You didn't leave you dormitory until Monday morning when you had to leave for class. Lily had told you that Sirius had been trying to get up to the dormitory but he stairs kept giving out on him as they did to any males, preventing them from getting up to the girl's dormitories. You didn't feel bad though, you couldn't bear putting up with his crap, and you hoped desperately that he didn't come to class today as you didn't want to see him.

As you came down the stairs, slightly early from class, hoping that he wouldn't be there, so that you could get to class before he was able to corner you. There was no such luck, at the foot of the stairs was a sleeping Sirius. You did your best to step over him, but he quickly awoke.

You tried to run off, but he caught your arm before you could get away.

"Please Y/N, just talk to me," he begged.

"What, so you can lie to me again?" You hissed, doing your best to not let your emotions overcome you.

"You didn't let me explain."

You shot him a glare. You had no idea what there was to explain. Those few lines that you had heard, cleared things up perfectly well for you.

"What is there to explain Sirius?" You questioned. "You were toying with my heart for over six months. There doesn't seem to be an explanation for that other than you are a dick."

"Can I please just explain everything? Can you at least let me do that?" Sirius sighed. "That's all I ask."

You didn't think he deserved the chance to explain but you wanted the chance to know what had convinced him to be so cruel to you.

"You have twenty seconds."

He took in a deep breath. "It wasn't malicious Y/N. James bet me to ask you out on a date because he knew that I liked you and that I was too scared to act upon it so took the control out of my hands. I was going to tell you at some point, but I was just so surprised that you liked me too that I was scared you'd hate me if you knew."

You paused. You didn't know whether it was another lie or the truth, but you felt like you needed to trust his story even if you would be apprehensive from now on.

"Please Y/N, can you let me try to make it up to you. I know I broke your trust, but I didn't mean to, I just want to make things up to you," he said softly. "Just let me have a second chance."

"Okay," you whispered. "One more chance."

A smile grew across his face as he went to lean in to hug you but hesitated, not wanting to push your boundaries.

"Thank you, Y/N. I will do everything that I can to gain your trust again."
