"Y/N!" The troublemaker hurried beside you where you were peacefully walking with a book in your hands. "Yes?" Your fingers curled tighter on  your book and blushed when he placed his arm around your shoulders. "So, I was thinking of heading over to Diagon Alley." He was too confident for your taste but something about him makes butterflies play trumpets in your stomach. "Uh huh..." "I was just thinking 'bout going around and I wanted you to tag along." You looked to his face and saw him glowing with hope. "No." His smile dropped and he was baffled at the amount of bluntness in your sentence. "I said no." He looked like he was about to break down but he breathed in and out repeatedly. "Why?" You bit your lip and sighed. "I'm not capable of complex emotions. At least that's what my doctor say." He was heartbroken but sucked his bruised heart in. "Oh... That's fine." Your face was emotionless when you walked away.

"That was cold." He turned to his left and saw his cousin, Fred with his arms crossed over his chest. "Shut up, Freddy. I tried." Fred shrugged and they walked to their next class. "Why does she have to he so cold?" Unfortunately, their conversation was overheard by Lily, younger sister to James. "Are you guys talking about Y/N?" They jumped when she suddenly appeared in their conversation. "Yeah... I mean no!" She giggled and nudged her brother's arm. "You've been all over her lately. What happened to Alice?" He froze and shook his head. "I lost interest. Longbottom was nice and all but Y/N just has something that I can't figure out." Lily smiled and a thought came to mind. "I wonder if you could make her smile." James lifted an eyebrow and Fred knew what she was going with and went along. "Yeah." Fred continued. "She never smiles. Like that old Slytherin headmaster, Snape." James couldn't believe his ears.

"No way. Everyone smiles." Lily and Fred walked away with a sly grin on their face, leaving James thinking. "I'll show them." He told himself. "I will make that girl smile."

After days of planning

You were walking down the hallway with the same blank face, minding your own business until you saw a group of people gathering around a wall. They were really admiring something in the wall but you walked past, not wanting to get involved. "Y/N, right?" You turned around and saw a Hufflepuff girl walking to you and pulling you over to the wall. You looked at it and tilted your head to the side, biting your lip. "I can't believe James did this for you. That's so sweet." It was a mural with words that read, Y/N, smile more -James. The students just gathered around you and asked a bunch of uncomfortable questions. "Why'd this for you?" "James is such a romantic." "You guys must love each other." Your breathing quickened and you looked around for exits but they pinned you to a wall. "Move aside!" You blurry vision focused on a brown haired person who came over to you and pulled you away. "James..."

"Yeah?" He replied when you two were somewhere secluded. "You little bītch!" He was taking aback from your exclaim and his mouth twitched to a smile. "What? I'd thought you'd be OK with this." You pushed yourself away from his grip and gathered yourself together. "I'm not! What's in Merlin's name is wrong with you?!" He kept silent for once in his life. "I was just fine with being a nobody until you did that!" Your eyes started to tear and he didn't know why. "Just... Get out of my life." You walked away while wiping your cheek with the back of your sleeve. What the hell did you do, James? Albus would say if he was here now. He walked away and he knew that he blew it.

Days later that

People spread the news of you and James being a "thing" as quick as a forest fire. They called it (Insert Ship Name) and you felt so embarrassed of it. You never liked James like that but recently he's been in your mind more than everything else. This disrupted your studies and your dreams. It was the same for James, the only thing on his mind was your face. "Go talk to her." He sighed and sulked as Fred tried to console him. "Hey!" A bubbly voice appeared and stopped when she saw her cousin sulking. "Sup, Roxanne." She knocked his head with her hand gently and rolled his eyes. "What's wrong with James?" "He's sulking over the thing with Y/N." Roxanne's shook her head and sat with them. "Just go talk to her." James got up and went to clear his mind. He ended up in a group of fan girls who shipped (Insert Ship Name) hard. He managed to escape them and saw you from a distance near the Black Lake.

In your hand, a quill and a piece of parchment and sleeping on your lap was your Jack Russell Terrier, Axolotl. You were glancing from a textbook and parchment as if you were taking notes. He admired you from behind a pillar, catching your every detail. If I'd ever even get a chance with her, he thought. Its gonna be one sided cause she hates me now. He thought you could read minds because you looked behind you and almost caught James staring. That's when Axolotl started barking towards James and he froze when you stood up. "James. Sirius. Potter. Get the hell out of there or else." He admitted defeat and walked out with his hands in the air, his eyes catching the familiar blank face you had. "Sorry. Sorry. I was jus-" "Save it." He was taken aback as you called your dog to you and walked over to him until your faces were close hut not so close. "If you don't need anything, I suggest you leave." He wasn't going to give up that easily.

His hands cupped on your cheek and pulled you in, kissing them. He loved your lips, the soft texture and the taste of Butterbeer that hung on it. He shut his eyes tight until his eyebrows furrowed. Your eyes were wide but you didn't do anything because you felt your heart quicken. He pulled away, hands still on your cheek and looked into your eyes. Realization hit him like a rock. "Sorry! I didn't know what came over me." You pushed yourself on him to kiss him and ended up falling onto the grass, you being on top of him. He was also surprised but he happily kissed back, smirking against your lips. You pulled back and sat up so he could, your legs on either side of him. "I... Didn't know you felt that way,  Y/N." You blushed and placed your head in his chest and he started to wrap his arms around you.

"Can you smile for me? Please?" You pursed your lips and looked to him. You shook your head and he sighed until he heard you laugh adorably. "What?" You continued to laugh and he joined in, happy that the most beautiful smile finally appeared on your face.
