Mean
Why do people often make characters from the books so mean all of a sudden (and let's face it, it's almost always Hermione or Ginny) I just don't get it. If you want your story to be good wouldn't it be a better idea to make the characters as accurate as possible? There's about two reasons why the characters are suddenly mean (there are more reasons but I feel like these two are the main ones) they are are jealousy and just because the author wanted them to be mean. Here are some examples of what I've seen for each example I'm using Hermione who is being mean to a character called Eleanor.
Jealousy, Hermione's point of view:
Ugh there she is again that vile creature Eleanor. I honestly hate her, I mean she bumped into Ron once and she said sorry! Who does she think she is talking to my Ron! Ew she's so disgusting I'm so much prettier and smarter than her. Even though Ron probably doesn't remember her from that day six months ago I still must take no chances. I point my wand and her and say 'Avada kedavra'.
Just because the author wanted Hermione to be mean, Eleanor's point of view:
Why did Hermione hate me? I never did anything to her. On my way to Hogwarts in my first year she just came into my compartment and started to punch and insult me. Why? She must have enjoyed doing this to me as she continued to do it at Hogwarts. I never told anyone. One day when I was walking to my common room, Hermione started saying mean things about me. I turned around and said "Why do you hate me?" She looked at me and replied "Honestly I have no idea,"
It is honestly so annoying! Neither Hermione nor Ginny would ever do this. Please please let us portray these characters correctly.
