You walked onto the train and made your way to the carriage that you usually sat in. After an amazing summer spent with your boyfriend, his family and your family; you were ready for your fifth year at Hogwarts.

When you got there you saw Blaise talking to whom you presumed was Draco. Blaise smiled at you as you got closer "Hello there Y/N" he said and he pulled you into a hug before you sat down next to Draco.

You rested your head on Draco's shoulder whilst he rested his hand on your thigh "You two need to date already" Blaise said and Draco chuckled "Maybe I should grow some balls then" he said and Blaise agreed with him.

Little did Blaise know you and Draco had been dating for two years but you were best friends prior to your relationship. The Y/L/N family and the Malfoy family have always been close, both were Slytherin families so it was only right for their only heirs to be placed into Slytherin together.

As best friends you and Draco were as close as boyfriend and girlfriend, you two would always be hugging and messing around together so as a result of that none of your friends suspect nothing more than the two of you still being best friends.

However about a week before you and Draco returned to Hogwarts for your third year, Draco asked you to be his girlfriend to which you agreed so the two of you had just passed your two year anniversary.

No one knowing about your relationship wasn't done on purpose, it was just a case of no one has brought it up. Blaise always made comments about the fact that the two of you should date and so did other Slytherins but neither of you really wanted to make the announcement of your relationship.

"But really Y/N, don't you want a guy like Draco as your boyfriend?" Blaise asked with a smirk on his face just as Pansy walked into the carriage "Why would Draco date her?" she asked and you rolled your eyes at her.

Pansy had this obsession with Draco, she never stopped flirting with him but of course nothing ever happened between the two of them. Pansy had never liked you because you were so close with Draco but she still hung around with you which was annoying to say the least.

"Why would he date you? That's the real question" you countered and she looked at you in surprise whilst Draco just smirked "Just because you've been his best friend since" she trailed off meaning she had no real argument.

You looked to Draco who smiled fondly at you "We have been best friends since we were born Pansy. He was born only a matter of months before me. Our families are extremely close, we spend almost all of our time together" you explained and Draco rubbed your thigh with his thumb as he usually did "Does logic not dictate that as a result of this Draco and I should be extremely close also?" you posed your statement as a question.

"Can't you move out of the way Y/L/N" Pansy demanded disregarding your question and you looked at her with a blank expression on your face "I said MOVE" she was starting to get angry "Why should I?" you asked shrugging "Because I want to sit next to Draco" she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

You looked to Draco again and he seemed to catch on with what you wanted "You know what Pansy. I will move" you said standing up and Pansy looked triumphant until Draco stood up also "However so will I" he put his arm around your waist as he spoke.

"Now if you will excuse us" you started with a smile on your face "My girlfriend and I have an anniversary to think back on" Draco stated.

The look on Pansy's face was priceless.
