Remus Lupin- Early Morning (c)
It had been a great hope that your daughter's first Christmas wouldn't involve her waking you up before the sun rose. There was no such luck. It wasn't as though she had been jumping on your bed trying to wake you as had happened for the last few years when you had mistakenly allowed Sirius to stay the night over Christmas Eve, but her crying for her early morning meal woke yourself and your husband.
Remus had kissed you tiredly when he awoke along with wishing you a merry Christmas, but reassured you that he would attend to the little girl's needs. Soon after you had heard the sobs seize your husband returned to your shared bed, slipping back under the covers, happily receiving your warm embrace.
"Merry Christmas Love," you smiled resting your head on his chest as the two of you lay back into the pillows of the bed.
"Merry Christmas," he yawned kissing the top of your head.
"Was she hungry?" you asked doing your best to not fall asleep.
"No, she woke herself up, but she went straight back to sleep when I picked her up. I felt bad putting her back in her crib," he said softly.
You let out a light laugh, smiling at how much you loved your husband and daughter.
"She's already got you wrapped around her little finger. Told you she was going to be a daddy's girl," you smiled.
Remus raised your chin gently with a lone finger so that he could look you in the eyes.
"She's just taking after her mother; I would do anything for you and her," he sighed contently, leaning down to peck your lips.
You couldn't help your smile growing at your never ending love for the werewolf by your side.
"This is definitely a different Christmas morning than last year. It is so much better. Good idea to trick James into getting Sirius to stay there last night. I know we've got him here for dinner but it's nice to just be here for now without him getting involved," you whispered.
He nodded.
You both loved Sirius. He was a great guy and one of your closest friends but he did lack any form of knowledge of personal space, constantly desiring to spend every moment with one of you, he certainly had attachment issues.
"Hm... I love him, but I think it is fair to leave him as James' problem this year for once, it's nice to have some peace, which is saying a lot when we have a baby that wakes up crying every few hours," Remus shrugged.
"I know it is Christmas and all, but Y/D/N clearly hasn't realised the day doesn't start at five in the morning, so shall we take a nap and restart this day at say nine or whenever she wakes up?" You questioned.
He nodded once again kissing you again and allowing the two of you to snuggle up and go back to sleep for a few more hours.
