Famous To All, Normal To Me|C.D
It was a calm day, the clouds only allowing a little sunlight through and there was a gentle breeze that blew your hair a little. Cedric was walked close behind you, pushing past students who tried to talk to him. He curiously followed you to the Black Lake where you sat at your usual reading spot. He watched your brown satchel being placed down next to you. He watched your gleaming E/C eyes searched through the bag, your fingers delicately gripping the spine of a new story. He saw you get so immersed in your stories you didn't notice him walk towards you. His sapphire eyes admired you and he held a dashing smile that made all the girls swoon. "Hello, Cedric." He stopped walking, feeling his heart skip a beat when your smooth voice acknowledged his presence. "Uh... Hi." You didn't look up when he sat down next to you, looking of to the lake. "Why have you followed me? Do you want anything?"
He brought his bottom lip into his teeth and let them go, his translucent skin seemed like it was glowing. "I wasn't following you... I was just coincidentally going the same way." You let out a small chuckle and he blushed as a smile crept to your face, shining proudly. "I know when you're coincidentally going the same way and when you're following me." He chuckled nervously and looked over in the yellowed pages of your book. "What are you reading?" You showed him the leather cover with the words engraved Romeo and Juliet. "Is it a muggle book? Because it doesn't look familiar." You nodded and continued reading, the silence falling between you two. "May I?" You looked at him and noticed him gripping onto a book inside your satchel. After a few hours of plain reading, he spoke softly, not looking up from the interesting story. "You know, you're the only girl that doesn't squeal at the mere sight of me."
Your eyes glinted in a way he liked and you looked up from your book. "Is that a bad thing?" He flushed and bit his lip. "No! Don't take it the wrong way. I like having fans but... I don't like being adored all the time." You smiled and looked at him with your soft E/C eyes. "Well, I guess that makes me special." You breathed in and smiled. "Y/N. My name's Y/N Black. If you're wondering." He didn't want to say it but it was at the tip of his tongue. "I know." You made a surprised look with a surprised smile, pursing your lips. "Oh, so you stalk me. Great." He blushed brightly and his sapphire eyes darted around to look for a solution. "Wait! I don't! I just got an anonymous tip from someone. Someone told me! I don't stalk you." You laughed at his flustering and tucked your book into your satchel. "Well, I have to go. Good luck for that tournament, champion." You stood up, dusted your robes and skirt and walked away once you grabbed the book from Cedric. Once you were gone, he looked out onto the Black Lake, its waters calm until a breeze blew, the surface rippling. "I think I just fell in love." He said to himself. "With the most amazing girl I've seen."
In the second tournament
He saw you. You were floating along with Hermione, Ron and a young foreign girl. He closed up on you and made sure it was you, his hands examining your face. Once he confirmed your identity, he hugged you, he didn't know why, he just did. He blasted the chain and pulled you up to the surface, earning first place in the tournament. You spluttered and coughed and saw Cedric holding you out for the water. "Cedric? Holy... Thank you! I thought I was going to die!" He pulled you up and they handed you both a towel, wrapping it around your wet body. "Y/N..." He mumbled inaudible. You sat on the ground and watched as Hermione popped up with Viktor in her arms. "Where's Harry? Why hasn't he showed up yet?" He could see the worry on your face which made him a little jealous. As the clock neared, Ron and the girl popped out but no sign of the champion himself. Then, just as the clock ended, he immerged from the depths and swam to shore. "Harry!" You hauled him up and gave him a worrying hug, Cedric watching in the background.
"Y/N, I saw Cedric save you. I wanted to go for you but then, there was Ron and that other girl." You released him from the hug and kissed his forehead. "You scared me for a second there." When the tournament ended, you and Cedric walked together to the boys and girls locker room. "So, what's up with you and Harry?" You saw saw his face clouded with burning jealousy but you just laughed. "Cedric, are you jealous?" He blushed with embarrassment and cleared it up. "Pfft, what? No. I'm just curious." You just laughed and wiped your wet cheeks. "Um... He's my god brother. I know, weird. I just figured last year. When my dad broke out of jail." Cedric's heart fluttered with relief and sighed. "Oh, cool. I was worried for a second there. Like you guys were together or something." You laughed and cupped his soft cheek with your hand. "You thought wrong, pal."
Yule Ball
He didn't ask you. You didn't seem to care or at least he thought so. He saw you dancing in Harry's arms, smiling broadly. He thought he could never make you as happy as anyone else. Cedric noticed the light hitting your face, brightening every small details to your perfections and your flaws. He loved it. He loved you. He saw your body fitting perfectly into your dress, the fabric waving as you danced. "Cedric, are you OK?" He turned to his date, Cho and nodded hesitantly. He wished he could take Harry's place.
Final tournament
He should probably confess to you right now. "Cedric, I don't want you to die." He heard you say as your vision drifted off into the Black Lake. "I don't want me to die either." He looked at you and mustered all of his courage to say it or give the parchment he had in his hands for you. "Y/N, there's something I've been meaning to say to you since we've met." You turned to him and your E/C eyes startled him but in a goof way. "I... Like..." He then realised he had to go for the tournament. "What is it, Ced? Come on, you can tell me." He stood up and left without saying a word, regretting his every step away from you. He reached the maze and went in. You rushed to the maze and saw that they already disappeared into the maze. It felt like hours until you saw Harry appear. You immediately went down to see them. You looked to see Harry with Cedric but he was barely moving. "Harry?" You neared Cedric and saw the life drained out of him, his cold dead stare looking into the sky.
By the time they realised it, you and Cedric's father were already on the ground weeping. You wept where his heart should have beat and your hands balled into fists. "Please... Wake up... Ced..." You looked at his still face you once saw everyday and into the sapphire blue eyes you once looked into. With a shaking hand, you closed his eyes and with quivering lips, you kissed his cold forehead. "You're at peace now, Cedric." You said against the cold skin. Your hand grazed over his pocket and felt a parchment in it. You pulled it out and unfolded it, reading it silently. Your eyes wetted the paper as you did.
Dear Y/F/N,
If you're reading this, that means I'm in the maze already. Y/N, you're the only person that made me feel normal. Your nose always in your books, your eyes always admiring everything around you and your gentle touch when you caress my cheek. I thought to myself, "How can I end up with the most extraordinary person in this school?" You were the light in my darkest days and your witty jokes made me laugh harder than anyone else's. Just so you know, stop doubting yourself. You're amazing in your own freaky way. Though some people say other wise, believe in what you do. I couldn't get over the beauty of you everyday when we are together. You're almost fictional. And so to cut this short, Y/F/N, I love you. Forever. And I hope you feel the same way
Love,
Cedric Diggory
