Luna Lovegood- Rain (a)
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy had another one of their arguments in the great hall as they always did, attracting the attention of most of the school like flies to a pot of honey. There was however always one person that wasn't impressed or attracted by the show, Luna Lovegood. She would either be watching from a distance or not paying any attention at all to the theatrics, in fact, too say that she was a loner wasn't really touching it.
"Hey Luna." You pushed your robe out from under you and sat down next to her on one of the long benches.
"Hello Y/N." She responded, not looking up from her now cold plate of food.
"Not interested in those buffoons eh? I think Fred or George is holding bets on who is going to win this time. I don't know which one though."
"Ha." Luna did not change her expression as her fork moved her scraps of food to one side of the plate to the other. "What do you want?" She asked, almost coldly.
"Nothing, why would I want anything?"
"Nobody ever speaks to me without wanting anything and you have never spoke to me before, so I thought I may as well just get it out of the way. What do you want?" She looked up at you for just a second before returning to her previous state.
"I just thought I would make a new friend today? You are always sat here by yourself, so I figured I would just come over and say hello." Her eyes met yours, they were a very pale silver, almost foggy.
"I prefer being alone, if I have nobody relying on me then I cannot disappoint anybody can I?"
"I guess that no, you can't disappoint people if you don't know them but that isn't how you should see it."
"That is the problem is Y/N, we see things differently. Nobody sees things the way that I do, everybody else is lucky like that."
"How do you see things Luna?" She smiled ever so slightly, nobody ever called her by her actual name.
"I just see things differently, I can't really explain it but I just do."
"Can you try?" You felt bad hounding her, but she seemed to appreciate somebody talking to her, even if it was just a little.
"When the rain goes, what do you see?" You had to think for a second.
"I see the sun, is that not what you see?"
"I see the puddles and I think that even though the sun has now come out, everything has remained damp and soon enough the clouds will cover the sky and the rain will come right back."
"There is always going to rain Luna, but does that not make you appreciate the sun so much more?"
"It would do, but it always seems to rain whilst I'm outside."
