"Y/L/N Wake up this instant!! How dare you have the audacity to sleep during my class!! Is the revision for your final theoretical exam not interesting enough for you?! Detention!!" You groaned as you rubbed your eyes. Of course you had to fall asleep in Snape's class. You were up all of the night before with a young Hufflepuff, helping him study for his final for Transfiguration. Yep, you were a Hufflepuff, and of course you decided that helping was more important than your own wellbeing. Still, the young Hufflepuff had gotten top marks; he had interrupted the middle of your study period just to thank you. The memory put a small smile on your tired face as you began writing Snape's notes down. However, said smile quickly changed to a frown when you noticed Draco Malfoy staring at you from his potions bench. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, trying to continue with the notes Snape was demanding you all write down.

Just as you were about to finish the final revision notes a scrunched up piece of parchment hit you square in the jaw. Picking it up, you noticed Draco smirking from the other side of the room. Rolling your eyes, you carefully unfolded the parchment, the words "You're an adorable sleeper" glaring up at you. Your face grew hot as you turned back to Draco, the blonde winking in your direction. Flustered, you tried to continue on with your notes, your face a bright red.

Detention with Snape was hell, but at least it was only an hour. What followed was much worse. Draco was waiting for you outside the classroom when your hour was up. You blushed bright red, knowing he had waited for you, but you quickly masked it with a deep frown.

"What are you doing here?? If you're going to gloat you can just leave now." You mumbled at the blonde, your embarrassment causing your face to flush an even deeper shade of red.

"I wasn't going to gloat, I was just going to walk with you to the Great Hall, but I think I'll just go." Draco smirked, turning on his heel and walking away. You huffed, angry that he was making you feel so nervous. You quickly caught up to him, walking in silence as you both headed towards the Great Hall together. Neither of you said anything, however, you did notice that a small smirk sat proudly on Draco's lips the whole way.

Over the next few weeks Draco followed you around to your classes, made notes with compliments on them that he threw at you during classes. He even defended you from Snape. The whole time you were falling hard for the blonde. Sure he could be an ass when he wanted to be, but he was being really sweet towards you. You just couldn't figure out why.

It was a crisp Monday morning the next time Draco decided to strike. You were sitting by the Black Lake, your latest Herbology assignment in your lap, as you tried to remember the different types of aquatic plants you needed.

"Now what the hell is this one..." You huffed as you read the description. You sighed as you began to flick through your Herbology notes for the answer.

"It's Gillyweed. I see you're doing our Herbology assignment huh?" Draco interrupted, smiling softly when you muttered a 'quiet thank you' as you wrote the answer down in the designated part of your assignment. You looked up at him nodding as you gestured to the spot next to you.

"Yeah, but it's a little difficult. I'm having trouble remembering the aquatic plants; they all sound the same to me." You explained as Draco laughed. You wacked him with your textbook, causing him to groan in pain.

"What was that for?" He whined, rubbing where you'd hit him. You smirked at him, batting your eyelashes in feigned innocence.

"Let me guess, your father will hear about this?" You giggled, looking up at Draco who just rolled his eyes, pretending to get up and leave. You grabbed him arm, pulling him back down playfully.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I just couldn't help myself," You giggled again, with Draco joining in. Your laugh was like music to his ears, and he couldn't help laughing with you. When you finished laughing, you turned back to your work, however you realised Draco was staring right at you, his gaze not wavering.

"Can I help you?" You smiled softly at him, a light blush dusting your cheeks from the intensity of his gaze. He smiled softly in return, moving a piece of your h/c out of your face before caressing it gently. You leaned into his palm, his touch sending a calmness throughout your body. Gazing up at Draco, you realised he was slowly leaning closer towards you, stopping with his lips hovering just above yours; his breath gently fanning your face. You stared into his grey eyes, his gaze piercing your own e/c ones.

"Do you know why I've been hanging around you lately Y/n?? It's because I like you, I really really like you," Draco whispered, before closing the distance between you both. The kiss was gentle, as though he was afraid he would hurt you. It was sending sparks throughout your entire body, your stomach filling with thousands of butterflies. You deepened the kiss, your hand on his neck as he continued caressing your cheek, your other hand on his chest while his landed on your waist. Unfortunately, your breath ran out and you had to pull away. Breathing heavily, both Draco's face and your own were a bright red, bashful smiles written across them. You turned towards Draco, kissing him again on the cheek.

"I really, really like you too Draco." You replied grinning like an idiot. Draco let out a large breath, his signature smirk returning to his face. He pulled you closer to him, causing you to squeal in surprise.

"So does that mean that you'll be my girlfriend ??" He asked grinning. You grabbed his collar tightly, pulling him closer to you and kissing him hard on the mouth.

"What do you think?" You smirked, causing Draco to chuckle, wrapping his arm around your waist and placing a gentle kiss on your temple. He then pulled your notes back into your lap from where they'd scattered during your 'profession of love'. He gave you another kiss on the temple, before flicking to the next page of your assignment.

"I'm gonna help you with the assignment ok? It's gonna be easy as," You kissed him on the cheek as you both got to work. Throughout the remainder of your 'study session', bright smiles never wavered from either of your faces.
