Depression|T.R.
The loner, the awkward Slytherin, the shy girl, the one that gets bullied more than should be. Those were what they called you in front of your face but what they said behind you, those were far worse. You didn't want to know. But, in the darkness of depression, there was a very tiny glimmer of hope and that glimmer is named Tom Marvolo Riddle. He was your friend, your only friend, who stood up for you, who cared, who was there. He was your friend since 2nd year but slowly towards 5th, he started to drift away. You two became more distant and it made you sad. "Look at her." You heard whispers as you walked through the corridors. "A Slytherin? She'd do better if she was in Hufflepuff." You heard whispers of taunt and snickers of tease over the students. "Did you hear that she stole from a professor?" That hurt you, you never dared to touch anything from any professor. "She's so pathetic." Every word hung to you like a chain, dragging you down and your self esteem shredded to pieces.
Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, someone bumped into you. Your books fell and your balance was lost, making you fall down too. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." A sarcastic tone lacing the voice. You almost teared up as you picked up the books one by one. "Do you need any help?" You looked up and saw the brown haired guy who was your friend. "I'm fine..." He didn't listen and helped you anyways, your hands grazing the books and picking them up. "You must be a reader." You tried to avoid eye contact with him but he kept staring. He didn't know why, he just loved to see your hair swaying gently and your cheeks rosy. You both stood up and dusted your robes. "Here you go." He handed you the books he collected. "Ah... Thanks." That's when you looked up at him. He saw those E/C eyes he'd forgotten and those soft lips he longed to kiss.
"You're Y/F/N, aren't you?" You nodded and glanced at the other students who kept staring and whispering. "I... Need to to go to class." You said, pushing past him and straight to History of Magic. He just stared at you as you ran away from him, watching as you didn't hesitate to look back. I remember her. She was the one who accidentally set Potions on fire. Tom smiled to himself and tucked his hands in his pockets, walking to the library. She's matured now. She's still smart as always but... Tom stopped his thought right there, not daring to continue but he wanted to say it. He wanted to tell the world what he thought. She's more beautiful than I remember.
A few days later
You were in the library, silently studying for a quiz coming up and minding your own business. Just then, someone slammed your book shut and someone else took your wand. "Hey hey, Pyro girl." The nickname you were given by three people that bullied you all the time. "What do you want, Kenton?" He smiled and ruffled your hair roughly, violently tugging when he was done. "We just want to take something from you. Like... This pretty little necklace." You felt the necklace slip over your head and into his hands. "Hey! Give that back!" You stood up and was now the monkey between the three 7th years. They laughed in amusement at the sight of your pleads and attempts. "What's the matter, Y/N? You want your necklace back?" Anger and annoyance boiled inside you but there was nothing you could do. "Crucio." You didn't cast it because you wand was taken. You was one of them crouch to the ground, screaming, "Make it stop!" Just then, the other two were blasted away, dropping your necklace which was thankfully caught.
It flew around your neck and your wand appeared between your fingers. "Now, if you bully my friend again, you filthy pure blood, I will personally arrange your funeral." They fled and you saw him again, holding his hand out for you to grab. You hesitantly took it and he pulled you up so close, you chests were touching. "Are you hurt?" You shook your head and slid your wand in your pocket. "Are you sure?" His hand slid your sleeve down to your elbow, revealing the cuts you did to yourself. They brandished you like a tattoo, going down from your wrist to your elbow. Some were old like 5 months old, some were fresh, blood seeping through them. The other arm was the same but it held the word, useless, scratched on it surrounded by more cuts. "You conflict self harm. Its not good." You eyes watered, finally seeing someone who cared. "I..." Hot tears wetted your cheeks as he pulled you in for a hug. "I... I did this to myself, Tom. I was alone. Scared. Depressed."
His hand traveled through your hair as you hugged him back. He felt his shoulder wet with tears as he stood above you. "L/N, this isn't right. You can't do this to yourself." You felt a pang go through your heart, the pain stings a lot. "Riddle, you are cared for me. I admire it but..." You hesitated. "But, you also left me be. Why? Were you ashamed of me? Was I not good enough for you?" Tom looked into your eyes with a heavy heart. "No. I don't. I came more distant because... You..." He didn't say anything after and he felt your arms leaving his body. "I better go. You wouldn't want to be friends with a pathetic useless person like me." You left him standing there as you exited the library. He watched as the girl he loved leave him behind. Tom didn't know what to do but one thing's for sure, he needed to go after you. He searched you everywhere, the common room, the dorms, the classes, the great hall, the principal's office, the courtyard. He even went back to the library just to be sure. He almost wanted to gave up his search until he heard crying coming from somewhere. He followed it and found you standing near the edge of the tower, looking down on Hogsmeade. "Y/N, step away from the ledge." You turned around and gave him your best smile. "Tom, nobody would care if I died. My parents are always too busy anyways." Tom began to walk over to you, careful not to make you jump. "What will happen to me?" His tears couldn't be contain anymore, letting them wash his pale cheeks.
"You would live your life. Mine ends here." He was just a few feet away from you and you turned back to see the dark night sky. "Beautiful, isn't it? A world with so many people but only a few that actually cares for you." Tom then walked towards you, slowly closing the gap between you and him. "Don't you want to see the world? I'll take you anywhere you want. Just, don't do this." Your smile disappeared as he finally got to a grip on your hand. He pulled you away, making both of you fall backwards onto the cold stone. "Home." You said out of the blue. "What?" You looked at him with teary eyes. "I want to go somewhere I can call home." He cried with you, taking you in for a hug and his tears wetted your robes as yours did to his. "I love you too much to let you go, Y/N." Your foreheads touched and you breathed in and out, looking into his beautiful eyes. "You do?" You managed to say before his lips came crashing down on yours. You were surprised at first but your eyes fluttered close, missing him back. He passionately kissed you and his eyebrows furrowed. His hand held the back of your head and your fingers got tangled in his brown locks. You parted and he smiled, sniffing. "I love you too, Riddle."
