Draco Malfoy- Secret: Part 2 (a)

"I'm sick of having to sneak around dingy corners." The thought of what could be scuttling around the shadowed corners of the dungeons made your skin crawl, but then again so did the thought of speaking to Draco after your argument. He stood in front of you like a disciplined dog, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his robes and his head hung to the floor.

"It won't be for much longer, I promise." His usual cocky, arrogant demeaner had been replaced with a quiet, withdrawn self.

"You've been saying that for months." Draco scrunched his face and paced up and down the cracked floor, annoyed that he couldn't just push you around like everybody else he had come across in his life. "I guess this is goodbye then." He stopped in his tracks and ran steady fingers through his hair.

"This doesn't have to be the end Y/N, you're so immature sometimes." He slumped one arm over the other and pressed his back firmly against an almost frozen stone wall, somehow regaining his normal attitude.

"I'm immature? I guess mature means sneaking around behind your father's back because you're too scared of him to say what's really going on. Whatever Draco, if you're not going to tell anybody about me there's no point in us being together anymore."

"Why does everything have to be so public anyway, I know you're eager but you don't have to rush to tell everybody that you get to date this."

"Less me showing off my... arm candy.... More me knowing that my 'boyfriend' isn't ashamed of me." Your voice began to bounce from wall to wall as your volume increased, Draco rushed over to make sure that nobody would hear your little discussion.

"I'm not ashamed of you." His monotone drawl and uninterested face told you enough, you shot him a knowing glare from deep under your brow. "Fine, I'm a little bit ashamed, it isn't my fault you're a mudblood though." He immediately knew what he had said, he tried to reconcile, to backtrack on what he had said but there was no hope for him.

"I thought you didn't believe in that nonsense anymore?" Your hands curled up to fists, your fingers wrapping around your wand and your knuckles turned a burning white.

"I don't... of course I don't." You marched towards him until he was back against the wall, this time cowering in fear.

"You better pray that you never see me again. Now go."
