It tore you apart to try to figure out what should concern you more when you awoke in the hospital wing. Really you should have paid more attention to the fact that you were in the hospital wing and in so much pain however in the chair next to your hospital bed was your boyfriend Remus Lupin looking in a right state with tears streaming down his cheeks.

You let out a croak announcing to Remus that you were now conscious. His tearful eyes connected with yours, reaching out to grab hold of your hand.

"Y/N?" He whispered in a strained tone.

"Remus, what happened?" You asked, your voice cracking.

"The... the full moon... I... I didn't mean to," he sobbed completely pained by what had happened.

Even with such a simple fact, you remembered everything.

You had been dating Remus Lupin for over a year and you had begun to get suspicious where he would go each month. You had tried to ask but he'd never answer you coherently, leaving you to only think of the worst.

Without too much else you could possibly do in the circumstance, you decided to follow him to get the answers you desired. You never expected to see him and his friends sneaking into the shrieking shack that was infamous for being the most haunted building in Britain, one of which you'd never go to in the light let alone in the night.

Apprehensively you followed them in when they never left the building. But as soon as Remus noticed you in the room, he desperately shouted at you as he rived in pain. You had no idea where the other three were as only animals were in the room.

You were completely confused by the sight you saw especially as he began to turn into a wolf-like creature. Never did you think you were going to fear your boyfriend but in not knowing what was going on you tried to keep your emotions under control. When the thing that replaced your boyfriend lunged towards you, everything became black in a cloud of pain.

"You're... you're..." you muttered trying to make sense of last night.

"A monster. I know. That's why I never wanted to tell you. I never wanted anything like this to happen to you. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I knew this was too dangerous, I should have never have tried to be normal," he whispered tearfully.

"You're not a monster Remus. This wasn't your fault," you tried to reassure him.

He looked at you confused.

"I hurt you. It is all my fault."

"I should have known you had a good reason to not tell me where you were going. I wish you had told me but you had a right to keep the fact you were a werewolf to yourself. I should have trusted you, it was my own fault for getting hurt. I don't blame you Love," you smiled softly.

"If I had just lied and never told you that I cared for you, you wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be in pain," he cried.

You squeezed his hand, doing your best to reassure the man you cared for ever so dearly. Even though it was a lot to get your head around, there was no doubt in the world that you loved him and could never think badly of him.

"I love you Remus. I love you with all of my heart. There is no doubt in that."

"I love you too," he whispered. "But I need to leave. We need to end this and I need to go. I was stupid to think anything could work out. I can't risk hurting anyone again."

You shook your head desperately not caring that it hurt you further.

"Please you cannot leave. I don't blame you for this. And I love you. I wish you had told me sooner about what was going on, but I understand why you didn't. But please don't give up on everything you had worked for because of my stupidity," you sighed softly.

"Why are you being so nice to me? I am a mon-"

"Don't call yourself that. I love you, you idiot. Now kiss me Remus, and stay here as I need you more than I ever had," you smiled cheerfully.

He leaned in with a weak smile, pecking your lips.

"I'm sorry," he said softly.

"I know Love. I know you are. I love you."

"I love you too."
