I was just reading a fanfic and I thought that it was really good but instead of describing things they would just stick in a picture. And they didn't just do this once or twice every single time. I'm only four chapters in but it's already getting on my nerves. They would write something like:
They went to the castle. This is what the castle looks like.

She looked stunning in her dress. This is what her dress looks like.

I find it really annoying when people do this, once or twice I suppose it's ok. But every single time? That's just lazy and it means that us readers can't imagine well anything really. We're just being told what everything looks like.
