Marauders- Baby: Part 1 (c)
This is a Remus x Reader along with James x Lily as well as including Sirius. I hope you enjoy.
When you received the letter from Lily, you were panicked and concerned as to why she and James wanted to talk to you so desperately. Although you had all been friends for the longest time and were in constant contact out of school, it still felt impossible that she could send such a letter without something being wrong.
She told you that they had something important to tell you. What could that be? Was one of them dying? With that being your first thought it became clear as to why they all called you a pessimist.
You responded telling them it was fine for them to come over to your house on Sunday. When the doorbell rung, you assumed it was the couple you were expecting. It wasn't.
At the door was Sirius Black. He looked slightly concerned and a fair bit confused, not that the expression he held was out of the ordinary for him.
"Sirius. What are you doing here?" You questioned.
"Hi, Y/N/N. James said he had something important to tell me. And that he'd meet me here," he shrugged.
"Come in then, I guess."
If they had something important that they needed to tell both you and Sirius why didn't they just ask the both of you to their place, rather than arranging the meeting at your home.
He had been to your home before, and made a bee line for the sitting room, taking his place in the arm chair he'd claimed the last time he'd visited. Letting out a sigh, he sunk into the seat, as you sat down on one of the sofas.
"Do you have any idea what's going on?" He asked.
"Not a clue. I got a letter from Lily saying that she and James needed to tell me something and asked if they could come over today," you responded. "She didn't elaborate on why she needed to talk to me."
"Prongs is rubbing off on her," Sirius muttered. "She's becoming as dramatic as he is."
A laugh burst from your lips as you raised an eyebrow at him. "And where did he happen to learn that from?"
Sirius feigned innocence.
"I don't know what you are insinuating Y/N, but I am not dramatic. I simply have a theatrical finesse."
You went to make a retort, but someone knocked on the door.
"Must be them."
Hastily you went to the door, swinging it open, expecting your best friend and her husband, but instead your boyfriend was stood there.
"Remus, what are you doing here?" You questioned, sounding a bit too brash but with your annoyance building at your redheaded friend, you were losing patience.
"I can tell you're glad to see me," he smiled softly.
"Moony's here?" Sirius shouted from the living room.
"Is that Sirius?" Remus questioned.
You nodded to your boyfriend, letting him into your home. Although you'd been together longer than James and Lily had, your relationship was moving at a much slower rate. It had taken you long enough to convince him that you didn't hate him for being a werewolf, so it didn't bother you that he hadn't popped the question- not that you'd be against it if he did.
He leaned down to peck your lips, hanging his coat onto the coat rack.
"Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here? James and Lily should be here soon, and Sirius has already arrived unannounced," you explained.
"Did they contact you too?" He questioned as you made your way to the front room where Sirius sat.
"Why'd they contact him?" Sirius said bluntly. "I'm Prongs' best friend."
"And I'm Lily's," you stated.
Remus took his seat next to you on the sofa, looping an arm around your shoulders sheepishly.
"I'm glad I'm loved."
"Do you have any idea why they want to talk to us?" You asked your boyfriend.
He hesitated. "No."
Instantly you knew he was lying. You could read him like a book.
"Yes you do," you stated.
"No I don't."
Sirius scooted to the edge of his seat.
"Moony what do you know?" He asked.
"I've been sworn to secrecy."
You glared at him, and you knew that Sirius' face showed a similarly threatening expression aimed at your boyfriend.
"Tell me Lupin, or we will make your life a living hell. Believe me full moons will be the least of your worries," you threatened.
"Believe me you'll prefer to hear this from Lily. And although you are threatening love, Lily scares me a lot more," he shrugged.
You narrowed your eyes at him further.
"Smart move Lupin."
Lily could be terrifying, much worse than you. No one should ever get on the bad side of Lily.
For the next few minutes Sirius whined about why his best friend would tell Remus and not him, if it was so important. You were giving Remus the silent treatment now. Even if you knew Lily would likely castrate him if he told you, you still wanted to know. Due to your silent treatment you moved to the other side of the room and sat on the other sofa which James had claimed as his seat.
When the door went again, you refused to stand up, resulting in Remus going to answer the door.
"Where's Y/N/N?" Lily questioned from the door way.
"She's in the lounge."
"Is Padfoot here yet?" James asked.
"Yes. They are acting like children."
You heard the door slam shut as the three made their way into the room. Remus took his seat on the other sofa, whilst Lily said hello to Sirius before walking over to give you a hug and sit next to you.
James walked over to stand in front of you. He stared down at you, crossing his arms over his chest.
"James," Lily said in a warning tone.
"She's in my seat."
"It is her house. She can sit where she wants. Sit next to Remus."
He went to argue but gave up knowing Lily was going to win, and went to sit next to his friend.
"So what did you need to tell us? And why did it have to be in my house?" You questioned.
"Well to answer the second question first; your settees are the comfiest," James stated, before muttering to himself. "When I get my seat they are anyway."
"Why did you tell Moony first?" Sirius whined.
Lily's eyes snapped to the werewolf sat opposite her.
"You told them?" She hissed.
He shook his head violently.
"No. He wouldn't tell us. We just know he knows, not what he knows," you said, pausing in confusion from the overuse of the word 'knows'.
Lily let out a sigh, smiling at him.
"I knew I could trust you," she beamed.
"Why did you trust him and not me?" Sirius nearly shouted.
She glared at the dark haired man in the arm chair.
"We didn't mean to tell him. But Remus just somehow knows everything. He guessed," Lily shrugged. "I threatened to kill Y/N, if he told anyone."
"Hey," you exclaimed. "Why me?"
"It'd hurt him more," she said in a too innocent voice.
James was practically bouncing in his (technically your) seat as he grinned at his wife.
"Can we tell them now?" He practically begged.
She nodded her head at him.
"We're having a baby," they said at the same time.
The room silenced instantly. You looked over to Sirius whom looked equally as shocked as you did at this moment. However at the same time Sirius jumped from his seat to tackle James in a hug as you latched your arms around Lily.
"Congratulations Lil," you grinned. "I would slap you silly for not telling me, but you're carrying my niece or nephew, so it'll have to wait."
She laughed, hugging you back, "I'm sorry for not telling you. We wanted to tell you three at the same time. But Remus somehow knew, so we had to swear him to secrecy and get you and Sirius somewhere together so that we could tell you at the same time, before you could get the information out of Remus."
"It's fine. I can't believe you two are going to be parents," you smiled. "But if you ever need anything or need a replacement for James, you know where to find me."
"Hey," James called out.
"He passed out when I told him," Lily stated.
"We promised not to tell anyone that," James groaned.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Don't act as if I couldn't here you just tell Sirius 'I told you that I had sex with Lily', I think that you crossed the line of what can and can't be told to our friends."
James and Lily began to bicker as you made you way over to Remus.
"Sorry," you smiled softly, sitting down on his lap, pressing your lips to his cheek.
"It's okay."
He wrapped his arms around you.
"I got my seat back," James nearly squealed ruining the short lived moment with Remus, as he ran to his seat, sitting on it.
Lily once more rolled her eyes at her husband sitting down next to him.
"So Y/N, have you two thought about kids?"
