.S.P
You were in a gorgeous green sweater and your shoes were a grey. You were literally wearing Slytherin. It was a theme you've been wearing because you wanted to test it out. It helps you remind of Albus but you didn't like him, just as a friend. "Y/N, you look great in green." He said once as you two were walking along the shore of Black Lake. You kicked a stone and smiled, your gaze not getting up from the ground. "You think so? I'm think of going red and gold. Gryffindor suits me... I guess?" He looked disapproving but he calmly ran a hand through his brown hair. It spiked up which is quite cute in a way. "Its always so cold. Can't we have a sunny day once in a while?" He wrapped an arm around you and you felt heat radiating from his touch. "Is that better, whiny baby?" You elbowed him gently and laughed, making him laugh too. "Much better, you āssbutt."
After a long walk, you both walk back to the school and went separate ways. You saw the younger Potter boy sitting close to a ledge with a light sketchbook in his hand. You went to him and moved the hood of his hoodie from his head. "I didn't know you liked to draw." He smiled and looked down to the calm waters of the lake below. "Is it a bad thing?" You shook your head and looked onto his book, seeing a beautiful face of a girl smiling. "Why are you sketching me?" "Cause I'm your best friend. Is that a bad thing?" You rolled your eyes at his favourite words and he closed his book shut. "So, what's up with you and Albus? Are you two... Together or something?" You laughed as he jumped off his sitting spot next to you, dusting the back of his pants. "Why would I date Al? Everyone knows he's head over heels for Alice." He shrugged and you both walked to the common room. He couldn't help but stare at your outfit, silently grimacing to himself.
It reminded him of his brother which reminded him of the relationship you and Albus have and its just annoying to him. "Something wrong?" He shook the feeling of at your question and gave you a reassuring smile. "Nothing. I'm fine. You're fine. Everyone's fine." Once you got to the Gryffindor common room, you flopped onto the lounge and sighed. "So warm..." He snickered at your behavior and took the seat opposite yours. You removed your face from the plush pillow and made subtle eye contact with him. "Hey, Sirius." He looked up, you being the only one who called him by his middle name except for his parents when they want to get his attention. "Hm? What?" You smiled and walked over to him, placing your head on his thigh and closing your eyes. "Thanks for being here with me." He blushed and ran his fingers through your H/C hair. "Right back at you." You fell asleep there and he gently pushed you off his lap. He loved the way you looked so calm sleeping and how your hair falls behind you. So beautiful. He told himself of you. Absolutely perfect.
The next few days
Birthday presents were usually his strong suit and he'd like to plan things in advance so he asked Rose for help. "Hey, cous!" He said to her one day, wrapping his arm around her. "You're looking fine today, Rose." Not looking up from her book, she just shook his arm off himself. "What do you want, James? You're not being a kiss āss because you want me to do your homework, are you?" James sighed, knowing that she'll figure out anyways. "Its Y/N's birthday in a month and 5 days and I wanted to get her something nice." Rose gave it a thought and only titled her head up to say, "How about a confession?" James blushed and ran a hand through his brown hair. "Hell no. Its a little to early for that." Rose shrugged and shut her book, smirking in thought. "Give her flowers. If you'd like to know, she likes lilies, roses and daisies." James gave her a hug and thanked her before running off to get you a gift. When it was the holidays, he spent a whole week preparing a whole book of sketches for you.
"James?" The voice of his father called out to him while he was in his room, sketching. Harry poked his head into his son's room and saw him sprawled on his bed, his fingers clutching onto a wooden pencil and delicately sketching. Upon hearing the door open, he hid the sketches under his blanket and folded his arms. "Yea, dad?" Harry narrowed his eyes on his son and said, "Your mother's been calling you down for dinner for the past few minutes." James nodded and brought his bottom lip between his teeth, biting gently on the tender skin. "Oh... I'm coming. Soon. Yea. I'll be there. Don't worry." Harry sighed and sat at the foot of James's bed. "You were doing something in here." James shook his head in denial and twitched his shoulders a little bit. "Was I? I don't remember what." He touched the back of his neck nervously and yawned. "What's for dinner again? I'm starving." Harry gave his son a concern look and stood up, thinking to himself, Kids will be kids. "There's some roast chicken..."
Birthday day
He gulped and quickly placed the flowers on your bed before you came in from class. He also placed a card in the flowers that read; From a secret admirer, happy birthday Y/F/N ♥. He quickly slinged the Invisibility Cloak on himself and his behind a pillar as you came in with your friends. "Oh Merlin, these are beautiful!" He watched as you picked up the bouquet and smell the plants. "Who gave them?" You turned to your friend and shrugged as you took the card and read it aloud. After reading it, you smiled and looked in James's direction like you knew he was there. He held his breath and blushed. "Ooh! A secret admirer!" You conjured up a vase and placed the flowers inside. One down one to go. During some free period, James searched for you everywhere, the sketchbook filled from the first page to the last with pictures of scenes, people and moments you had. He then found you but in a bad moment. He saw his older brother standing over you, pinning you to the wall and towering over you. "Albus..." He heard you say before Albus dipped in to your lips.
He wanted to cast a spell on his brother but he couldn't. He ran away with teary eyes. Stupid Albus. He found a secluded area and sat against the wall, his knees close to his chest. He could see the face of his heartbreak girl plastered in his mind and he couldn't get it out. He could hear the laughter and soft voice of the girl he once loved ringing in his ear and he couldn't make it stop. The voice called out to him, almost seeming real. And it was. "James!" He heard running footsteps nearing him and stop once they reached him. "What are you doing here?" He said coldly, wiping his tears with the back of his sleeve. "Shouldn't you be snogging my brother?" You blushed as he tilted his head up and his piercing blue eyes were red and puffy from the crying. Without hesitation, you crashed your lips onto his, and took his by surprise. When you separated, you sat on the ground opposite him with your head leaned into your palm.
"Your brother is so stupid, James." It almost came out ad a chuckle and you sniffed, clearing your throat a little. "He kissed me. I don't even like that bītch." James blushed and handed you the book which you gently take into your hands. "Happy birthday, Y/F/N." He quoted from the card. You opened the book and admired the carefully drawn sketches. "These are amazing." You held it close to your heart and smiled. "So, you don't like Al?" You almost wanted to shove the sentence you said a while ago down his throat but you kept calm. "I love you, idiot." He immediately leaned his lips into yours, hungrily kissing you as you tried to sync along. It became gentler one you did and you placed your hand on his cheek. He smiled into the kiss and parted. "I love you too."
