A/N- This is a running joke for Hannah and I. 

You were sat in the Gryffindor common room along with your friends, James, Remus, Sirius, Peter and Marlene. Usually it was a pleasant chat between the group of you all, however James was being bitter and grumpy so it forced the whole mood of the conversation down.

"Lighten up mate," Sirius smiled elbowing James in the ribs.

James didn't respond verbally but grunted an incoherent few syllables crossing his arms over his chest so that he could tuck his elbows to his side to prevent Sirius from hitting him there again.

"What's up with you, you grumpy git?" Marlene questioned.

Once again James couldn't function a proper sentence and muttered something, still glaring into space.

"I'm going to guess it's something to do with Lily," you piped up.

Sirius rolled his eyes and nodded to confirm your theory. Generally, whenever James was in a bad it did have something to do with Lily, not that she ever meant to cause him any problem, well maybe not all of the time.

"What did she do now?" Marlene groaned.

Although the two of you were close friends with Lily, also being friends with James did cause you all some issues in him being slightly in love with the poor redhead.

"She's got a date," he grunted.

"Who with?" You smiled, happy for your friend.

You knew why she wouldn't have told you, seen as it would have been likely that you would have messed up and told James, but somehow, he had found out on his own.

"That Ravenclaw guy," he frowned miserably.

You cocked an eyebrow at him. Did he actually think that that information was actually helpful?

"What Ravenclaw guy?" Marlene asked confused.

With gritted teeth, he began to think about how to describe the guy that had stolen his Lily.

"Well he's in Ravenclaw," he said in a near growl.

"Oh, and is he a guy?" Marlene asked with an eye role. "We gathered that seen as you called him that Ravenclaw guy however there are many and we'd like to know which."

James' glare moved to the blond girl that you sat next to.

"He's tall and handsome and smart, and has Lily's attention."

"I'm sure she's just being nice. Maybe one day she will like you," Remus smiled attempting to be reassuring but really it wasn't that helpful.

"I doubt that," Sirius snorted but instantly shut up when he received the death look from his best friend.

James kept going on about how perfect this guy was, but seen as he didn't know his name and his descriptions were vague you had no idea who the guy was.

After what felt like a lifetime of his complaints and whining the portrait opened allowing people in. Through the hole walked Lily and a boy garbed in the blue and bronze robes of a Ravenclaw.

You must say that James was quite spot on. He was quite a looker and you weren't the only one to notice. As Lily smiled to you all leading the boy over to a table in the corner away from your group, you realised you weren't the only one that had taken an interest in him. From taking notice of your fellow Gryffindor's: Peter, Sirius, Remus, Marlene and yourself were all trying to take a look at the guy who at walked in, all looking fairly intrigued.

James let out an exasperated sigh, but from gaining the two people in the corners attention, he realised he needed to lower his tone as he angrily groaned, "That Ravenclaw Guy."
