Harco (2) - My Pet

I almost burst out laughing as I looked at myself in the mirror. Well to be more accurate if I could have laughed I would have. I felt so ridiculously stupid as I looked over my tiny body. "Why had I done this again?" I thought. Heavy footsteps brought me back to reality.

"Draco!"

I skittered into my joining bathroom as fast as I could. My tiny lungs strained from the effort. I leaned against the door trying desperately to close it. I had little to no strength against the giant piece of wood. I closed my tiny eyes willing myself to turn back to my human form.

"What in great Merlin's name!?" I gulped not wanting to open my eyes. "Get off of the floor, Draco, and put some clothes on."

"Yes father." I sighed.

I did as I was told and exited my bathroom. My father and mother were sitting on the end of my bed. I gulped again not sure if I had been caught. Neither of my parents said anything until I was standing in front of them.

"So what were you doing?" My father asked.

"Nothing." I shrugged.

"Seeing a rat run into my son's bathroom. Then seeing that same rat turn into my son. I don't think that's nothing." My father raised an eyebrow.

"So you did see that huh." I sighed. "I ammm... I wanted to see if I could become an anemigus and what my anemigus would be if I did."

"A rat?" My mother asked.

"Actually it's a kitten mother." I shrugged.

"Well, go on. Show us." My father smirked.

I grunted. My father was a great guy even though he was cold to everyone. He seemed scary but I knew the real him. I knew he was looking for a reason to tease me and not be mad at me. Even with my mother there he would tease me. I nodded my head and closed my eyes thinking about my anemigus form. I still didn't know how to do this properly. I didn't open my eyes until a hand wrapped around my body. I opened my eyes and meowed as I was lifted off the ground.

"He's kind of cute. Don't you think, Narcissa?" My father poked at my stomach.

I bit at him and squirmed letting him know I don't like being poked or man handled. My mother seemed to notice and gently took me from my father. She had a look of disappointment on her face, but I knew it wasn't directed at me.

"Lucius don't man-handle your son like that." My mother scolded him and I tried to stick my tongue out at him.

I let out a chuffed huf instead and smirked as best I could. My father laughed and apologized. A few moments later they left and I was standing in front of my mirror again. They had taken this new development surprisingly well.

I managed to turn myself back and I flopped in bed. I was kind of tired from all that. I had been trying to get it right pretty much my entire holiday. It was a really intense push on my magic, my body and my mental state. Not long after properly getting into bed I fell asleep.

*~*~* Change POV *~*~*

My mind wondered to the end of my previous year. Draco had been much more distant, more reserved. I had followed him a few times because he had been acting suspicious. For the first time in all the years I've known him, he broke down right in front of me. And for the first time I really noticed his beauty.

"Malfoy?"

"What are you doing here?"

"I followed you." I shrugged.

Draco held his wand up. I could see it in his eyes though, he didn't want to attack me. I held up my hamds instead of going for my wand. I didn't want to fight him as much as could see he didn't want to fight me. Draco's wand dropped to the ground and he followed suit a few seconds later.

"I don't want to do it." Draco sobbed.

I moved closer to him and knelt down. He wasn't looking at me and his body was shaking. I don't know why I did it, but I brought him into a hug. I felt his body go rigid in my arms.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?"

It was at that moment Draco completely broke down. He explained to me what was happening at his house. He explained the task he was given. When he was done crying he seemed to come to his senses. It made me laugh at his sudden change in attitude, but I didn't let him go.

Although he wasn't really being mean he was trying to be a bit defensive. He started drilling me about my reasons for wanting to help him. I couldn't really tell him the exact truth of the matter so I had to give him the next best reason I could come up with in the moment.

I shook my head of the thoughts. "I can't think of him too much." I told myself. I was still connected to that nose-less asshole. If I thought too much about any one person he would know. And if I dwelled on Draco I would no doubt think about where he is which would put him in even more danger.

"Harry!"

*~*~* Change POV *~*~*

"What are you doing here!?"

"I figured I could help you." I shrugged

"Dray! I told you to stay hidden!"

I shrugged again and stepped closer. "Harry, you basically saved my family. I just wanted to help you."

Harry sighed. "Dray, there's something I have to do. Just know that I love you okay."

He kissed me and walked away before I could say anything. I couldn't move anyway because I was shocked. What was I supposed to do now? I hesitated before turning into my anemigus and running after him.

I stayed a little back, scared that he might see me and chase me away. He made his way through the forbidden forest and a sense of dread crept over me. My heart almost stopped as I watched Harry drop to the ground. He hadn't even tried to defended himself. I couldn't move for a good couple of seconds just staring at him. I ran up to him and hissed at the Death Eater trying to touch him.

Hagrid picked his body up and I ran off. I had to tell someone. I had to find a way to make things right. Harry had told me that he loved me. I hadn't had the opportunity to tell him that I loved him too. Harry's hand had brushed my fur and that only clicked when I rejoined the crowd of students.

After the battle was over I immediately went to look for Harry. I needed to tell him the truth, in case I never got another opportunity. I was scared that the chance was gone when I couldn't find him. My fear only grew when I saw him standing on the bridge with his friends.

"Harry! I'm so glad you didn't die!" I rushed up to him.

I didn't care anymore about what might be said to me. I just cared about the stupidly, wreckless Gryffindor in front of me. My arms wrapped around his neck and I burried my face in his shoulder. I half expected him to push me away, but instead he wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you too, by the way." I whispered to him.

"That's good to know, kitten." Harry kissed my cheek.

Someone cleared their throat and I felt Harry lift his head. I only tightened my grip a little. I didn't want to let go of him. I had come too close to loosing him for good. I didn't even look up to see the faces of Harry's friends.

*~*~* Change POV *~*~*

I smiled at my friend's as I held onto Draco. He was so utterly cute and I was sure that he wasn't aware of the times I had dropped in to check on him. I was both impressed and proud of him for pulling off the anemigus transformation.

"Harry, what's going on here?"

"You know Draco Malfoy right?" I smiled.

Hermione rolled her eyes. "When did this happen?"

My arms instinctively pulled Draco closer. "Last year... Was it before or after Christmas?"

I knew when it was. I just wanted Draco to look up. I didn't like that he was hiding his beautiful face. Draco did lift his head and I smiled at him. I'm pretty sure he knew what I was trying to do. He rolled his eyes at me and stepped back.

"It was after. You know that Harry." Draco mumbled.

I shrugged and held Draco's hand. "Long story short I agreed to help him and his family."

"And the fact that he hugged you? That looked like more." Ron raised his eyebrow and crossed his arms.

"People change, Ron. Just give him a chance. I'm sure he will be able to prove it to you." I grinned.

*~*~*~*~* A Few Years Later *~*~*~*~*

"Harry! When did you get a cat!?"

I poked my head into the passageway and frowned. "Hi Ron. What are you talking about?"

"Wherever you bought that cat, you should go back and return it. It has a worse attitude than Crookshanks." Ron huffed and walked towards me while still watching the floor.

We sat down in my study where I had been working the whole morning. Ron was telling me about Ginny's upcoming wedding. I wasn't interested though because I still haven't forgiven her for trying to kill Draco. As Ron was talking a fluffy white kitten walked into the room. The sight of it made Ron jump.

"See that's what I was talking about." Ron pointed to the kitten.

The kitten hissed at Ron and earned a yelp from him. I swear that I saw it smiling as it walked to me and jumped onto my lap. I shook my head and smiled as I pet it.

"Seriously Harry. You should find out what its problem is."

"Hey, kitten. Why are you giving Ron attitude?" I asked.

"It's not going to..." Before Ron could finished his sentence the kitten transformed.

"He stepped on my bladdy tail. It hurt." Draco whined.

"I'm sorry Dray, but he didn't know that." I sighed.

Draco pouted and burried his head in the crook of my neck. Ron was staring at us shocked with his mouth hanging open. I rubbed circles on Draco's back and turned my attention back to Ron. He was still comically frozen in place.

"I didn't realise you were talking about Draco otherwise I would have told you." I smiled.

"Told me what exactly. That your new pet is your old boyfriend? Or that your new pet could talk?" Ron huffed.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Both? I guess."

"So when did that happen?" Ron asked.

"The year we went hunting for hoacruxes." I shrugged.

"At least he's a better looking cat than Crookshanks." Ron shrugged as well. "I'm sorry I guess. For stepping on your tail. I didn't realise I did."

"It's okay." Draco mumbled and yawned.

"Sleepy already, kitten? It's only like 5." I looked at Draco.

"Yeah and we were up all night. What's your point?" Draco huffed and turned back into his anemigus.

He curled up in my lap and covered his face with his tail. That was his way of telling me that the conversation was over. I fluffed up Draco's fur and smiled.

"So mate. We down for drinks this weekend?" Ron asked.

"I can't." I shrugged. "Draco and I have plans."

I heard Ron laughing and I frowned at him. "Hermione said you were whipped but I didn't want to believe it. Your whip is the size of a fluffy tennis ball when he's curled up."

"Hey! He's more like a fluffy Teddy bear." I huffed.

"When are the two of you getting married then?" Ron asked.

Draco's head popped up as if he wanted to say "yeah when?" I scratched my head and smiled. I had already planned a way I was going to propose to Draco. I even planned the venue, food, number of people, and other stuff. Not that I've put the plan into action yet. It's just pen and paper notes at the moment.

I smiled at Ron and shrugged. I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to ruin the surprise. I noticed that Draco was upset. He jumped off of my lap and left the room.

I sighed and leaned forward. "See what you did now. His birthday is coming up soon. Do you mind helping me out?"

"With what?"

I walked over to my desk and russelled through the pages. I pulled out the one that had "Dray's Birthday" written on top. I handed the page to Ron with a smile.

"You think you can set all of this up for me? And let Hermione know I'll be using her services." I smiled.

"Sure thing mate."

Ron left after that and I went looking for Draco. I didn't like when Draco is mad at me. His anemigus was so small and he'd always manage to hide somewhere difficult.

"Kitten, please come out!" I yelled.

*~*~* Change POV *~*~*

Harry insisted that I show up to this little store. He didn't tell me why and I was still mad at him. Although this little store was my favourite. I sighed as I opened the door. "Maybe I shouldn't have stayed angry..." My thought was cut off.

"Surprise!"

I blinked a few times. Hands wrapped around my waist and a head rested on my shoulder. I turned a bit, ready to hit whoever it was. Harry's eyes were closed as if he expected me to hit him, I almost did. He opened one eye and smiled at me.

"Happy birthday, kitten." Harry kissed my cheek.

He loosened his grip a bit and I turned around completely. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. The party was great. From what I was told, Harry really went all out. He had bought out the store just so that he could close it for my birthday. And then with the help of Ron and Hermione they decorated the place and sent out invitations.

"Thank you for this." I whispered to Harry.

"Anything for you kitten." Harry smiled.

The party went on for a while. I was starting to get tired but I didn't say anything. Harry eventually walked up to the DJ... I hadn't even noticed there was one.

"Excuse me! Can I have everyone's attention." I stared at Harry wide-eyed. "Thank you all for coming and celebrating Draco's birthday. It's getting late and I'm sure some of you would like to get going so I'll make this quick." Harry smiled at me. "I had this plan. An idea in my mind about how this would work. But I can't think of a better time or place than right here and now. Draco I love you with all I am. I've been carrying around this secret for a few months now always scared you might find it."

"Harry?" I questioned stepping back.

Harry stepped towards me as he carried on speaking. "In front of everyone here. Everyone we both care about." Harry dropped to one knee in front of me. "I'm asking you, Draco Lucius Malfoy, to make me the happiest person ever. Will you marry me, kitten?"

Everyone was watching us and I suddenly felt hot and flustered. Was this really happening? Harry's smile never faulted as I continued to stare at him, shocked. I dropped to my knees and nodded my head, unable to find my voice. I nodded my head and wrapped my arms around Harry.

He laughed softly and I was grateful that he knew me well enough that I didn't have to use my words. He slid the ring onto my finger and lifted us both off of the ground. I didn't let go of him. I only burried my face in his shoulder and refused to acknowledge anyone else.

"I'll be glad to finally call you my son." I heard my father say.

"Thank you Lucius." Harry said. "I guess everyone can go home. Dray isn't going to let go of me anytime soon."

"Don't worry mate. Take him home. Hermione and I can handle locking up and everything else."

I felt Harry nodding his head and he lifted me off the ground. I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist. We were moving and I wasn't bothered with saying goodbye to anyone. I had Harry and my previous fear of being dumped was gone. I was his and he was mine.
