"Just because you're my brother doesn't mean you get to ruin everything! You are so annoying!"
"For the record Gin you and Ron did that all on your own. I just stepped up. I was the bigger person."
Ginny huffed and crossed her arms. "We did not! Can't you just stay out of it? Why do you or George get a say in it? Just stop poking your nose where it doesn't belong Fred!"
Fred shrugged and walked away. In his eyes Ginny was still too young to understand what was really happening. He hadn't told anyone besides George the truth anyway. He was right of course. Ron and Ginny had royally fucked up. As usual he was there to clean up after them. Except this time his presence couldn't go unnoticed.

"You're not going to celebrate with us?"
"No. Sorry Harry."
"Hermione..."
Hermione shook her head and sighed. "It's okay. You played a good game and I'm happy you won..."
"But Ron and Lavender are hurting you." Harry stated more than questioned as he finished Hermione's thought.
Hermione nodded her head and sighed. She really cared for Ron. She would have done anything for him. Unfortunately the fame that came with being the MVP got to his head. He didn't seem to care about her one bit. Harry gave Hermione a hug and stayed with her. He knew Ron was being an asshole.
Everytime they won a game Hermione was left on the outskirts. She had been the reason Ron was on the team. She had sabotaged Cormac for him. It took her a really long time to finally join in on one of the parties. That was unfortunately a really big mistake for her.
Ron had grown increasingly annoyed with Lavender. He had also been worried about Hermione. He wanted her to be like Lavender. Clinging to him and begging for him to spend all his time with her. Instead he found himself seething with jealousy.
He was jealous of Harry and the amount of time he spent with Hermione. Everytime Hermione ditched the parties Harry did too. When Ron would go looking for them Hermione would chase him off. So naturally he thought of doing something so ridiculous and stupid hoping it would gain her favour.
It was originally Ginny's idea to give Hermione a love potion. Despite Ron's jealousy he didn't actually want to be in a relationship with Hermione. So instead of the love potion he decided to just get her drunk. At least that way she wouldn't be so hung up on him and he'd still get what he really wanted.
Ginny had convinced Hermione to attend the celebration. They were soon going to graduate after all. Ginny made some valid points, manipulating the way Hermione felt about Ron. Ron spent the entire time giving Hermione the attention she had wanted. Hermione was filled with hope that there might be a future for them after all.
It was too late for her to do anything by the time Ron carried her to her room. She was weak and couldn't do much of anything. Although she was fully aware of what was happening. Her heart was shattered and so was her illusion of Ron. She knew that the trust they had was gone as she watched Ron grin.
Hermione woke up the next morning in pain. She was naked and her body was aching. She didn't know when she passed out but she knew why she was so sore. She curled up on herself in the blankets wanting to hide from the world. A hand on her shoulder made her jump.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."
"Oh hi Harry." She mumbled.
"No one is awake yet I thought you might want to go to your bed or to the bathroom." Harry shrugged.
Hermione looked around again. She had been so out of it that she thought Ron had taken her to her own bed. But guys weren't allowed into the female dorms. Hermione's body shook with disgust. Was she still laying in...
Her trail of thought broke when she noticed Ron fast asleep in the bed next to the one she was in. Harry hadn't said anything as he watched her. She curled up on herself again and faught back sobs. Harry sighed and stood up.
Harry had let Hermione sleep in his bed when he realised what Ron had done. He figured she wouldn't remember everything but there was no hiding some of the evidence. He grabbed an extra blanket from his trunk and wrapped it around Hermione. He gently picked her up, making sure she was properly covered before walking away.
Hermione wrapped her arms around Harry's neck as he carried her. She couldn't hold back the tears streaming down her face. Her voice betrayed her as she cried and sobbed into Harry's shoulder. All the while Harry just walked.

Hermione and Harry had been invited over for the Christmas holidays by Mrs Weasley. Neither of them had said a word to Ron or Ginny since the incident. Harry sided completely with Hermione and because of that Ginny had started spreading rumours about both of them.
Hermione had been sick quite a lot in the past few weeks. When the first invitation came from Mrs Weasley she had almost missed it. The second time they had both ignored it. It was after the third invite that they decided to just go. For the sake of Mrs. Weasley and to see the twins again.
Both Harry and Hermione opted to stick together during the holiday. Harry wouldn't chance leaving Hermione alone with Ron or Ginny again. Especially since they both seemed to forget what they had done. Ginny had her own part to play in what had happened since she had been the one handing Hermione her drinks that night.
"Are you okay?"
Hermione jumped and turned around. "Oh... Hi... Hi Fred."
Fred raised an eyebrow. "Are you okay?"
"Just feeling a little sick is all." Hermione shrugged.
"Anything I can help with?" Fred laid a gentle hand on Hermione's shoulder.
"Get away from her."
"Harry it's okay." Hermione frowned.
Harry frowned at Fred and Fred backed up very confused. Harry had felt responsible for Hermione since he felt guilty for not helping her earlier. He watched over her like a big brother even if she made it clear that he didn't need to.
Harry had lashed out at Fred a few times during the course of the holidays. Since they made a pointed effort to stay away from Ron and Ginny, they spent more time with the twins. To say that even the most juvenile person would find Harry annoying was an understatement.
"So how long have you been throwing up and eating so much?"
"What?" Hermione frowned.
Fred shrugged. George was keeping Harry busy since they both wanted answers for the strange behaviour. With Harry around neither of them could ask questions. Naturally Fred and George came up with a plan and Fred now stood blocking the door to the bathroom. He had caught Hermione so she couldn't deny it.
"Don't play dumb. How long?" Fred raised an eyebrow.
"For about two months now." Hermione shrugged and sighed.
"And Harry's being a jerk because?"
"Ron didn't tell you did he." Hermione shook her head.
She didn't remember everything that happened that night. She hadn't even asked Harry how she ended up in his bed. They hadn't spoken about it and she would have preferred to keep it that way. She wasn't sure but she had a theory as to why she had been so sick. She didn't need a rocket scientist to tell her.
Hermione told Fred what she knew. She didn't tell him about her suspension. Then again she didn't need to. He drew the same conclusion. He was actually rather pissed off by the time Hermione finished the story. She begged him not to say anything because she was ashamed of it.
"He doesn't know he got you pregnant?" Fred frowned.
"No."
"And Harry?" Fred asked.
"He doesn't know either." Hermione looked down.
"You can't hide it for long."
"I know." Hermione shrugged.
"Spend the rest of the holidays with me." Fred shrugged as well. "I mean if we stay together for the rest of your time here. By the time you show any other signs they'll think..."
Fred let his sentence hang. He didn't need to explain any more to Hermione. She agreed of course. Even if Fred wasn't the father of the baby growing inside of her he was an extremely close relative. The resemblance would allow him to pass as the father. She wasn't going to get rid of the child, she knew that when she first suspected she was pregnant.
"Why would you do this?" Hermione asked.
"Ron's an asshole and an idiot. I'm always cleaning up after him and you don't seem to want to terminate. He doesn't deserve to know he's a father and you don't deserve someone like that. I'm not taking his side or anything." Fred explained.
Hermione hugged him and it was clear she was grateful. She spent the rest of the holidays glued to Fred's side. They had explained everything to Harry and George. Mostly so that Harry would stop snapping at Fred. Also because George was Fred's twin and Fred never kept anything from him.
That's how Fred ended up getting confronted by Ginny. She didn't understand what a mess her and Ron had made. Even with the lies she was spreading. Even if Fred never touched Hermione they had planned to make it seem otherwise.
Fred gave Hermione some of his shirts to throw on every now and again. He even messed her hair up before allowing her to leave his room. All of this had started to make Ron's blood boil. He didn't like the fact that Hermione had been ignoring him. He didn't like that Fred was getting all her attention.
The holidays ended rather quickly for everyone. Hermione had finally started enjoying her life again. She wasn't as jumpy as she had been before. Harry was glad to finally see her genuinely smile again. Fred had actually felt something he never thought he would towards Hermione. George was just loving the drama.
The whole Weasley gang went to platform 9¾. It was basically customary for them to do that. While Ron and Ginny boarded the train almost immediately, Harry and Hermione lingered a bit to properly say goodbye and thank you. The entire time Fred was holding Hermione's hand.
"Ammm. There's just one more thing." Fred said.
He looked at the train and then at Harry and Hermione. He hadn't let go of Hermione's hand yet. He wanted to smirk after seeing Ron and Ginny glaring at him, but held it back. Fred turned completely to Hermione and cupped her cheek with his free hand. He gently and slowly moved closer to her until their lips touched. Much to his delight Hermione didn't push him away.
There was a small group of people who stopped to look at them. Fred didn't care as he kissed Hermione and Hermione started to kiss him back. That, as they say, was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Hermione's fear of what people would think when they found out she was pregnant disappeared. Her fear of having to go back to Hogwarts disappeared. Fred hadn't judged or blamed her. He accepted that his brother had fucked up and he stepped up. He showed Hermione that she had someone to rely on.
Hermione smiled and stepped back when Fred broke the kiss. She hadn't let go of his hand yet and she really didn't want to. Fred kissed her cheek and whispered into her ear as he stared at the train. Hermione nodded her head, hugged Fred and kissed his cheek before boarding the train.
"What did he say?" Harry asked as he followed her.
"I should write a letter to his mother in a couple of weeks saying I'm pregnant" Hermione shrugged.
She knew what that meant and so did Harry. Since her and Fred had spent so much time putting on a show for everyone Mrs Weasley would assume. No one would question it. Additionally Hermione would be finished with Hogwarts a good while before she ways actually due.

"Mommy! Help!"
"What's wrong Nix?"
"Daddy is trying to eat me!"
"Fred." The tone was stern but playful.
"I'm not doing anything Hermione." Fred said and then turned to the little girl. "You little tattletale."
"Pheonix have you eaten your food?" Hermione asked.
"No mommy."
"Run along then."
Fred wrapped his arms around Hermione's waist and rested his head on her shoulder. Hermione closed her eyes and rested her head against him. She always loved when he held her. It made her feel safe and secure.
They had gotten married two months after Pheonix was born. It was done out of obligation or it at least appeared that way to everyone else. The truth was that Hermione fell in love with Fred. His support and efforts had won her heart. Fred had also fallen in love with Hermione. In his eyes she was the strongest person he knew. Having been through what she did and still found love in her heart.
The doorbell rang breaking both of them out of their daydreams. Fred and Hermione walked towards the door as they spotted Pheonix run to open it. Hermione smiled and shook her head. This was Fred's fault. Always racing her to the door.
"Uncle Harry!" Pheonix yelled.
"Hello princess. Where's mommy?" Harry asked as he picked her up.
"Right here. What brings you around?" Hermione answered.
"Well. I thought you two could use a night off as parents." Harry shrugged and grinned.
"Why?" Fred asked.
Harry rolled his eyes. "George!"
George walked in with a box and a smirk. "You didn't think we would forget did you?"
"What on earth is going on?" Hermione frowned.
"Your anniversary." George and Harry said.
It was Fred's turn to frown. "That was last week."
"Better late that never." George shrugged.
Fred and Hermione both shook their heads. They had been married for a good 6 years. Over time they quite literally began to mirror each other. They had never found a need or desire to celebrate anything without Pheonix. She had become their entire world.
"Just go!" Harry urged.
"For us." George shrugged.
"You guys spend way too much time together." Fred and Hermione said.
Harry shrugged and George nodded. Hermione took the box from George. Fred and Hermione both decided that nothing bad could happen in a few hours. So they went and got ready for a night out.
Hermione opened the box from George as Fred drove. If she was drinking something she would have choked. She closed the box and tossed it in the back. She stared out of the window completely ignoring Fred's questions. She hadn't even realised they had stopped until she heard Fred yell in surprise.
The box contained a few things. A hotel key card. A note. A pair of handcuffs. A few loose condoms. It also had something else neither Fred nor Hermione wanted to touch. Fred took the Hotel key card and note from the box and closed it.
"My brother is definitely something else." Fred sighed as he got back into the car.
"Your brother and my best friend. That note is in Harry's ungodly handwriting." Hermione shook her head.
"Enjoy the night and give Pheonix a sibling. Or if you don't want to there's protection." Fred read aloud and smirked. "A little alone time with you does sound amazing."
"You know we can't." Hermione frowned.
Fred shrugged. "I know. But they don't."
Hermione shook her head and smiled. "Can we just go to a restaurant and have a nice meal? Maybe go to a movie afterwards? Get some popcorn."
"Hermione if you're craving salty popcorn you can just say that." Fred raised an eyebrow.
"I'm craving salty chocolate and peanut butter coffee." Hermione huffed and crossed her arms.
"Caffeine is a definite no." Fred said. "I guess we're going to a trashy drive through and a movie."
Fred put the car into gear and pulled off. Hermione was happy to have someone who understood her the way Fred did. They weren't ready to tell anyone just yet. Hermione's anniversary gift to Fred had been a positive pregnancy test.
Even though technically Pheonix wasn't his to begin with Fred had stepped up and was there through everything. Now he had a second opportunity to do it all over again. He had suggested writing his mother another letter. Pretty sure she would frame it like she had done with the first one.
Hermione rested her head on Fred's shoulder. "I think we should finally tell everyone the truth."
"What do you mean?"
Hermione shrugged. "Let Ronald and Ginny know what they did. Neither of them would have understood before but I think now they will. I think now it will have a much greater impact in them. They will know that you've known the entire time."
"Why do you want to do that?" Fred asked.
"Just because." Hermione said.
