Drarry vs Starco~ Starco Win

A/N: This chapter is rather long, because I didn't want things to be rushed. I wanted things to make sense as well as little details that would add to the story. I hope you like it!

Harry and Draco finally got together in 7th year. After too many awkward moments, and much encouragement from friends (particularly Star and Hermione), they finally became an item. Ron took some time to get used to the idea of Harry and Draco being at each others throats in a very different way, but eventually he came round.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Harry ran down the hall, narrowly avoiding colliding into a pair of first years. Ever since Draco had asked him out he found himself in a complete daze. He sped down another corridor, before coming to a sliding halt in front of an arch leading to the circle of stones atop the hill leading down to Hagrid's hut.

He stopped to catch his breath, only to run down the steps as he saw Draco waiting for him.

"H-h-hi...I'm..sorry...for being..so late!" He gasped, breathing heavily.
"L-lost tra-" Draco had taken hold of his face and was tilting it towards him.

"Saint Potter doesn't have me on his mind?" Somehow he brought his face closer to the smaller boy's. He gave a devilish grin before adding "Oh we can't have that."

Harry melted into the kiss that followed, happy that Draco wasn't mad at him. He was still out of breath but he didn't care, it was for another reason now.

When they both broke away from each other, they sat on one of the rocks. It was a sunny Saturday morning and then intended to make the most of the good weather. For most of the week it had been gloomy, and rained several times.

Harry settled down onto the rock, and Draco put his head in his lap. For a few moments they enjoyed each other's company in silence.

"So are we actually going to do anything today?" Harry asked, staring at Draco.

"Is my company not enough for you?" Draco said with closed eyes, frowning. Harry laughed at this.

"Well of course, but-"

"Well then it's settled."

"I just thought-"

"Oh very well then. I suppose we can go to Hogsmeade. It's the first visit of the year today."

"I thought it was tomorrow..."

"Originally yes, but they moved it to today because of the change in weather. It should have been on the noticeboard in your common room."

"Oh. I didn't see it. I was in a rush..because well yeah...you can sort of guess why." Draco smiled.

"We had better set off soon. We don't want to be late. Especially since that already happened once this morning."

"Hey! But yeah i guess so..."

"But we don't have to go just yet. Unless you want to. I don't mind personally. But as we're going together, a time should be decided."

"...t-together?"

"Well yes I didn't say 'we' and mean me, myself and I."

Harry looked shocked at this. After a short pause he smiled smugly, knowing what he was about to say was going to spark a reaction.

"So its like a date?"

Draco opened his eyes, a look of shock covering his blushing face.

Harry laughed, throwing his head back as Draco sat up, looking at him. Harry looked at him, before once again laughing because Draco had the same expression of shock as before.

"Is that a yes or no?"

Draco opened and closed his mouth, several times, much like a fish.

Then suddenly he didn't look so confused. He smiled a knowing smile.

He grabbed Harry's face and pulled him into a kiss.

Eventually he pulled away, leaving a heavily blushing Harry staring at him. Now it was his turn to laugh.

"I-I...ugh..yeah..." Draco got up and held out his hand to help Harry up.

"Well what are you waiting for? Let's go!" Harry smiled and took his hand. He didn't let it go as they walked on.

After a while of comfortable silence, Draco shook his head and muttered "I can't believe it...Harry Potter asking me on a date. Tch it should be the other way around." He received a chuckle in return.

Draco still couldn't quite believe what had been happening since he asked Harry out. In fact even beforehand he couldn't quite tell what had been going on.

He felt the very same as they walked into Hogsmeade, still holding hands. But as he began to pass the first few shops he let go of Harry's hand. This was because he was worried about what could be said about the two of them being together. The thought of the types of rumours of harsh words that could pass around made him feel anxious. Especially if it hurt Harry.

When Harry looked confusedly at him when his hand dropped to his side, Draco managed to pass it off as pointing at something in a shop window. Harry still felt it was a little strange, but brushed it off.

However, he did expect for Draco to reach for his hand. Draco did not do so. He tried reaching for Draco's hand, but Draco had moved towards another shop.

They visited a few shops, buying a few school supplies and sweets, before heading to the Three Broomsticks. Going around the shops had taken longer than they thought, since as time went on more students came because of the good weather and the fact that it was the first visit of the year. Lines became longer than expected.

But they enjoyed it all the same.

Harry kept trying to steal kisses each time they passed each other in doorways, but Draco always avoided them with a classic smirk.

Now as they entered the Three Broomsticks they were welcomed with a wave of warmth. It had become a little chilly, with a slight cold breeze around. Autumn was just around the corner.

So, naturally the pub was fairly full. There were the local regulars, as well as a few students.

Harry caught sight of Ron and Hermione, among with Neville, Seamus, Dean and Ginny. They were all around one table, several empty glasses in front of them. Some still had a little bit of foam at the bottom, showing that they had been enjoying some Butterbeer.

He waved to them quickly, before turning back to Draco. They found a table together, towards the back of the pub.

There it was less crowded, which made Draco feel a little less anxious. Nevertheless he couldn't help glancing around when they sat down together.

"So what do you want to drink?" Harry asked.

"I'm in the mood for a Firewhisky. Ever had Firewhisky Potter?"

Harry cast his mind back to when he last had the famous drink. It had been when celebrating the birth of Teddy... Then he remembered several painful things at once.

"Umm yes but not at exactly the best times..."

"What do you mean?" Draco noticed a change had come over Harry.

"Let's just say the memories aren't the brightest. I'm not saying i was an alcoholic or anything like that it's just when I have had it it doesn't remind me of you know..happy things..." He trailed off.

Draco instantly felt bad.

"Oh I'm sorry-"

"No it's alright!" Harry said quickly. He received a disbelieving look in return. "No really it's fine! So I'll go an order the drinks." It was obvious he had changed the subject, but to his relief Draco didn't press him further.

When Harry returned with his Butterbeer and Firewhiskey the mood became lighter again.

"You know that waiters come to tables here and they bring you the drinks you order, right?" Draco asked.

"Yeah I do but I didn't see any so I decided to get straight from the bar. Less of a wait. When I'm in a large group we usually order to a waiter."

"Ah".

After that they talked about many small things like school work and friends. They ordered more drinks and talked even more between sips.

After that they headed back to the castle. Most of the students that has been in the pub when they entered were no longer there, even the ones who has just came in. This was because dinner would be soon, so the two decided to return at once. Despite the drinks they were both hungry.

"So will we meet after dinner?" Harry asked as they reached the castle.

"Sadly that is unlikely I have an essay to finish tonight. We can meet tomorrow sometime."

"Aw." Harry pouted.

"Don't think you're cuteness will stop me doing my homework. We have all day tomorrow."

"You're worse than Hermione..." Harry muttered before adding, "What time tomorrow? I promise I won't be late this time."

"Mmhmm. How about a little after breakfast? Just after 10am? If you're awake then..."

"Better make it 11."

Draco laughed at this.

"Ok then. That definitely gives me enough time to finish my essay if I need to." He then began to walk away, heading to his common room.

Harry smiled and shook his head before doing the same.

The next morning Draco began to head to the Great Hall earlier than normal. He had been working on his essay till late in the night and still hadn't finished.

But to his surprise, despite it being just gone 7:30am he saw Star sitting in a windowsill, appearing to be waiting for him as he turned a corner from his common room.

At the start of the year he had gone to her about liking Harry and she had been part of persuading him to finally ask Harry out later on. Since then the two had become firm friends, often meeting in the mornings to walk to breakfast together.

She saw him approaching and gave him her usual frantic wave she always greeted people with.

Though he wouldn't dare admit it outloud, he always found it cute.

"Oh hey. I didn't expect to see you this early." Draco greeted.

"I was badly craving hot chocolate when I woke up. But I can't get any until 7:30."

She got up off the windowsill and stood in front of him.

Draco had gotten used to how she talked so wasn't surprised when she didn't explain why she was where she was.

Instead he asked "Why 7:30?" .

"An hour before breakfast starts you can get drinks or small things. I often come and get a morning hot chocolate."

"It's around 7:30 now."

"Yay!" Star perked up and clapped her hands. Draco laughed at this.

"Well then let's go."

They soon reached the Great Hall in comfortable silence. The tables were empty of foodand drink, except from a plate of biscuits next a couple of Ravenclaw seventh years. Apart from them there were no other students.

No teachers were at the Head Table either.

They sat down at a table together, not bothered about which house it belonged to because there were so little people.

Draco looked around confusedly. He hadn't been to the Great Hall outside of meal times, apart from passing through it to classes.

Star noticed this and reminded him that breakfast would start in an hour, since breakfast started and ended later on weekends and holidays.

"Ah...I knew it ended later but I thought it started at the normal time..." He muttered thoghtfully.

"8:30-10:30"

"Oh." He had began to feel hungry, especially since he hadn't had not at dinner because he had wanted to start his essay.

Now he had to wait an hour to eat.

He frowned and rested his head on his folded arms. Star cocked her head to the side, and flashed him a sympathetic smile.

Then she flicked her wand, and a piece of paper appeared in the air in front of her. Draco looked up in interest.

She flicked her wand once again and the paper disappeared into the table.

"What was the paper for?"

"That's how you order."

A few moments later two mugs popped up from the table, as if alive. Draco raised his eyebrows in surprise, but made no comment.

One mug was pushed towards him, steam rising from it. He lifted his head and he could smell chocolate.

Star was already taking a sip from her mug, but she was looking at him. Then she put the mug on the table, wiped the sides and let Gadzooks take a drink.

The little dragon had been riding on her shoulder on the walk to the Great Hall and sat down on the table when they had arrived. It immediately went to the mug and started taking several gulps.

Gadzooks even began to tip the mug, despite it being as large as she was, to drink more. She began drinking much faster. Star quickly realised this and snatched the mug away.

She looked inside it and frowned at the dragon. Gadzooks looked back at her guiltily. The mug was completely empty. She pushed it away from her.

When Draco saw the mug he snorted with laughter, almost choking on his drink.

Star then frowned at him, but not for long. After ordering herself another drink they decided to sit outside somewhere, since the weather was fair.

They talked until breakfast was due to start. When that time came Draco headed to the Great Hall and after breakfast he finished his essay.

The following morning they met up again, but at the usual time of 8am.

"Harry's still mad at you," was the first thing Star said to him.

"Oh no." Draco had already had their arguement on his mind all of the previous evening, and had woken to the feeling of despair.

Luckily he didn't have to face Harry in the morning because he usually finished when Harry just arrived.

"So, if I may ask, why is Harry angry with you?"

"I'm surprised you don't know..."

"Hermione told me that apparently he stormed into the common room in a seething rage, and when Ron went to check on him before dinner all he got for an answer was 'i'm not to going to dinner'."

"Oh..."

They entered the Great Hall and sat down at their usual place at the end of the far-left table.

Breakfast had only just started, so there were very little people. No one was bothered about house tables, so they didn't feel out of place sitting at the same table as each other.

After taking a few bites of toast, Draco finally spoke again.

"So I'm guessing that you know Harry and I met up yesterday?"

Star nodded, and Gadzooks had sat herself facing him directly at the mention of Harry, staring at him with wide eyes.

"Well we...got into an arguement." At this Gadzooks snorted and growled something. Star looked like she agreed. Draco asked what the dragon said.

"She says 'really?'" Her tone was full of sarcasm.

"Ok so you can't listen," Draco said to Gadzooks immediately.

"No, you speak to me and the dragon too mate."

"Fine," he said with a smile.

"So how did this arguement start?"

"Well we decided to sit down by the lake, because it was surprisingly warm for this time of year. Eventhough there were several students around he ugh...leaned in to you know..kiss me."

Star smiled a little at his awkwardness. "And I avoided it because we were in view of many people...and he got angry with me. He asked me why I didn't let him, you know, kiss me, and he said that I had done it all day yesterday when we out at Hogsmeade."

"Mmm," Star prompted him.

"He also said how I kiss him when it's just us two meeting up but didn't even hold his hand when we went out on a date yesterday."

Gadzooks squeaked in surprise and looked at Star. Neither she nor Star knew that Harry and Draco had gone on their first date on Saturday.

Star quickly explained that they didn't know that it they had been on their first date. Draco blushed a little.

"Well anyway, carry on."

"Right so I told him that the reason I didn't let him kiss me then and now is the same reason I didn't hold his hand. I said that the reason was very simple: I didn't want people to see us together, as a couple."

Draco expected some kind of reaction to this, but Star offered none, so he continued.

She had kept her usual emotionless face throughout. Draco didn't know if that was good or bad.

"He immediately said 'because Draco Malfoy can't let something like his boyfriend ruin his image' so I realised he got the wrong idea. I started to explain but he interrupted me. I kept trying to but he kept interrupting so I also got annoyed."

"Understandable."

"So I said 'well maybe if you stopped interrupting me with your own manipulation of my words then I can explain what I actually mean' Then he exclaimed that it was "clear what I meant" and that there was "nothing to explain". At this point I was quite annoyed with how he just assumed he knew what I meant. So I said 'Well actually you have just taken it upon yourself to think that you know what I mean and that's it when in actual fact Potter I meant very differently. Maybe if you listened to me instead of focussing on what you think things could resolve. But instead you stick to whatever it is you think I am saying. Go ahead and go with your idea it's obviously correct and ignore the very person trying to explain to you. At that he stormed off."

Throughout the time he had been talking he could feel his anger rising, but soon on top of that was an even greater feeling of despair.

"No need to look so down about this. Yes Harry is still mad at the moment but he will come to you at some point to calm things down. He is likely to come soon. He will want an explanation, he won't apologise straight away," Star said calmly.

"Stupid Gryffindor stubbornness," Draco muttered.

"But it's part of what you fell in love with him."

Draco stopped himself from answering immediately to look at her in shock. Then he admitted defeat.

"Yes," he said to the table.

"And you've been together for almost a month now. I don't think a few harsh words will bring it down. Anyway, I must depart. So, farewell."

She got up from the bench, and gave her usual goodbye salute as she walked away. Gadzooks flew next to her.

Draco wouldn't admit it outloud but he found this cute aswell.

Having felt reassured from his talk with her, he started his breakfast with a lighter feeling in his stomach.

That afternoon Star went to talk to Harry and told him to just go to Draco and get an explanation. That that was the solution so he should just go and do it. She was ready to give him a bit of time to calm down because she knew at some point he would go running to Draco one way or another.

But as soon as Hermione found out she almost started pushing Harry out of the common room doorway that instant.

So he decided that in the evening he would talk to Draco. Hermione seemed satisfied by this and stopped trying to push him through the wall.

After dinner, Draco was sitting at a desk in his common room, next to a window. He was thinking of starting some other piece of homework before he was interrupted by a tapping at the window.

He heard a screech of an owl, and more vigorous tapping. Worried that if he didnt do anything the window would soon be in shatters, he opened it.

At once a white owl came flying in, bringing in the rain from outside onto the desk. It landed heavily on top of some paper with a loud screech.

Everyone in the common room was alarmed by this, as well as rather confused as to why a random snowy owl has appeared and was bringing in the cold to the once warm common room.

Draco looked around as everyone stared at him, before hastily turning to the owl. It had perched itself on the papers and was looking at him hard. When he turned to it, the owl held out it's leg because there was a scroll of parchment attatched to it.

He took it and the owl still stared at him, as if expecting something.

He looked back awkwardly, and looked around him. A few people were still staring, but many had just hunched more into blankets or gone closer to the fire.

He turned back to the owl, which hadn't stopped staring. Awkwardly, he patted it on the head because he didn't know what else to do.

It studied him carefully as if to say 'Are you seriously patting me?'. It pecked him before swiftly flying off.

Wiping his cut finger on his robes he quickly shut the window before the table became soaked. He looked around again and still a few people were glaring at him, which he replied with a very uncharacteristic sheepish grin before looking at the parchment in his hand.

He was returned with shocked stares, but he didn't see.

On the parchment was written 'Hey, could you please meet me at the Astronomy Tower please?' In familiar handwriting.

Draco smirked, thinking about how earlier that morning he had been told Potter would want to talk to him.

"So Potter, what is it you wanted to meet me about?"

Harry felt a twinge of annoyance at this. 'Git' he thought.

"You know very well what." That was all he offered, an annoyed look covering his face.

"Well if you had let me explain before we wouldn't be in this predicament."

Harry huffed and looked to the side.

"Well if you're not going to do anything then I see no point in staying here," said Draco, turning as if to walk away.

"No wait!"

Draco smirked at the desperate cry, and turned back to face Harry.

"Look, I just want to know why...why don't you want people to see us as a couple?" Harry looked sad, saying the last part rather softly.

Draco sighed. "I just don't want people to see us together and start to say things and it to spread around and..I can't bear the thought of them hurting you."

Harry looked back at him, letting his words go around his head a few times. After a moment of silence bw spoke.

"So...so it's nothing about me?"

Draco stared at him in shock.

"What? No, no nothing like that at all."

He stepped forward and pulled Harry close, his arms around his shoulders. For a few seconds Harry stayed frozen, before wrapping his arms around Draco.

"I thought it was that you didn't want to be seen with me because of me..."

Draco held him tighter, his hand on the back of the smaller boy's head.

"Its nothing about you. You're amazing, I don't care about my image. It's you I care about," Draco whispered to him.

Harry sniffed, tears threatening to build up. He pulled away slightly to look directly at Draco. Draco dipped his cheek in his hand, smiling.

"Don't think that I will something like my image over you. You're my everything, love."

Harry smiled back and kissed him. The kiss was soon returned.

They spent the rest of the evening holding hands whilst standing on the balcony, staring out at the view that slowly grew darker.

The next morning Draco went to breakfast feeling much lighter.

Now that Harry knew why Draco didn't want him to be affectionate in public he no longer tried to kiss him, nor hold his hand. He could tell this meant a lot to Draco, and he didn't want him to worry.

He also found that when they were alone Draco would make a special effort to be more affectionate. But Harry was always the one to cuddle closer, to slip his hand into his. 'For warmth' he would always say.

The next few weeks passed by as times of pure bliss.

"Draaaaacooooo!" Harry called as he ran along the wide path that lead to Hogsmede.

"Must you be so loud Harry?" Draco teased affectionately.

"I just got-"

"Yes, yes you couldn't contain your excitement at my company," he said with a smile.

"Hey don't flatter yourself, I'm the one who asked you if you would come with me. For the second time may I add."

"Actaully I was the one who suggested Hogsmede."

"Ah yes but I'm the one who said it was a date."

And so they bickered lightly about who had asked who on more dates and who obviously got more excited than the other, Draco pointing out that Harry had just yelled rather loudly to him across a very short distance, as they walked down the path.

Just before they reached Hogsmede, Harry gave Draco a kiss on the cheek whilst grasping both of his hands. Before Draco could return the kiss, having frozen from shock, Harry pulled away with a huge grin.

Draco blushed furiously, muttering a 'damn you' as they entered the street with shops on both sides, and Harry laughed.

Draco had noticed how Harry no longer gave affection in public, and he was grateful. He tried to make up for it when they were alone but he had always been the more awkward one when it came to giving affection. Harry always liked to just go straight up to him to cuddle, and usually as always very affectionate just before they went somewhere public.

They went about their trip just like any other, talking about various things. Somehow, they got onto the subject of their argument.

"Well Potter I have said several times I really don't care about my image. I certainly wouldn't put it above someone I love."

"Well you certainly had an interesting image going on in recent years," Harry remarked.

Draco felt a twinge, thinking about what he had been like always hurt. Even then he had regretted his actions, but he felt he only had the Malfoy name as part of him.

But since he had started dating Harry and met Star and even hung out with Hermione, Ron and some other Gryffindor's one night, he felt he could move away from it.

He didn't show Harry that his comment had stung, he didn't want him to worry. He was still getting used to the fact that he wasn't 'Draco Malfoy', he was 'Draco'.

"Oh look! There's a sales at Zonko's!"

"Always the child Potter,"

Harry huffed and turned back to him. "Must you make comments." he frowned at him.

Draco raised his hands up defeat, smiling. "Go ahead, I don't feel like entering the crowded shop,"

Harry looked worried about leaving him alone, but he reassured him.

"I shouldn't be too long, if you want we could meet in the Three Broomsticks if you have somewhere to go."

Draco nodded, but carefully made sure that Harry got into the shop. He couldn't help being worried over the boy, after everything that has happened he never wanted to see him hurt again. Luckily Harry hadn't noticed.

Harry hoped that he wouldn't stay in Zonko's long, after all it was Ron who was the Zonko's enthusiast, but judging by the crowds he would be there a while. He hoped Draco had something to do.

Looking around, Draco had nothing to do. He didn't need to buy anything, and his Slytherin friends were all the way back in the common room.

He caught sight of a sweet shop that he had been to a few times when he needed to buy gifts. For his friends, sweets were always the best option if he didn't know what to get them. He decided to take a look inside to see if they had anything new, maybe he could get some as a surprise for Harry. Not to mention he loved the fudge.

A bell tinkled as he opened the door, and he was greeted with warmth and the sweet smell of sweets. Inside was like a typical sweet shop, jars were lined up behind the counters, in the centre was a huge arrray of sweets to be put into paper bags. On the outside were various chocolate bars, many that Draco didn't recognise and had never heard of, as well as other chocolatey goods. There was even a section of sweet pastries and pumpkin pasties.

He stepped into the shop, grateful for being out of the chilly air. It was getting closer to Halloween, and the weather was slowly getting colder.

Inside, he was surprised to see that Star was also there. She was looking in a section of various chocolate bars that he didn't recognise. Peering around she caught sight of him and waved.

"Hey," he greeted casually, walking over to her. There were no other students in the small shop, most preferring the more well known sweet shop further down the street.

She smiled in greeting, unable to wave because her hands were full of chocolate bars. Draco noticed the names 'Cadbury' and 'Hershey's' written on some, as well as a few 'Milka' and 'Danusia' bars.

"That's a..lot of chocolate you have there."

She looked slightly guilty at this, glancing at her handful.

"Well I am always sharing so I buy more..."

"Aahh, makes sense."

Star tipped her head to the side.

"So why are you here?"

"Well I was wondering if there was anything new, I could surprise Harry."

"Nice."

Draco went over to the sections of sweets, and to his delight there were some sweets that made steam pour out of someone's ears, similarly to a Pepper Up Potion.

He grabbed several, as well as a lot of fudge because it was on offer so why not?

Star was at the counter, her collection having been expanded to several bars with 'CurlyWurly' written on and a bag full of colourful chocolate buttons.

He marvelled at how much sweets one person could buy, especially since Star had told him that she didn't even eat chocolate that much.

She left the counter having paid for everything and was in the middle of packing things away into a tote bag when he came up to her and asked whether she was doing anything and if they could hang out. She said that she didn't have any other shopping to do so yes she would love to.

He paid for his items and they left the shop together. They decided to slowly wander around Hogsmede, window shopping and chatting before they went to the Three Broomsticks.

He managed to make her try one of the sweets he had bought. This resulted in her coughing a lot because instead of slowly letting the sweet dissolve in her mouth, she bit straight into it. Steam poured out of her ears and yet her face grew only slightly pink. Draco was doubled up laughing, only managing to choke out that she wasn't meant to bite it.

They sat down at a table that was in a quieter area of the pub, and ordered drinks.

Star managed to persuade Draco to try some chocolate. She handed him a Cadbury bar and all she said was that he should try it.

Instead he looked at the packaging, wondering what a Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar would be like. Star rolled her eyes and opened it for him.

When the delicious smell of chocolate reached Draco he couldn't help but want to shove it all in his mouth.

Suppressing this, he said "I've never heard of Saydbury's."

Star burst out laughing, covering her mouth as she looked at him. "I-it's Cadbury's Draco not-" and she continued to laugh. Well that was what he guessed, she was one of those who had a silent laugh so you never knew if she was laughing or dying.

"Alright, alright."

She stopped and then burst out "You must try it!"

He smiled at her enthusiasm and muttering a "fine" he took a bite.

He wondered where this had been all his life.

Eyes widening at the delicious taste he quickly took many more, but he also wanted to savour the flavour so he quickly slowed down.

"Wow you really like it huh,"

"Mmmmmhhmmmm," he responded whilst still eating. All too soon he finished.

That's when he noticed another in front of him. His eyes sparkled but he felt bad, he didn't want to eat all Star's chocolate, he was only supposed to try.

"Go on have more, I bought a lot. I love it too, what I have now won't last long trust me. Take it while you can."

He still looked guilty but she insisted. Before he took a bite he mentioned he must return to the shop for more. She told him all about how there are different types such as one with something called caramel inside. He felt himself begin to drool and hw hastily took a swig of his hot chocolate before he embarassed himself.

She also mentioned how it was her favourite chocolate, and was glad they sold muggle chocolate in the shop. He was surprised to hear this, he didn't know that the weird sweets other things he hadn't heard of were muggle. Maybe he could take a look to see what else he could discover.

He was just finishing his second bar as Harry walked over.

"Hey Potter why have you never shown me-" he turned to Star and whispered "C-cadbury's?" And she nodded. "Cadbury's?"

Harry stared at him in complete shock. "Uggghhh because I didn't know you liked muggle chocolate.." He trailed off, sitting down as he glanced at the wrappers on the table.

"Well now you've learnt something new."

Star left them, suddenly remembering that she had to meet Hermione soon, giving a frantic wave as she walked out of the door.

Harry was surprised that Draco had tried Cadbury's, which soon became the topic of conversation. Harry told Draco about many of the sweets he had seen Dudley eat but never had the chance to eat. Little did he know that Draco was already planning on asking Star to show him the ones he was talking about so he could buy them all for him.

They both ordered butterbeers and soon the subject changed to magic sweets, and then somehow to Quidditch at the mention that the Quidditch season would begin soon.

Having a lower alcohol tolerance than Draco, Harry soon became slightly tipsy as the afternoon changed to early evening. Draco had arrived in the late afternoon, and Harry had arrived an hour after him.

He could feel himself getting more and more drunk, but he managed to stop himself before he lost the sense of how to think properly.

He looked at Draco, who for some reason now seemed to appear brighter, and just couldn't help thinking 'God damnit how can he be this cute' .

Draco looked back at him with a confused and almost scared look on his face as he grinned widely.

"Hey Draco, you're cuuuteeee."

Before he could get some kind of response, he added "Like reaaaalllyyy cuteeee."

"I'm glad you stopped having more to drink Potter."

Harry ignored this and carried on about his previous point.

"Like you're so cuutee I just wanna squeeeeeeze you. Can I? You're so soft. Like a kitten."

At this he burst into a fit of un-Harryish giggles.

"What on earth are you laughing about?!"

"Just......" he could barely speak through laughter, "Your last name is Malfoy and you're like a kitten."

"Yeah, so?"

"Meowfoy."

Harry continued to giggle whilst Draco just looked at him in disbelief.

After a pause Harry grew quiet, staring at Draco.

"Hey Draco do you know what you also are?"

"What am I Harry?"

"Hawwwwttt."

Draco blushed furiously before face palming. Why did his boyfiend have to be a flirty drunk??

Harry stared at his boyfriend, marvelling at how handsome he was.

"You're really hot."

"Can you think straight Potter?"

"No I think gay."

Sighing loudly he changed his question to "Can you think clearly?"

And the thing was he could. Harry was aware of what he was saying. The alcohol gave him the confidence to just let everything he thought pour out of his mouth.

"Of course I can!"

"Right, right."

"I really can!" He said desperately. He leaned across the table to emphasise his point.

"Alright I get it ok."

"Good." Harry grinned goofily.

He leaned in even closer, having his entire torso across the table, and smiled flirtily.

"Heyyy how bout we take things furtherrr. I don't get to cuddle youuu now that we're alllwaayyys around other people."

It took Draco a few moments to realise what Harry meant and what he was asking.

"You mean sex?"

Harry nodded enthusiastically, like a child that was answering a question.

"Not when you're drunk Potter," and then he added "Not as a drunken whim."

Harry pouted and sat back down into his chair. He mumbled a "Killjoy" before turning away.

Draco huffed, unsure how to respond in words.

After a moment he got up, saying that they should probably get back. Harry huffed loudly and refused to move. He really could be like a child.

"I thought dating you could be more exciting."

Draco looked at him in a mixture of horror and shock. He looked away from Harry and then back at him several times. Then he left the pub.

The next day, Draco wasn't sure what to do.

He wasn't going to break up with Harry over this. That was the last thing he wanted to happen. But he felt bad knowing that he was uncomfortable at the idea of sex, and that Harry felt differently. He wanted to confront Harry about this but he was scared of what could happen.

He sent a message to Harry to meet him at the Astronomy Tower. He didn't want to leave this bad feeling in his chest, and he didn't want to leave things like this for long.

Walking toward the tower, he felt himself shaking. What if Harry didn't turn up? What if he did? How exactly could he start the conversation?

Somehow 'Oh hello Harry let's talk about how yesterday you just hit one of my deepest insecurities. But no big deal. Please don't do it again. Oh and I don't feel comfort able about the idea of sex just yet, so just calm yourself. That's all, bye!' didn't sound right.

Harry was already there when Draco reached the top of the stairs. He felt himself go cold as he saw that Harry looked confused. Did he not know how much his words had hurt?

"Draco," he greeted softly. He wasn't sure what to say.

"Harry," Draco responded, unsure how or where to begin.

"Is this about what I said? Why did you leave so suddenly? Did it really hurt, what I said?"

Draco looked at him in disbelief. He was his boyfriend , he knew he was insecure about affection and that sort of thing. He had seen how awkward he was, he knew how he felt about people seeing them as a couple.

They had had several teasing arguements over this, and about other things such as how Harry never seemed up to the idea of just sitting comfortably somewhere all day, they always had to do something.

It occured to Draco now that underneath underneath teasing, they were almost full arguements.

Whenever they had stopped teasing he had always felt something weighing him down about his insecurities. Harry had always looked slightly annoyed, so he guessed he was affected aswell.

"Yes, yes it did." Harry looked shocked. "I would have thought you would have known."

"No..I mean yeah..but-"

"Why did you even say it?!" Draco burst out.

"I-I was just thinking about you were always called a Slytherin Prince and I was surprised that you didn't seem like that..."

"So you listened to the rumours? You thought I was like that when I have said that it was all fake? That I put up that image because I felt I had no other way?"

Harry looked guilty, looking from side to side, anywhere but at Draco.

"Well the way you seemed to walk around and act...I know it isn't really you I just thought you were a little like that.."

Draco sighed. He knew he couldn't get him to admit he had believed the rumours. At least he could be grateful he did think that they could be untrue.

"Draco..." Harry called softly, trailing off.

Draco pinched the bridge of his nose, breathing out loudly.

"Harry, sometimes you really do frustrate me."

"Yeah, you do to m-"

"But I guess I can get over t-"

"Hey, you know you are always interuppting me! Like, like you're better than me or something. Like you know what I am about to say! I hate it when you do that! And, and you never let us be like a couple! I never get to get closer to you! You always tease me about being Saint Potter and I know you can be affectionate! I want us to move forward but sometimes I just feel like you want us to just stay here! But "here" is almost just like being friends! I don't care about others! I want us to act like a couple Draco!"

Draco was stunned. He had told Harry exactly why he didn't want that to happen. He had had to convince him it was nothing to do with his image. He had always known Harry wanted them to act like a couple. But he had just felt so be about what people could say. He knew that despite what Harry had said, it would hurt.

Harry's voice brought him out of his thoughts.

"Draco, don't you realise, don't you are, I want you."

Harry had come closer to him, a pleading look in his eyes.

"H-Harry!"

"I want you Draco," Harry repeated.

"Harry, i'm sorry-"

"Draacoo don't you think we could at least try? Or at least make out for once?"

"Harry, please. I just don't feel like it, please stop it feels like you're pressuring me."

" 'You don't feel like it' " Harry air quoted him, "That's flattering."

"Harry." At this, Harry stopped short at what he was about to say, listening intently to what Draco was about to say.

"Look, if you're going to be like this then......I'm sorry but, this -us- can't carry on."

Harry looked at him, his face had dropped.

"Fine, I just wanted the relationship to move a bit forward and you bring it down. This is what I mean when I say I can't get closer closer you. I hope you're happy."

Harry stalked off.

Draco was left feeling like something had cracked inside him.

He moved to the balcony, just as he felt tears run down his face. He stated out at the view, wondering if the perfect beauty of it all was mocking him in some way.

That's when he heard footsteps directly behind him, and a familiar voice say his name.

She put her arms around him, holding him tight. Looking ahead in shock, he tried to wipe away his tears before saying anything, but a sob wracked his body. Her head was on his shoulder and he could smell her hair, a sweet, comforting smell.

He continued to sob, one hand over his face, the other around the arms around his middle.

She didn't say anything, just closed her eyes and let him spill it all out.

After what felt like hours, he turned around, her arms falling away from him, to face her directly.

Tears still fell around his face, but he could finally ask what she was doing here.

"Well I heard Harry mention the Astronomy Tower, and I wanted to go there but I knew he was meeting you so I didn't head off straight away. I arrived just as Harry was leaving."

Draco looked at her with a mixture of wonder and admiration. He didn't know how he could have managed without having her to talk to. He told her things he couldn't tell his other friends because they were usually about Harry, and he knew she could explain things.

Hugging her tightly, he mumbled "Thank you," into her shoulder.

She hugged him back. After a short moment he looked up at her, pulling away slightly, and she stared back at him. Wiping away his tears, she looked concerned.

"So what happened?"

His face fell, and he hugged her again. "We,we broke up," he stuttered.

She ran her fingers through the back of his hair soothingly as he held her. Unsure of how to respond, she just kept going in hopes to calm him.

Eventually he did, and they sat down on the ledge facing the balcony. She leaned against him and he put his arm around her. They sat, enjoying the silence.

Over the next few weeks, they often hung out together, often in the library. He noticed how she always seemed to sense when he was feeling down.

She had comforted Harry aswell of course, but she knew Ron, Hermione and many others were there for him.

One Saturday, Star asked if he was going to Hogsmede. Initially he hasn't thought about it, but he could tell she was asking if they would hang out so he said yes. She said they could do some Christmas shopping together, since it was the beginning of December.

Gadzook's didn't usually go to Hogsmede; she attracted too much attention. So they were left with just one another.

At this point he was no longer upset over the break up, and he felt he could talk about it more. Star was more than happy to listen.

As they were walking down the main street, already having been to a few shops including they're favourite: the sweet shop, he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Oh my god."

"What?" She asked, turning to him.

"I just realised, I have spent this while trip just ranting about Harry and the break up."

She looked back at him, her head cocked to the side.

"God you must be tired of this by now. It can't have been your ideal Christmas shopping experience."

"Well, I did intend for this trip to serve as a way for you to get over it and forget, but it's as much your trip as mine. I don't mind listening."

"Well, from now on i'm not going to mention it."

She gave him a withering look, and he changed his answer to that he wouldn't mention it as much.

"Well good, it means you're getting over it," said a happy Star. They carried on walking down the street, and this time Draco really noticed how much her company had helped him, considering whenever they had hung out the subject he wanted to avoid had always come up.

Soon they got onto the subject of Quidditch, at which Draco did not mention and Harry.

Somehow they got to talking about muggles, where they both mentioned sweets, and Star mentioned about some music, by this band to do with dragons. He didn't find it surprising, he knew of her obsession with the creatures.

She also mentioned a band about discos, and one Hermione really liked called 'Fall Out Boy'.

They ended their trip by going to the Three Broomsticks, and had hot chocolate. Drinking hot chocolate had become a custom between the two.

It was when Star showed him some music that he realised he was beginning to feel more affectionate about her.

It had been when she hadn't realised that the next song on the CD (a/n: once in a hp movie I heard music being played so I imagine there are CD players) was from a heavy metal band, and had only found out when Draco had jumped suddenly.

She had first looked shocked as she turned it off, and then started laughing from his shock. He'd burst out saying that he didn't realise she listened to that kind of music.

She was laughing, and he had been too, when he looked over and found himself thinking 'How is it even human to be this cute'. Followed by 'wait what'.

He realised even more so when they had visited the sweet shop in another trip, and she had been enjoying a strawberry tart. He had caught himself wondering if he kissed her, if she would taste like strawberries. At which he thought 'What the fuck am I thinking'.

He had looked away, blushing heavily, his hand covering his mouth. She was left looking at him in confusion.

As it came nearer to Christmas, they found themselves seeing less and less of each other because the teachers seemed to want to give them enough homework to last before, during and after the holidays.

They decided to meet just as the holidays started, to exchange gifts. Star was rather excited, she loved giving gifts. But she was also very nervous. She hoped he will like the present. For some reason, and she didn't know, she was really scared about embrassing herself around him.

When the day came, Draco found Star at they're meeting place of one of those rooms with stairs going up one side to use as seating areas. She had snow caught in her hair and the jumper, with a dragon on of course, she was wearing.

She smiled as he say down next to her, himself also in a jumper. Though this was certainly less brighter than Star's, which hugely contrasted with her black jeans.

"I love your sweater."

She looked down at her atire, laughing, she said that she didn't normally wear it, only if she planned on going to the Astronomy Tower, or the Owlery, when it was snowing.

After a moment's pause she said "Well, here is your present."

Handing him a festival decorated box with a huge bow on it, she beamed at him. Carefully taking off the wrapping paper, he opened the box to reveal several what looked like chocolate bars wrapped in red and green wrapping paper.

"Wha? This must have taken a while to wrap!"

She nodded vigorously, but stated that she had enjoyed it.

"There's many types, including caramel, which you must try. I do hope you like it, if not I can replace it with normal bars." She looked worried.

"I'm sure I will don't worry."

"Actually I just remembered, I brought one to eat but forgot about it," she mumbled whilst reaching up her sleeve.

"You enjoy it whilst I unwrap all these haha," Draco replied, watching her try and take out the bar whilst it kept getting caught in her jumper.

Draco began to unwrap the bars,  whilst Star enjoyed her chocolate. He glanced over at her, she had nearly finished the entire bar despite him having only just started unwrapping his first bar.

She looked so cute as she finished, wrapping the wrapper into a small ball. She placed it on the side of her and turned to him.

He didn't know what made him do it, maybe it was that she just looked so cute and irresistible, and naybe that he notcied she had some of what he guessed was caramel along the top of her lips.

Rushing at her with such force that she ended up falling against the steps, he kissed her.

Too shocked to kiss back, and too shocked to stop him, she stared at him before closing her eyes, melting into the kiss.

She tasted like chocolate, and something sweet which Draco assumed was caramel, and smelt of rain.

They pulled away only to catch their breath, staring at one another. They were both tangled in Star's long hair, since it had flown up when she was knocked to the stairs.

Draco was leaning over her, but she barely noticed how the stair was digging into her back.He decided that the flavour of caramel was his favourite thing.

She smiled up at him as she noticed he had caramel on his lips. Laughing slightly she said "You have caramel on you."

He rolled his eyes. "That's not how you do it." She looked at him, confused at what he meant.

Once again he kissed her, but this time she began to kiss him back. He backed away slightly to stop leaning over her so much. They sat up slightly, his arm around her, her hand just clinging against the collar of his jumper.

Just before they pulled away, this kiss was faster than the previous, Star licked away the caramel quickly, with a cheeky grin.

"Seeee,  I'm not completely hopeless." They laughed, and Star looked away but still glanced at Draco out of the corner of her eye.

She really liked his smile.

Suddenly, she hugged him. He looked ahead in surprise as she buried her face in his warm sweater.

After a short moment, he hugged her back.

Pulling away slightly so that she could move closer to him, she leaned against him. His arms around her, she didn't want this to end.

Neither did he. He could have her snuggle up to him in this fluffy sweater for all the holidays. He planned for them to cuddle as often as possible.

"Merry Christmas Draco."

He kissed her temple.

"Merry Christmas Star."
