Evan's POV

I woke up early and see a note on my bed side table. I sit up and grab it. Good luck today, Professor Snape it read. I smile and get out of bed. I get dressed as the other three wake up. I then wait for them to get ready while making sure I have all my books in my bag. Along with my wand. Once they were ready I lead the way down to the great hall.

"How do you know the way?" Kyle asks me curious.

"I grew up here until I was ten, though I never explored the whole castle" I tell him.

"Wicked with you as a friend we won't get lost" Reece cheers high fiving Derek. I just roll my eyes as we enter the great hall. I spot Harry with his two friends.

"Come on, let me introduce you to my brother" I tell them. They agree and we head over. "Can we join you Harry?" I ask.

"Of course Evan" he says with a smile. "Have a good sleep?" he asks me.

"It felt good to sleep in the castle again" I tell him. "Anyway I wanted to introduce you to my friends. My best friend Derek and our friends Kyle & Reece" I say. "Guys my brother Harry and his two friends Hermione & Ron" I tell them.

"You're pretty" Kyle tells Hermione who blushes.

"Maybe focus on girls in our year" Reece tells him and Kyle blushes. We al laugh.

"Nice to meet you all" Derek states.

"Are you all excited for your first day?" Hermione asks.

"Sure am, I can't wait to learn magic" Derek states.

"Good morning Professor McGonagall" I say as she joins us.

"Good morning Evan, I have all your time tables" she states. "Here's yours Mr Coleson, Miss Granger, Mr Hogan, Evan, Mr Potter, Mr Stark and Mr Weasley" she says handing them all out to us. "Do try not to be late on your first days of class" she tells us and continues down the table handing out timetables. I compare my time table with my dorm mates and we all have the same classes together, awesome.

"Oh good, we're starting some new subjects today" Hermione states.

"New?" Kyle asks.

"In third you get to choose two new subjects to take" she tells him.

"Hermione, they messed up your timetable" Ron states peering over her shoulder. "They have you taking ten subjects a day, there isn't enough time" he sates. Unless you have a time turner, which would take a lot of persuasion for the ministry to allow any student to use one. But I do notice a gold chain around Hermione's neck, had she gotten permission and been given a time turner? Is that why professor McGonagall wanted to talk to her last night?

When I tune back into the conversation Harry and his friends were getting out of their seats. "Where are you guys going?" I ask him.

"Divination" he states.

"Oh, that's at the top of north tower" I state. "Have fun and see you at lunch" I tell him. He nods his head and they leave. My friends and I finish our lunch. I then lead the way down to Potions. Which we shared with the slytherins. It wasn't so bad, Professor Snape took the roll had us write a few things down and then let us start our first potoin. Luckily no one in my class blew up a cauldron like Neville did in he and Harry's first potions lesson. I was the only one to make a perfect potion. But only got five points while a slytherin for 15 and her's wasn't half as good as mine.

"You know that was unfair of Professor Snape, you should have gotten more points" Romilda states as we leave class.

"It's fine, besides Professor Snape has always been baised to his house" I tell her.

"Well it's not fair, are the other heads of house bias to their students?" she asks.

"No" I answer.

"Then he should do the same" she states before going to join her friends as we took our seats for transfiguration. Professor McGonagall also took the roll and luckily no one got lost in our class. She then went over the rules for the class and demonstrated the different forms of transfiguration. Before giving us each a needle which we were to turn into a match. Mine got the colours and shape of a match but was still metal. Better luck next time I guess.

We then had history. Which was very dull and Derek even fell asleep. Which I found hilarious. Though I managed to take detailed notes of Professor Binns lecture. We then had lunch and I told Harry about my morning. He only told me a little about his, not going into detail for some reason. But I didn't mind, I was just happy he was having a nice day so far and he promised to let me have a go on his Nimbus 2000 after classes.

Afternoon classes were great. We had herbology and defence against the dark arts. We also had study hall, but as we had no homework yet. I gave my dorm mates a tour of the school. Showed them the library, owlery, quidditch pitch and kitchens. Before I left to meet Harry at the quidditch pitch. We talked about out afternoon classes while he showed me how to mount the broom properly. We took turns flying in circles around the pitch.

Before we went back to the castle for dinner. Harry locked his broom up in the gryffindor change room first. He promised to introduce me to the team during their first practice. Which I am excited to watch. I had dinner with my friends and we then went to the common room. Where I teach Derek how to play exploding snap, which was fun. Until we were told to play a quieter game by Percy Weasley.

So we decided to play a simple game of go fish instead. Talking about our classes and which we enjoyed most so far. Along with what subjects may take for third year as I new the name of the subjects we got to choose from. We all liked the sound of Care of Magical Creatures, but have conflicting views on the other subject choices. I liked Arithmancy, Kyle is intrigued by divination, Reece wanted to learn more about muggles and Derek found ancient runes fascinating. So it looks like there will be one class we don't share after second yea, but we're fine with it as we'll still have all our other lessons and will still be dorm mates. Along with best friends. We called it a night after the fifth game and went up to our dorm room. Where we got changed, did our teeth and wished each other a good night before falling asleep in out separate beds.
