Title: Confusion
Pairing: Hermione/ Original Character
Plot: 10 year old Hermione noticing a boy, a boy for goodness sakes, glancing at her during classes. She did not know why, but it made her feel better.
Notes: My prompt. My original character. Everything else believe jus to J.K Rowling. And this is probably very bad...
As Hermione sat at the library of her school, she felt like someone was watching her. She sat at her usual seat, books scattered all over the table. She had noticed Timothy staring at her for sometime now, but didn't know why he would do this. After all, most of the school didn't seem to like her. 'Know-it-all freak!' They'd yell.
She sometimes didn't understand why being a know-it-all was a bad thing. Her teachers lovers her, and parents were after all, very proud. And she also didn't get why the word freak would even be associated with her. Was it because of her name? Her-my-oh-nee. It wasn't that complicated after all, was it? But that wasn't what was bothering her that day. What was bothering her was the boy. Why would anyone do that? And what was more complicated was...she liked it. She felt noticed, but why did she feel this way? She wanted to end this once and for all.
That day, the last day of school, she was curious on why Timothy Reid, a boy who is always so loud, would be so shy around her. She got her books, and walked up to Timothy.
"Oh look it's the Know-it-all!" Said William, one of Timothy's friends. Before Hermione could do anything in response, the boys ran away. Timothy was the only one who stayed.
"Don't listen to them, Hermione. You're very smart, and you should be proud of it." He said. Hermione smiled, a smile that was more from shock than actual happiness. No one her age had said this to her before. She noticed that his cheeks had turned a shade of pink, and it made her stomach do backflips. She dodn't know what made her do this, but it just happened.
"Th-thank you. I just had one question," she took a deep breath. "Why do you keep on staring at me during classes?" His cheeks got even redder, if possible, but she stood her ground. She needed to find out because it was just too confusing.
"Because...I-I have to go, my mum is probably waiting for me. Have a great summer! See you next year!"
And Hermione never found out why she got butterflies, why he was acting this way, and what love is at that time because next year, she had made new friends at a place filled with magic.
