*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

George had been having a hard time. His mother wanted him to marry and settle down. She wanted him to follow in Fred's footsteps. A white picket fence with a lovely girl to go home to after a long day at work. But that was the problem.

Only Fred knew the truth. Being George's twin and best friend it wasn't easy for George to hide things. George couldn't marry a nice girl and have a white picket fence. He strongly believed in marrying for love since he didn't want to end up in a loveless marriage. He just couldn't marry a girl.

"You should tell them" Fred said.

"You should tell her." George retorted.

Fred shrugged and George shrugged. They were shopping for suits. Fred was getting married after all. Finally tying the knot and settling down. Except he was only doing it so he wouldn't have to answer the questions George was stuck with.

"Seriously tell her." George frowned as he tossed a horrid looking suit to the side.

"I'll tell her when you tell mom and dad." Fred bargained.

George raised an eyebrow at Fred and smirked. "Fine. You're not allowed to back out."

Fred shrugged. "Sure."

They hadn't really found much of anything. Not that they were really looking. If George really did tell their parents then Fred wouldn't end up getting married. Not that getting married was his desire though. At least not to the person he was engaged to.

They returned back to their small apartment. Surprised to find Ron and Harry waiting outside of their door. Harry was almost unconscious, battered up and bleeding. Ron wasn't as bad but he was also bleeding and trying to hold Harry up.

"Mind if we crash?" Ron smiled half heartedly.

"What the hell happened?" Fred asked as George opened the door.

"We walked into a trap. Some Death Eaters wanted payback on Harry." Ron explained. "We couldn't get all of them so I brought Harry here. Since you know..."

"You're the only one that knows where we live." George finished his sentence and Ron nodded.

George went to help Ron with Harry. He was surprised by how light Harry was. With the way Harry was built one would assume he weighed a lot. However, George picked him up with ease. Ron limped in behind them and Fred shut the door.

"I'll lay Harry down and get you something for the pain." George said and walked around the corner.

"Fred you got any of the bone growing stuff?" Ron winced as he sat down. "Think I need a new leg."

"Just because I work at a hospital doesn't mean I take anything." Fred frowned. "But, I do have dreamless sleep if you want to sleep while George and I try to fix the two of you."

Ron nodded his head as George walked back. He handed Ron a vile while Fred went to get another. As soon as Ron finished both viles he passed out on the couch. Fred and George frowned at each other and shook their heads.

"We told them not to do this job." George complained.

"At least they come to us when they need help." Fred shrugged.

George rolled his eyes. They had the same idea. This was becoming a normal thing. Every so often they'd both show up bloodied, bruised and beaten. Every time Fred and George fixed them up. They did it because it was better than letting their mother worry about them.

*~*~*

"So... I have something to tell everyone."

George was glad that his family had gathered even though it was to celebrate Fred's impending wedding. He felt a little bad thinking about it but Fred had agreed. If George spilt the beans then Fred wasn't going to get married. George looked at Fred a little concerned. Fred shrugged and nodded his head.

"I can't get married to a lady." George finally said.

"Why not? Fred is. He's..."

"It's not that simple Bill. I can't marry a lady." George emphasized the last word. "I can't do it because I'm gay. I like guys and if I could I would be with the person I like."

Fred patted George's shoulder. They both seemed to wait for someone to lash out at George. Fred scanned everyone's faces for a reaction while George kept his head down.

"So who do you like?" Harry asked.

George and Fred looked at each other before looking at Harry. George looked around and realised that everyone seemed to be waiting for him to answer. George was surprised that everyone seemed accepting of the fact that he was gay. He shook his head and shrugged at the question.

"It doesn't matter. He doesn't like me back that way." George said.

"How do you know?" Ron frowned.

"He's straight." Fred answered this time.

They spent quite a while just talking. Most times someone would try fishing for more details on who George liked but he never gave it away. At least not verbally. Hermione seemed to be the only one to pick up on his nonverbal and basically subconscious action. Everytime someone would ask George's eyes would flick to the side.

"He's here isn't he? The guy you like." Hermione whispered to George when she got him alone.

George's eyes flicked just like she had expected. She turned in the direction she saw them go and frowned. It took her a second to realise who he kept looking at. She turned back to George a little wide eyed. He was frowing at her.

"You don't have to say anything just nod if I'm correct." Hermione said in a soft low tone. "It's Harry."

George sighed and nodded. "Don't say anything."

"I won't." Hermione smiled and winked. "But you and Fred are under the wrong impression about him."

With that Hermione walked away. Even though Ron was Harry's best friend everyone knew Hermione was always one peg above him. Hermione did know a lot more about Harry than Ron did. So naturally George started questioning himself and what he knew after Hermione left him.

The celebration went on for quite a while. It was near the end of the night when the drama started to happen. George knew exactly what was happening the second he saw Fred get slapped across the face. He felt a little bad, but they had made a deal.

"You're a fucking asshole Fred Weasley!"

"Hey at least I was honest with you." Fred shrugged. "Would you rather I didn't tell you?"

"Agh! We're done!" She took of the ring and threw it at Fred.

Fred shrugged and turned to the crowd around him. He shrugged and caught George's smile. He picked up the ring from the floor. Fred walked over to his twin and patted his shoulder.

"I guess you were right. A deal is a deal after all." Fred handed the ring to George. "Maybe you'll have better luck than me."

"Don't be ridiculous." George shook his head but he still took the ring Fred handed him.

Fred turned to everyone else and explained what happened. Although surprised and a little upset the party still went on. Fred and George ended up being the first to leave. George had enough of people asking him about who he liked. Fred was just bored and they had gone there together so they left together.

"Hermione said we had the wrong impression about Harry. I can't figure out what she meant." George said as they entered their apartment.

Fred shrugged. "He doesn't even remember that you were the one who took care of him. Neither does Ron apparently."

George shurgged this time. "Whatever."

~*~*~

"You know you don't need to be upset right?"

"I'm not upset Hermione."

Hermione shrugged. "Sure you've just been forcing laughs at jokes that aren't funny. Or forcing smiles and nodding your head when you're not paying attention. I'm not stupid Harry."

Harry frowned. "What do I have to be upset about?"

"George." Hermione deadpanned. "I've seen you staring at him. I know you broke up with Ginny because of him. Or did you conveniently forget you told me that?"

Harry sighed. "So what he doesn't like me. He likes someone else."

Hermione slapped the back of Harry's head. "You act as though you don't remember all the times he has taken off from work to nurse you back to health. I'm pretty sure if he wasn't running his own store he'd be fired by now."

Harry rubbed his head and frowned. "So?"

"Oh my Merlin! Harry!" Hermione said exasperated. "He likes you! He thinks you're straight because you were dating Ginny! Why else would he put everything on hold for you? He doesn't do it for Ron, Ginny or Fred. His own twin doesn't get the treatment he gives you. You're so oblivious!"

Hermione shook her head and marched back inside. She didn't care that she yelled at him. No one inside would have heard her anyway. She loved Harry like a brother but he was infuriating. He was so oblivious sometimes and she never understood why.

Harry was still thinking about what Hermione had said when the news came to him. Ron came running out of the house a few seconds later. Harry didn't have time to think about things like that. His job was keeping people safe and he was fairly decent at it. He also liked it.

Harry and Ron found themselves once again fighting off a wannabe group of Death Eaters. He didn't understand how so many people wanted to follow in the footsteps of bad people. Wannabe because none of them could be. Harry had made sure of that when he killed Voldemort. But evil never really died and that's why he chose this job.

A few cuts and bruises were nothing to write home about and the job was wrapped up in record time. Ron took the wannabes into custody while Harry... Harry was going to write home about his scratches and bruises. He was going to see George.

Besides Ron he was the only other person who knew where the twins lived. Since Ron had taken him there more than a few times. Harry found himself frozen in front of the door. He didn't know what he was going to say. He wasn't injuried badly so he felt like he had no excuse to be there.

Harry knocked and held his breath. Fred answered the door and raised an eyebrow. Harry felt a little disappointed by this, but he knew they lived together. Harry offered Fred a weak smile still a little unsure of what to say.

"I need help?" Harry said more of a question than a statement.

Fred rolled his eyes and let Harry in. "George! Your patient is here!"

"What on earth are you... Oh. Hi Harry." George said as he walked into the lounge and stopped.

Fred patted Harry's shoulder and was so grateful he had the night shift that week. This was awkward already and neither of them had even said much. Fred wasn't sure why Harry was there but he had a feeling that Hermione had told him. Fred was sure that George was trying to put on a brave face and act like he didn't care. Either way he didn't want any more drama just yet. He also didn't want to be there if the outcome was good.

"Well see you later." Fred smirked and winked at George and shut the door behind him.

"Is everything okay?" George asked Harry.

His concern was evident in his voice and face. Harry shrugged and hated that he hadn't really thought this through. He remembered that he had cut his hand pretty deep. It wasn't that he needed help patching it up. It was the only thing he could think of. He held his hand forward.

"I ammm..."

George sighed and they sat down. Harry watched George's face as he worked on his hand. George didn't look up at him once throughout the whole process.

"There that should be..."

"George I didn't come here for my hand." Harry blurted out.

George shrugged. "I know. Did Hermione tell you?"

Harry nodded and then realised George still wasn't looking at him. "She yelled at me actually."

George sighed and looked up at Harry. "So are you here to tell me it'll never happen?"

"The opposite actually." Harry moved closer. "I'm not exactly straight George. And I think you should know that I broke up with Ginny because of you."

George stared at Harry in surprise. "What?"

Harry shrugged and moved closer to him again. "I guess it took me a while to realise. But still even then I had to have Hermione shouting at me for being an idiot. I do like you George."

"Is it ok if I kiss you then?" George asked.

Harry nodded his head and George didn't wait for a second invitation. He pulled Harry towards him and slowly connected their lips. Harry shifted closer to him still. Eventually George simply pulled Harry on top of him. Harry pulled away from the kiss smiling a little. He chewed his bottom lip for a moment as he straddled George.

"Fred's not coming back soon is he?" Harry asked.

George laughed and shook his head no. He lifted the back of Harry's shirt and leaned forward. His fingers gently moved over Harry's skin. Harry was biting his lip again and trying to move away from George's fingers.

"Why are you worried about that?" George asked.

"No reason." Harry said.

Harry squirmed a little and kissed George again. George smiled kissing him back and pulling him closer. Harry's fingers tangled in his hair. George, still a little surprised by how light Harry was, ended up carrying Harry to his room.

The next day Harry woke up feeling a little sore, but he was warm and had slept better than ever since the war. He opened his eyes and it took a minute for his vision to adjust as he slid on his glasses. He was in a familiar place even though he was alone.

Harry found his shirt and pants and pulled them on before making his way to the door. He opened it and heard soft laughing coming from a distance. He walked towards the sounds a small smile growing on his face.

"Morning." Harry said.

"It's late afternoon Harry." Fred laughed.

"Whatever." Harry mumbled and walked over to George.

George wrapped an arm around him and pulled him closer. Harry rested his head on George's shoulder and closed his eyes. He hadn't felt this level peace since ever. George pushed his plate over towards Harry and moved his shoulder slightly.

"You two are actually quite cute together." Fred smiled.

"Shut up Fred." Harry and George said at the same time.

"Whatever you say." Fred laughed. "See you tomorrow Harry."

Harry frowned and watched Fred leave. He turned to George wanting to ask. George pointed at a clock that read 5:30 pm. Harry's eyes went wide and he turned to George completely.

"Why didn't you wake me? Oh shit I don't even..."

"Harr relax." George laughed. "I asked Fred to call and say you were sick. You were so peaceful I didn't want to take that away."

"You should have still woken me." Harry frowned.

"Well now I know for next time." George shrugged. "Eat."

Harry first started to pick at the food on the plate. Then he realised just how hungry he was and started eating properly. George even filled the plate up a second time for him. When Harry was done eating they both relaxed on the couch.

"How do you eat so much, look like... that and still weigh next to nothing?" George asked Harry with genuine puzzlement.

"I'm not that light." Harry frowned.

"Harry, the last time you were beaten to all hell Ron brought you here by himself with a broken leg." George raised an eyebrow.

Harry shrugged. "You're just strong."

*~*~*

George had been having a hard time. He didn't know what to wear. Should he go with silk or swade? Or maybe even leather? Perhaps he should just go with Denim? He strongly believed in marrying for love since he didn't want to end up in a loveless marriage. Now he was actually scared.

"Maybe you should ask him." Fred said.

"No I can't do that." George sighed.

George tossed aside another silk lined jacket. They were out shopping for suits. George was getting married after all. He had always known his feelings were strong but he never thought they'd be reciprocated. He wasn't prepared for the outcome.

"I'm pretty sure he's as worried as you." Fred shrugged.

"He's working so I doubt that." George shrugged as well.

They hadn't really found much of anything. George was being too nitpicky about everything. He was marrying for love but he was still scared. After all Harry did have a dangerous job. They were surprised to find Harry and Ron waiting for them. Surprised because neither of them were bloodied or brused.

Harry smiled as he saw George walking towards them. As Fred opened the door Harry wrapped his arms around George. Ron pretended to gag as he stepped around them and walked into the apartment. He was carrying a bag over his shoulder.

"What's in there?" Fred asked.

"Suits." Ron shrugged. "Harry couldn't decide on one so he bought five. He wanted your help with the final choice."

Fred laughed. "And George wouldn't get any because he couldn't decide. Those two were made for each other."

Ron and Fred turned to the door that still stood open. George and Harry were still standing there. They were still just holding each other. Ron sighed and shook his head.

"Oi! We don't have all day mate." Ron yelled.

Harry pouted and the two walked in and closed the door. Ron was keeping Harry to a tight schedule. Since they had decided to get married two months after getting engaged, a lot still needed to get done before then.

Harry woke up the next morning feeling warmer than usual. He had grown so accustomed to sleeping peacefully. So much so that he didn't bother with his glasses when he woke up. Although now he wouldn't be able to get them even if he tried.

There were muffled voices and for half a second Harry almost freaked out. Except he knew this feeling of peace. He knew where and who it came from. Without George he wouldn't feel it. Even after two years George was still the only person who gave him this level of peace.
